[09:11] Ranma Tardis: I call the RA meeting to order
[09:11] Rosie Gray: oh hi Oakwood ㋡
[09:11] Laura Azalee: hello Oakwood
[09:11] Ranma Tardis: first item on the agenda is to review and approve the agenda
[09:12] Ranma Tardis: it is in the box
[09:12] Bagheera Kristan: I motion to approve the agenda
[09:12] Laura Azalee: second
[09:12] Ranma Tardis: vote please
[09:12] Bagheera Kristan: aye
[09:12] Laura Azalee: aye
[09:12] Ranma Tardis: aye
[09:12] Ranma Tardis: motion carries
[09:13] Ranma Tardis: second item is to review and approve the minutes
[09:13] Laura Azalee: I motion to approve
[09:13] Bagheera Kristan: second
[09:13] Ranma Tardis: vote please
[09:13] Laura Azalee: aye
[09:14] Bagheera Kristan: aye
[09:14] Ranma Tardis: aye
[09:14] Ranma Tardis: motion carries
[09:14] Ranma Tardis: have anything Rosie?
[09:15] Rosie Gray: oh, hmmm
[09:15] Bagheera Kristan: raises hand
[09:15] Rosie Gray: well yes
[09:15] Sudane Erato entered chat range (18.09 m).
[09:15] Laura Azalee: hello Sudane!
[09:15] Ranma Tardis: I yield the floor
[09:15] Rosie Gray: I can say that there was a request/suggestion on the forums from a couple of people about dividing up one of the large parcels in Colonia Nova
[09:15] Brooke Brandenburg: hi Sudane :)
[09:16] Sudane Erato: hi hi :)
[09:16] Rosie Gray: so I did do that yesterday, to create 2 smaller parcels... which are still quite a good size
[09:16] Ranma Tardis: hi Sudane
[09:16] Rosie Gray: it might be a good idea to review some more of those very large parcels that always seem to be empty
[09:16] Rosie Gray: and
[09:16] Rosie Gray: on another topic
[09:17] Rosie Gray: I have purchased some advertising on the slnewser website
[09:17] Rosie Gray: a banner ad, and an advertorial
[09:17] Rosie Gray: https://slnewserpeople.blogspot.ca/
[09:17] Rosie Gray: we'll see how that goes ㋡
[09:17] Rosie Gray: I think that's all I have to report
[09:17] Rosie Gray: done
[09:18] Ranma Tardis: Thank you Rosie :)
[09:18] Ranma Tardis: anything from the LUC?
[09:18] Bagheera Kristan: raises hand higher
[09:18] Ranma Tardis: yes Bags
[09:18] Bagheera Kristan: I had a couple questions for the Chancellor, please
[09:19] Ranma Tardis: go ahead
[09:19] Brooke Brandenburg: hey Kyoko
[09:19] Ranma Tardis: you have the floor Rosie
[09:19] Laura Azalee: hi kyoko
[09:19] Bagheera Kristan: I am still typing...
[09:19] Bagheera Kristan: lol
[09:19] Bagheera Kristan: sorry
[09:20] Rosie Gray: I'm waiting for Bags' question ㋡
[09:20] Bagheera Kristan: I wanted to ask first - when I was reviewing Sudane's new build - I noticed the road was irregularly parceld in a way I think
[09:21] Bagheera Kristan: that does not actually benefit and might cause some confusion in that area.
[09:21] Bagheera Kristan: I looked at the old parcel maps and they don't show this irregularity, so I don't know when it was done
[09:21] Rosie Gray: it's always been like that, Bags
[09:21] Bagheera Kristan: I wrote about it on the forums last night
[09:21] Rosie Gray: yes I saw you had... didn't have time to reply
[09:21] Rosie Gray: but it's always been that way
[09:22] Bagheera Kristan: okay, thank you. My second question jsut came up now
[09:22] Sudane Erato: how is it irregular?
[09:22] Sudane Erato: sorry
[09:23] Bagheera Kristan: which is - reparcelling on request when we have so many available parcels seems like something we might want to review. I don't quite know how to handle that but I don't think we want to make it a regular habit
[09:23] Bagheera Kristan: back to sudane's question
[09:23] Bagheera Kristan: The road has been parcelled into diamond squares so that when one actually walks on that road, they are crossing into private parcels
[09:23] Bagheera Kristan: done
[09:23] Sudane Erato: i'm reading your post... and i can certainly answer that question
[09:24] Sudane Erato: should I?
