CDS10B 2nd Quarter Events Schedule
Note that we promised to rock you a little bit, so here ya go. Also we were able to include a lot of down-home CDS people who are very talented and agreed to donate their time for the CDS10B festivities in their own area of expertise. Thank you on behalf of the people! Also we begin getting into some historical events and exhibits. And so we begin to mix it up just a bit.
As always, I point out how often these long schedules are tentative and usually in flux, especially in SL as RL happens to artists and we have to be flexible and change as necessary. So keeping this in mind, here is the 2nd quarter schedule.

September 16th, 5:00 PM—JOURNEY, Live and in Concert.
Canuck Entertainment has teamed up with The Steven Jaimz Project (RL/SL Live Musicians featuring Steven Jaimz Hunniton) and together the stages of CDS will come alive as Journey rocks the Amphitheater.
You will experience a perfection in appearance, stage presence, band & crowd interactions, the most amazing live audio possible in SL, lighting and effects that will so startle you that you will feel like you're actually at a real life concert. You are....you are just doing it on your computer!

September 17th, 10:00 AM—Morning Delight, With Your Host Donny Collazo.
Donny has just canceled all shows as I’m posting this due to a major medical condition that occurred. Keep this friend of CDS in your thoughts and prayers.

September 18th, 12:00 PM—Hero Walk Exhibit Opens.
How well do you know yourself? And did you know that you are a hero? We all are. Discover yourself as you interact with a major exhibit called Hero Walk. Go through all the colors and click on each title picture you come to. They will talk to you in chat. They will ask you questions and as you answer them within your own consciousness, you may discover a hero you have never met: YOU.
This is one of the most popular exhibits on Inspiration Island and it was invented at least partially by our own CDS resident, Ludo Merit. It begins today in CDS.

September 19th, 2:00 PM—Nutrition and Health With Your Host, SDolphin.
Enjoy this interactive lecture with SDolphin who most of us know and love as a CDS neighbor. SD is the owner/administrator of Holistic Health College right here in our sims. He is a Holistic Medicine expert and Tai Chi master, and considered a nutrition, herbs & acupuncture expert in the country of Israel.
Some believe that nature can also solve the problems often caused by natural events….i.e. disease. What are your problems? SDolphin can help you and your loved ones. His knowledge is extensive and renowned in this area. Or you may just be seeking to learn something. This event will not let you down.

And so we are now into Oktoberfest. Research shows that Oktoberfest normally begins on September 20th and that is also our official Birthday—the day we acquired our original property! So we’ll wrestle it all in together and just continue our bash with a hair of the German Dog thrown in for good measure. Let’s get German!
September 20th, 10:00 AM—Mike Carnell, in Concert.
Mike is a German gentleman, he sings authentic German songs and he sings them well. What a great way to begin any festivity that is to have a German flair, with an authentic German singer. Be there. It’s a little early, but then again we are going to party all day so we have to start early!

September 20th, 11:00 AM—Opening Oktoberfest Ceremony.
Come in your lederhosen as we salute the CDS flag and honor our Germanic history. The opening ceremony will then continue with German Polka music. Dance! Life throws a lot of mayhem our way, even our second life. And we all have the chance to hide from it, to sit it out or we could even dance through it. We hope you dance!
There will be a May Pole there and dance balls for you. Bring your sweetie or come alone. The beer is on CDS.

September 20th, 2:00 PM—In the Amphitheater, Live and in Concert, QUEEN!
Second Life's hottest tribute band company, Thunder Rock Productions once again brings their show to the stages of CDS. This astounding production company was voted the #1 entertainment act in Second Life for the year 2013. They kicked off the SL 11th birthday celebrations awhile back and they were the talk of CDS for awhile after that stage production.
Wayne, Pibbs, Crossfire Ricochet and their crew will be putting on a special performance just for us. This event will showcase the original Queen with Freddie himself. This production will feature an astounding laser light show and will be chock full of effects just for you. If you have to miss any of these fabulous events and performances, QUEEN in Concert is not the one!

September 20th, 4:00 PM—Bandit Eddingham Live From Baveria.
Yes, Bandit will be streaming a concert to us live from Germany.
Bandit is good! He is into American Country music. And just a little research shows he is not unknown in this genre in RL. He is inspired by many country singers that performed in the country music capital, Nashville, TN, USA. He has performed in many famous places himself, such as a performance at the one place all country music professionals seek as their ultimate career goal, the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. Yes, Bandit is a pro in RL! Enjoy this level of talent presented just for our residents of CDS.

September 21st, 2:00 PM—Religious History Of CDS-Theology Tour and Lecture With Your Host, Gaius Tiberius Curio.
This event will fascinate you, as if you are not into our community theology, it will surprise you at the diversity of religions that exists in our community. We have Baptists, Pagans, Pentecostals, Wiccans, Moslems, Humanists, Buddists and Atheists practicing their faiths or lack thereof right here in our small community. And we all get along famously!
Join Gaius Tiberius Curio as he lectures on world religions and hosts a tour of our Shrines, Churches, Temples and religious icons and teaches the finer theological aspects exhibited in humanity. It will be interesting if you are an intellectual, and if you are a CDSer, you is one.

September 22nd, 12:00 PM—CDS History Tour #1—‘A Stroll Through History.’
This first tour begins in the Monastery Region with a tour of the Monastery. From this excellent CDS historical location, a LM will be provided landing our visitors at other locations. These locations will have historical markers with notecards containing pertinent information about each venue and inviting visitors to tour them. The platz in NFS will be included with historical information on NFS, the spas in CN and the fishing village in LA with an emphasis on Tuscany and its influence on Locus Ameonus. What a great way to show off CDS!

