Re: The need for a current SSL certificate for the website

Chrome will mark all HTTP sites as ‘not secure’ starting in July

We're already having problems with this, incidentally -as I mentioned in my last post.

Wednesday noon at the Rathaus is good for me.
Sylvia and Sudane can't make it, so I'm going to cancel and try to think of a better time.

Re: The need for a current SSL certificate for the website

We really MUST take the steps to get the certificate for our website. Despite going to the site many times, I still EVERY TIME get first a warning page that the site is insecure and should not be visited, and then when I go past this yet another page that the site is dangerous. This makes the site ...

Re: Eventualities

No worries, Sylvia. And thanks for your support, Sudane; I'm grateful for the help you've given me so far and I'm pretty sure I'll end up asking for help again if I need to before the term is out :) That's two for two on the meeting front -and given my own scheduling conflicts it looks like I need t...

Eventualities

I remember the anxiety that was present inworld during Tor's last term because he hadn't delegated some maintence duties but also wasn't around to do them either. I'd like to avoid that, personally. I'm also aware that between now and mid-Oct there's probably going to be a LOT of times I'm simply no...

Re: Leaving CDS

Wait...something in the CDS being straight forward and as obvious as it seems? Have I been watching too much Fringe and woken up in an Alternate reality? **check Sylvia for a goatee** :D Well, I'd be happy to have it be as simple as that. That would mean Ranma takes over the Monastery project entire...

Re: Leaving CDS

Just let me know if you need assistance with Monastery. I am not sure what the course is from here. Arria has paid for another month, I don't know if she intends on paying in August, or if she intends for July to be the last month. Either way, I'm guessing that setting up the future of the Monaster...

Re: The need for a current SSL certificate for the website

I think internet security is highly important. I already get warnings when I try to open a link that Han Held gives me, instead of seeing the page. My laptop crashed recently (no idea why, so not at all stating it is because of this ) , but I would not like to see " dangerous links " influence my d...

Re: Lowered land prices

Perhaps that's an indication that they feel the need to boost the private region ownership economy, even at the risk of dampening consumer spending, since the vast majority of residents can get cash only by buying it from LL. I've heard for years that fashionistas are one of (if not the) largest sp...

Re: Lowered land prices

Not that that is a bad thing -from where I'm sitting it means we're getting by on less of a razor's edge financially than other spots are. And I'd think that means our long-term outlook is probably more stable.

Re: Lowered land prices

I don't recall if all of our regions are grandfathered, but if they are not, then this should be good news for CDS. https://community.secondlife.com/blogs/entry/2375-another-15-for-15-lower-land-prices-and-reduced-set-up-fees/ If I'm reading the CDS Master Parcel list correctly, I don't think this ...

Re: Call for Agenda items - Next RA meeting is June 18th at 10am

I have posted the Proposed Agenda here: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8535 It includes some items that I have heard discussed during the past term as new business as well as CDSL 24-01. Thank you. I honestly doubt I'll be able to make the meeting. However, I have submitted the budge...

Han's Budget for the RA's 29th Term

We're going to have a bit of a dip from last term, so I have tried to keep this as bare-bones as I'm able to. I want to make some notes: 1) Events don't draw people in -that said, I feel that events keep people in, both directly and indirectly. If folks wanted to live in a ghost town, they know wher...

This support info might be useful: https://my.bluehost.com/hosting/help/auto-ssl
And they're who we're already using?

If so, according to this page SSL is included for free. Presumably all we'd need to do is set it up.

Re: The need for a current SSL certificate for the website

I've talked to Bags inworld about this. I'm going to put aside funds for this in the budget and if they get used, great. if not ...more money in the coffers. 8) Installing them is a hassle, and judging from my talk with Mizou, I think she doesn't feel there's a need. When the complaints come in, I'l...