[09:24] Bagheera Kristan: please do & thank you
[09:24] Lilith Ivory: Hi all :)
[09:24] Laura Azalee: hi lilith
[09:24] Rosie Gray waves at Lilith
[09:24] Brooke Brandenburg: hi Lilith
[09:24] Ranma Tardis: Hi Lilith :)
[09:24] Sudane Erato: do remember that we had an original space... with original rioads
[09:24] Lilith Ivory: me and Tan are victims of daylight saving time :)
[09:25] Sudane Erato: and also
[09:25] Sudane Erato: that there is a minimum size for parcelsing
[09:25] Laura Azalee: I THOUGHT SO lILITH
[09:25] Sudane Erato: 4x4 meters
[09:25] Laura Azalee: sorry caps
[09:25] Sudane Erato: so
[09:26] Sudane Erato: at one point, the parcels along Gywnethstrasse were moved to be against the walls
[09:26] Sudane Erato: in other words... across the street
[09:26] Sudane Erato: the parcel sizes had to maintain
[09:26] Sudane Erato: they are already very small
[09:26] Sudane Erato: so we had to fit both private parcels and public roadway into a very narrow space
[09:27] Sudane Erato: using the 4x4 grid
[09:27] Sudane Erato: that was truly the only way to do that
[09:27] Sudane Erato: and... let me add
[09:27] Sudane Erato: the difficulty that Bags points out
[09:27] Sudane Erato: is a very MAJOR motivator
[09:27] Sudane Erato: for the second part of my proposal
[09:28] Sudane Erato: probably one to be delayed
[09:28] Sudane Erato: which is fine
[09:28] Sudane Erato: but
[09:28] Sudane Erato: having private parcels within ther nfs walls
[09:28] Sudane Erato: has alwayas been a problem
[09:28] Sudane Erato: and hopefully, someday
[09:28] Sudane Erato: we can make it all one parcel with rentals
[09:28] Sudane Erato: done
[09:29] Bagheera Kristan: thank you Sudane, we can discuss the rest of that for later. My question for the chancellor was about road lines and reparceling in CN :)
[09:30] Rosie Gray: road lines in CN?
[09:30] Rosie Gray: sorry I didn't see a question about that, or reparcelling
[09:30] Bagheera Kristan: did you say you reparcelled in CN? just now
[09:30] Rosie Gray: I reparcelled 1 parcel into two, that was very large and habitually empty
[09:30] Rosie Gray: what was your question?
[09:31] Bagheera Kristan: right
[09:32] Bagheera Kristan: I was concerned because we have so many smaller parcels vacant throughout the sims - and worry about the whims of people who want a specific spot but want it changed in a long lasting way - and giving in to those whims....or the appearance of that happening that way.
[09:32] Rosie Gray: so, what is your question?
[09:32] Bagheera Kristan: I don't know because this just came up, so at the moment, I am just expressing my concern
[09:32] Bagheera Kristan: I guess I wanted that on the record, so thank you. done
[09:32] Rosie Gray: I see
[09:33] Bagheera Kristan: oh, I have more...
[09:33] Rosie Gray: well, it is the prerogative of the Chancellor to do this kind of thing... of course I would only do anything extensive after consulting with the RA and the LUC if it was active
[09:34] Rosie Gray: but it made sense to me to try it with this one parcel, and they are still both good sized, not small parcels
[09:34] Rosie Gray: ㋡
[09:34] Bagheera Kristan: okay, thank you
[09:34] Rosie Gray: if that's any consolation.
[09:34] Bagheera Kristan: which parcel was it?
[09:35] Rosie Gray: B.02, which is the parcel next to the crossroads, adjacent to the AM border
[09:35] Bagheera Kristan: and we need to write covenants for those now?
[09:35] Rosie Gray: no
[09:35] Rosie Gray: covenant stays the same
[09:36] Bagheera Kristan: well, B.02 had a very liberal covenant because it was so large
[09:36] Bagheera Kristan: anyways, sorry
[09:36] Bagheera Kristan: it is done
[09:36] Rosie Gray: well it's still 1152 sq. m., and the other one is 896 sq. m., so I think we're good
[09:37] Rosie Gray: it's been empty a very long time
[09:37] Sudane Erato: since the theater there
[09:37] Rosie Gray: yes
[09:38] Rosie Gray: any more questions about it, from anyone?