September 23rd, 5:00 PM—Mountain Boogie Blues Festival.
Come to the mountains of Alpine Meadows as we host a blues festival you won’t soon forget. There you will find blankets on the ground, beer on ice, a pig roasting on a spit and good friends to dance, party and chat with.
This ain’t your daddy’s blues festival. There will be no BB King or King Solomon Hill singing on the mountain—remember we are still rocking together. What you will find is the best of the blues rockers from Johnny Winters to Joe Bonamassa; and from Stevie Ray Vaughan to the blues of Eric Clapton. If you miss this blues festival, you will be more fit to be tied than the pig on the spit!

September 24th, 12:00 PM— Social Aikido with your host Ludo Merit.
We are also rocking the minds of you intellectuals, as you will see with this event. Is it even possible to get along with everyone? It must be because I have met some people who seem to have become adept at Social Aikido. You can become an Aikido Master!
Learn that not all conflict is a contest. Non-aggression is a basic attribute to the master of Social Akido. Yet counterattack is sometimes useful against direct attack. The Social Akido must master this technique. She cannot automatically hit back when attacked.
Learn the three common misperceptions of conflict. You may just come away from this seminar a Social Akido Master that can handle anybody. Even me. This is a great and popular seminar on human psychology and social interaction.

September 25th, 12:00 PM— Seminar: For Better or for Worse: is 10 years of self-government in the CDS a harbinger of the future?
Join your hostess Ms. Delia Lake, our resident expert on this subject, as she delves deeply into this topic as only she could.
“What do you think about democracy in virtual space? A jewel to be cherished? A relic dragged in from solid space? An emerging evolutionary advancement for humanity? ...or something altogether different?
“This presentation and open discussion will use democracy in the CDS as it’s starting point--how it began, has evolved to date, and danced with and around its sister self-governing communities of Cedar Island and Al Andalus. Given what we’ve learned during these past 10 years in the CDS, how could this way of operating add value to business, civic and leisure-time groups that meet and work together on virtual platforms? From what we’ve experienced during our run with democracy in the CDS so far, what opportunities and challenges are likely to arise as virtual spaces continue to populate and mature in their use, and how might these issues be addressed?” Delia Lake

September 26th, 1:00 PM—Beach Baby Bug Out
Somehow our parade turned into a great beach party on LA beach with people doing some major partying. I have no idea how that happened (*cough* Birch and Dawg) but it was fun! Let’s expand on that.
This is a major beach party featuring the music of the Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffet for the parrot heads. Watch the jumping dolphins and grab a beer. We will dance, chat and tell dumb jokes until we are blue in the face.

September 27th, 10:00 AM— Deutschstunde mit Lilith (german class with Lilith).
CDS is rich in Germanic history. Our own resident Lilith Ivory will host a fun event where you learn about it. Not just the history but even more things German. What is a platz that we talk about all the time. What is a schloss and a fachwerk that everyone I know seems to own one of except me. You will learn this and other German phraseology that will help you understand CDS and may even better your navigation in the cultural diversity of SL.
Come and spend some time with Ms. Lilith. It will be fun and you may just learn something!

September 27th, 2:00 PM—CDS Mega-Millions Treasure Hunt Opens
Slers love a good treasure hunt and they flock to these events when they can find them. We are going to have a doosy as they say in the South U.S.
All five sims will be included. A treasure map will be available and they will follow this map through all our sims finding all kinds of treasures from paintings to cars along the route.

September 28th, 12:00 PM— Colt Shostakovich in Concert.
Are you a Colt Groupie? Me and my friends are. Colt just amazes me at his talent on many instruments. But he is well known in SL as a jazz saxophonist. Colt will be breaking out his sax to entertain us this Sunday.
You don’t want to miss Colt in concert. He is a RL music teacher in the public school system and he has little time to perform anymore. But we grabbed him for this event, so don’t miss it.

September 28th, 4:00 PM—Nightwish Over The Top
Once again we have collaborated with the Irish production company, Bad Amplitude Productions to bring the band Nightwish to CDS. Nightwish is a symphonic power metal band from Kitee, Finland and they are hugely popular.
When we were putting together the events for SL 11th Birthday celebration, Nightwish in concert was the most talked about show on the schedule. They bowled us over with their stage presence, the awesome lights and fires they employ on stage and the sound quality is like nothing you have heard in SL.
This is not the same Nightwish concert as last time, this is a different production and it’s just a little more over the top because you tolerated the previous one so well.

September 29th, 5:00 PM—Battle of the DJs with your host Crossfire Ricochet.
Who is the best DJ in second life? We are going to find out for ourselves because we are calling several DJs in to fight it out!
Each DJ will have about 15 minutes to show us the stuff. They will simply perform the best show they can do in that small amount of time in whatever genre they are the most comfortable with.
The audience will vote for them and the top DJ will walk out with their head held high and bearing the title of the best DJ in Second Life. There will also be some prizes for the participants.

September 30th, 5:00 PM— Amadeus Masquerade Promenade with your hostess Shep Titian.
This is a ball but a quite different one. You get to dress like the ritz and wear a mask in such a way that everyone is guessing who you are. We will try not to look at that bright name tag floating above your head. Or Shep may want you turn them off, who knows.
Come as the Phantom of the Opera or as a jester, as the man in the iron mask or even as a very sophisticated lady. Use your imagination and get creative.
Who will shine at this ball. We will find that out this evening.

JerryDon, Catz, Penelope, Dee, SDolphin, Ludo, Delia, Lilith, Colt, Shep, Gauis and the rest of our CDS family of friends and neighbors who I know I missed who are working on this celebration! I am wowed just reading about this schedule...
You have all done CDS Proud my friend ! I can't wait to celebrate like ITS OUR BIRTHDAY !
Gwyn... did you hear him say, "nightwish"?
Wow !!! prepare to have some fun everyone !
