Census for the Fall 2012 elections

Post by Sudane Erato »

The first census for the fall 2012 elections was collected tonight, Oct 2nd, between 4:20 and 4:45 PM SLT. The results are here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub ... utput=html

Please note that there are 3 tabs/sheets. The first one, "Census", is the combined info from the Hippo boxes and from the Land Scanners. If there is NO ENTRY in the notes column next to a name, that name meets the qualifications of being current with their tier and owning at least one parcel in their name. Names with notes are disqualified (subject to the determination of the SC) for the reason designated by the note.

The other tabs are the collected data which provided the info in the first column. The second tab, "Hippo Data", is the data from the boxes, with boxes in arrears highlighted in red. The third tab, "Scanner Data", is the data from the boxes, listing the names of owners detected by the scanners in each sim. Please note that the first column on that page, "Time", enables identification of which sim the owner was detected in... instructions at the top of the column.

I will retain the raw data in CSV files directly as it came from the sources in case a reconstruction of these reports is needed.

My arrears is a result of my inability to log in. I am looking for an alternative viewer to fix this. However, this would not be a problem if there could be some way to pay tier from the Secondlife website or otherwise out-of-world. Is that possible to implement?

Thanks

It's not possible with current software. Maybe some system will develop in the future, such as Hippo enabling payment via Paypal. ?

It's OK. Rosie recommended Firestorm -- I installed it -- It worked -- Tier paid!

Thanks Rosie.

Hi Sudane - I am curious as to why Amulius Lioncour is listed, with no land and no hippo. Why is he there?

Amulius Lioncourt has a Hippo which he pays (which is why his name appears in the first column), but he is now in arrears. He owns the swordsmith shop on the Platz next to mine, and has never converted it back to personal ownership. He is actually one of our very oldest members, but has never participated in the community.

Actually, he represents an interesting situation, one which is shared by Danton Sideways. Both of them have paid tier recently, but because they were rather far overdue, they probably didn't notice that their payments merely brought them up to date, but didn't pay for many days into the future. Since the day they've paid, they've again slipped back into arrears. While its regrettable that they don't pay attention to what they owe, this is actually a great benefit of allowing a person to go a fairly long time before evicting them. Once they're evicted, their record is wiped clean, and we have no way of recovering what they didn't pay. So long as they are not evicted, their overdue tier mounts up, and whatever payment they make pays that first.

We can always evict them manually if we think that they'll never be back.

If you are ever having trouble logging in (SL seems to be worse lately for me and others I know), there are a few text-only viewers. The one I have found that seems the most reliable is Metabolt which I saw first recommend on Ferd's site at mitsi.com and then it has also been recommended by OpenSim.

http://www.metabolt.net/

If you need to interact with a prim (such as pay tier to a Hippo Vendor), be sure to log in close to the prim and use the Object Viewer tool to interact with nearby prims (i.e. sit on them, pay them, etc.)

Hope this helps!