[09:38] Sudane Erato: raise hand
[09:39] Ranma Tardis: go ahead Sudane
[09:39] Sudane Erato: thx
[09:39] Sudane Erato: i'm inclined to agree with rosie
[09:39] Sudane Erato: that the large parcels go slower
[09:40] Sudane Erato: but
[09:40] Sudane Erato: if there is disagreement... which could surely be valid
[09:40] Sudane Erato: the discussion should be... IMHO
[09:40] Sudane Erato: whether should should lean towards smaller parcels?
[09:40] Sudane Erato: or larger ones?
[09:40] Sudane Erato: which ones tend to sell easier
[09:41] Sudane Erato: done
[09:41] Rosie Gray: hi Em
[09:41] Lilith Ivory: Hi Em
[09:41] Ranma Tardis: Hi Em :)
[09:41] Laura Azalee: hi Em
[09:41] Em Warden (Mothercard Warden): Hello :)
[09:42] Oakwood Nightfire: Hi Em
[09:43] Em Warden (Mothercard Warden): Hello Oakwood
[09:43] Ranma Tardis: any more questions for Rosie?
[09:44] Ranma Tardis: anything from the road committee?
[09:44] Rosie Gray: FYI, the specific covenant affecting the Zone B parcels on CN is:
[09:44] Rosie Gray: Zone B.
30. Structures may be no taller than 20 meters.
31. Buildings must have a 5 m offset from adjoining parcels
32. Minimum of 3 trees per 512 m2 of plot area.
33. Plots in this zone are named B.XX
[09:44] Rosie Gray: oop, sorry Ranma
[09:44] Ranma Tardis: continue
[09:44] Lilith Ivory raises hand
[09:45] Ranma Tardis: go ahead Lilith
[09:46] Lilith Ivory: I only wanted to ask Rosie if she made sure the 5m offset still works with the smaller parcels at the crossroad
[09:46] Rosie Gray: yes, they are still large parcels Lilith
[09:46] Lilith Ivory smiles and nods
[09:47] Rosie Gray: although you couldn't have a monster house on the smaller one, I guess ;)
[09:47] Lilith Ivory: hehe
[09:47] Sudane Erato: hehe
[09:47] Ranma Tardis: grins
[09:48] Ranma Tardis: anything else?
[09:48] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): /nme raises her hand
[09:48] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): I have a brieft comment
[09:48] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): if permitted
[09:48] Ranma Tardis: save it for Citizen concerns
[09:49] Ranma Tardis: anything from the road committee?
[09:49] Rosie Gray: not at this tie
[09:49] Rosie Gray: time*
[09:49] Ranma Tardis: now it is citizen concerns, go ahead Kyoto
[09:50] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): thank you
[09:50] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): BTW it's Kyoko
[09:50] Ranma Tardis: sorry Kyoko
[09:50] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): OK just a comment no discussion needed for me
[09:51] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): On a parcel that is 512 it is hard to get the side allowance that you need (5 meters?) if you want a house that looks right for the region
[09:51] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): my memory is that it's 3 meters in Monastery
[09:52] Tanoujin Milestone: Hello . Sorry I am late
[09:52] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): I maged it on one side, but more like 2 1/2 on the other
[09:52] Laura Azalee: hello Tanoujin
[09:52] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): finished
[09:52] Em Warden (Mothercard Warden): Hi Tan
[09:52] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): *managed
[09:52] Ranma Tardis: Hi Tan :)
[09:53] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): My comment is only that sometimes it's difficult
[09:53] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): really finished LOL
[09:53] Rosie Gray raises a hand
[09:53] Ranma Tardis: yes Rosie
[09:53] Rosie Gray: oh just to clarify for Kyoko
[09:53] Lilith Ivory: Hi Tan :)
[09:53] Rosie Gray: that your setback is actually 2m
[09:54] Rosie Gray: Zone H (Hamlet). Located on the north of the sim, adjacent to Locus Amoenus. Buildings in this zone should resemble styles of alpine Europe, mainly alpine cottages. Structures may be no taller than 20 meters. Buildings must preserve a distance not inferior to 2 meters to neighbouring plots. Plots must have an open area for garden or woods not inferior to 40% of the area of the plot. Plots must feature no fewer than 4 trees per each 512 m2 of plot area. A person cannot own more than2 parcels or 3072 m2 in this zone. Plots in this zone are named H.0
[09:54] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): thanks
[09:54] Rosie Gray: there's the pertinent info
[09:54] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): thanks
[09:55] Ranma Tardis: anything else Kyoko?
[09:55] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): no thank you
[09:56] Ranma Tardis: yw
[09:56] Ranma Tardis: any other citizen concerns?
[09:57] Ranma Tardis: any other citizen concerns?
[09:57] Lilith Ivory: I have an announcement but will wait till the end
[09:57] Ranma Tardis: ok
[09:58] Ranma Tardis: any RA member concerns?
[09:58] Laura Azalee: no
[09:58] Tanoujin Milestone: I have a little concern :)
[09:59] Ranma Tardis: go ahead Tan
[09:59] Tanoujin Milestone: anyone got the transcript up to this point? Would be nice if you could hand it to me on a NC. THanks
[09:59] Laura Azalee: I do Tanoujin
[09:59] Laura Azalee: will send you
[09:59] Tanoujin Milestone: cool, ty
[09:59] Tanoujin Milestone: done
[10:00] Ranma Tardis: Bags?
[10:00] Bagheera Kristan: I will save it to the forums, I just want to repeat my concern about reparcelling on the fly but don't want to get into it now. thank you
[10:01] Ranma Tardis: I have nothing, no old business
[10:01] Ranma Tardis: so it is on to Sudane's proposal
[10:01] Ranma Tardis: anyone want to discuss it?
[10:02] Bagheera Kristan: raises hand
[10:02] Sudane Erato: i can answer anyquestions
[10:02] Ranma Tardis: I am in favor of it
[10:03] Oakwood Nightfire: Sorry ... did I miss the proposal??
[10:03] Bagheera Kristan: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8441
[10:04] Bagheera Kristan: there is a link to the original forum post
[10:04] Ranma Tardis: thank you Bags :)
[10:04] Bagheera Kristan: raises hand higher
[10:04] Ranma Tardis: sorry go ahead Bags
[10:04] Bagheera Kristan: thank you
[10:05] Bagheera Kristan: please be patient while I type
[10:05] Ranma Tardis: nods
[10:05] Bagheera Kristan: first, I posted about this last night on the forums, here: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php ... 441#p46863
[10:05] Bagheera Kristan: There appear to be several sub items within Sudane's original post.
[10:05] Oakwood Nightfire: Apologies, but I need to return to RL. Thanks all
[10:06] Bagheera Kristan: The first is the linking of buildings on private parcels to public land
[10:06] Rosie Gray: bye Oakwood ㋡
[10:06] Bagheera Kristan: I am 100% in favor of that
[10:06] Laura Azalee: bye oak
[10:06] Oakwood Nightfire is offline.
[10:06] Tanoujin Milestone: bye oakwood
[10:07] Bagheera Kristan: The second is making rentals instead of parcels - to which I am currently opposed because I believe it changes the kind of people we are marketing to. Gwyneth wrote some time ago
[10:07] Bagheera Kristan: ....there are two large classes of people in SL - those who are concerned about privacy and those who are not...
[10:07] Bagheera Kristan: people who are concerned about privacy prefer parcels...
[10:09] Bagheera Kristan: IF the CDS decides they want to appeal more to people who are not concerned about privacy, then I know there are people - myself included - who would no longer find CDS meets their ideal
[10:09] Sudane Erato: may i respond to that?
[10:09] Bagheera Kristan: not done yet
[10:10] Bagheera Kristan: if it is just me, then it doesn't matter - I am just the loss of one person - but I do want to point out there is a difference, and from what I hear, I am not alone in that
[10:10] Bagheera Kristan: To that point - if we are staying with parcels - then it is important that the interior of rooms built not extend into common lands, because one runs the risk of not being able to rez or of moving personal objects onto public land.
[10:10] Bagheera Kristan: Done
[10:11] Sudane Erato: raise hand
[10:12] Ranma Tardis: go ahead Sudane
[10:12] Sudane Erato: so there are two topics there to respond to
[10:12] Sudane Erato: first
[10:13] Sudane Erato: regarding the owner vs renatl aspect... the secondf part of the proposal
[10:13] Sudane Erato: i suggested in a follow up post
[10:13] Sudane Erato: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php ... 441#p46833
[10:13] Sudane Erato: that for now, we do not take that on
[10:13] Sudane Erato: because you are right
[10:13] Sudane Erato: it has been much argued in the past
[10:14] Sudane Erato: and there are perhaps real issues that would come from it
[10:14] Sudane Erato: i respectfully beg that we take that issue off the table for npow
[10:14] Sudane Erato: second
[10:14] Sudane Erato: the valid issue of private room extending into public land
[10:15] Sudane Erato: that IS a technical issue
[10:15] Sudane Erato: most people do now know how to link their things... so all their things are on their own land
[10:15] Sudane Erato: i will be happy to tour people to my build on the platz
[10:16] Sudane Erato: because, in fact, the upstairs rooms do extend over public land
[10:16] Sudane Erato: to fix that
[10:16] Sudane Erato: i created to tool
[10:16] Sudane Erato: you touch the box
[10:16] Sudane Erato: and it rezzes a parcel outline THROUGH your house
[10:17] Sudane Erato: using that, you can tell exactly where you can rez, and where not
[10:17] Bagheera Kristan: raises hand
[10:17] Sudane Erato: then, when done, you just delete the outline
[10:17] Bagheera Kristan: oops nevermind
[10:17] Sudane Erato: until we adopt part two of my proposal... which will be more difficult
[10:17] Sudane Erato: my tool will suffice to prevent rezzing on public land
[10:18] Sudane Erato: and, of course, if people do
[10:18] Sudane Erato: any EM can see which owners of objects are on LV land
[10:18] Sudane Erato: and send them back
[10:18] Sudane Erato: done
[10:18] Ranma Tardis: anyone else wish to speak?
[10:19] Tanoujin Milestone raises hand
[10:19] Ranma Tardis: go ahead Tan
[10:20] Tanoujin Milestone: thank you - a question to Sudane: with stzep one I will have a house but maybe not able to have a wardrobe at a wall that is on public land?
[10:21] Sudane Erato: yes, unless that wardrobe is linked to a root object on your parcel
[10:21] Tanoujin Milestone: understood. done
[10:21] Sudane Erato: the same way we will link the build OFF your parcel
[10:22] Ranma Tardis: anyone else?
[10:22] Tanoujin Milestone: so we would have to teach people the linking techniques.... make sure they know how to help themselves
[10:22] Tanoujin Milestone: sorry. Done
[10:22] Rosie Gray nods
[10:22] Ranma Tardis: please continue Tan
[10:22] Sudane Erato: raise hand
[10:23] Ranma Tardis: yes Sudane
[10:23] Tanoujin Milestone: And part two of your proposal would make that linking to root superflues?
[10:23] Sudane Erato: just to emphasize
[10:23] Sudane Erato: this would take a long time
[10:23] Sudane Erato: this will not happen quickly, as we will NOT take away any existing homes
[10:23] Sudane Erato: only if a parcel is vacant
[10:23] Sudane Erato: or
[10:24] Sudane Erato: if someone asks us to modify their house... rebuild would be a better word
[10:24] Sudane Erato: that will take a long time
[10:24] Sudane Erato: and to Tan's quest
[10:24] Sudane Erato: yes
[10:24] Sudane Erato: exactly!
[10:24] Sudane Erato: part two would make all land public land
[10:24] Ranma Tardis: You can rebuild my house Sudane
[10:25] Sudane Erato: so linking would not be an issue
[10:25] Tanoujin Milestone: ic, thank you
[10:25] Sudane Erato: ty Ranma :)
[10:26] Ranma Tardis: I have a question for the RA, do you wish to vote on this issue?
[10:27] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane) raises her hand
[10:27] Tanoujin Milestone: I move we discuss to permit anchoring houses (houses approved by the Chancellor as in compliance with the covenant and consistent with the evolving theme) for citizens within the NFS city walls to public land.
[10:27] Bagheera Kristan: I move to vote on approving linking building - but only buildings - to common land
[10:27] Bagheera Kristan: ah I defer to Tan's motion
[10:27] Bagheera Kristan: I second Tan's motion
[10:27] Tanoujin Milestone: Yes, Bags, okay :)
[10:27] Ranma Tardis: vote please
[10:28] Tanoujin Milestone: thanks
[10:28] Tanoujin Milestone: aye
[10:28] Bagheera Kristan: aye
[10:28] Ranma Tardis: aye
[10:28] Ranma Tardis: motion carries
[10:28] Lilith Ivory applauds
[10:28] Rosie Gray: clap clap clap
[10:29] Ranma Tardis: brings us to General Announcements
[10:29] Ranma Tardis: claps
[10:29] Rosie Gray raises a hand
[10:29] Lilith Ivory raises her hand
[10:29] Tanoujin Milestone: uhm, I only moved to discuss this
[10:29] Sudane Erato: is that approvaed?... or approved to discuss?
[10:29] Lilith Ivory: (after Rosie)
[10:29] Em Warden (Mothercard Warden): Applause
[10:29] Rosie Gray: yes, was just going to point out that it was a motion to DISCUSS
[10:29] Rosie Gray: ㋡
[10:29] Ranma Tardis: yes Lilith
[10:29] Sudane Erato: thats what i thought :)
[10:29] Lilith Ivory: gez yes
[10:29] Sudane Erato: hehe
[10:29] Lilith Ivory: lol
[10:30] Bagheera Kristan: okay, well I move to approve Tan's motion without discussion
[10:30] Tanoujin Milestone: maybe we are done quickly with discussing
[10:30] Rosie Gray: :D
[10:30] Ranma Tardis: we had two motions on the floor
[10:30] Tanoujin Milestone: okay, second
[10:30] Tanoujin Milestone leans back and smiles "sorry, I made this overly complicated"
[10:30] Bagheera Kristan: to permit anchoring houses (houses approved by the Chancellor as in compliance with the covenant and consistent with the evolving theme) for citizens within the NFS city walls to public land
[10:31] Bagheera Kristan: (to be specific)
[10:31] Ranma Tardis: I second Bags motion
[10:32] Ranma Tardis: vote please on Bags proposal
[10:32] Bagheera Kristan: aye
[10:32] Ranma Tardis: aye
[10:32] Tanoujin Milestone: aye
[10:32] Bagheera Kristan: (except it is really Tan's)
[10:32] Bagheera Kristan: lol
[10:32] Laura Azalee: can I abstain?
[10:32] Ranma Tardis: yes
[10:32] Tanoujin Milestone: sure, always, Laura
[10:32] Ranma Tardis: motion carries
[10:32] Ranma Tardis: claps
[10:32] Beth Ghostraven is online.
[10:32] Laura Azalee: I abstain then - still feeling confused on the matter
[10:32] Sudane Erato: thank you!
[10:32] Rosie Gray: clap clap clap
[10:32] Tanoujin Milestone: I believe Kyoko wanted to say something?
[10:32] Lilith Ivory applauds again
[10:33] Em Warden (Mothercard Warden): Applause
[10:33] Sudane Erato: and please forgive me... RL presses hard
[10:33] Sudane Erato: I must go
[10:33] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): thanks, but no need
[10:33] Tanoujin Milestone: ;9 okay
[10:33] Lilith Ivory: see you Sudane :)
[10:33] Rosie Gray: bye Sudane ㋡
[10:33] Bagheera Kristan: bye Sudane
[10:33] Laura Azalee: bye Sudane
[10:33] Tanoujin Milestone: bySudane
[10:33] Ranma Tardis: brings us to announcements
[10:33] Brooke Brandenburg: bye Sudane
[10:33] Em Warden (Mothercard Warden): Take care, Sudane
[10:33] Sudane Erato: thank you all :)
[10:33] Sudane Erato: bye
[10:33] Ranma Tardis: bye Sudane
[10:34] Lilith Ivory: I have an announcement :)
[10:34] Tanoujin Milestone raises hand
[10:34] Ranma Tardis: go ahead Tan
[10:34] Tanoujin Milestone: thank you, this is still abut our last vote, a procedural question
[10:34] Ranma Tardis: oh?
[10:35] Ranma Tardis: what is your question?
[10:35] Tanoujin Milestone: could we keep the procedure to move discuss - vote in the future? I am always afraid to make a motion and the discussion being skipped.
[10:35] Tanoujin Milestone: done
[10:36] Ranma Tardis: it was a vote to approve not discuss
[10:36] Tanoujin Milestone: yes, but I believe the correct sequence is motion - discussion - vote
[10:36] Tanoujin Milestone: in general, you know
[10:36] Lilith Ivory: I agree
[10:37] Rosie Gray nods in agreement
[10:37] Ranma Tardis: actually discussion was on the agenda
[10:37] Tanoujin Milestone: the point is, we need a motion to have something to discuss
[10:37] Ranma Tardis: to avoid a vote, it needs to be tabled
[10:38] Ranma Tardis: Tan, you ask the LRA to place it on the agenda
[10:38] Tanoujin Milestone: but I won't insist now. My problem is that i wanted to make clear what point I want to be discussed without the discussion being skipped
[10:38] Tanoujin Milestone: then voted on it
[10:38] Lilith Ivory looks for the link to the rules the RA has agreed on in the past
[10:39] Rosie Gray looks at the notecard Parliamentary Procedures for Board Members, which details this nicely
[10:39] Tanoujin Milestone: I am glad you see my point, Rosie
[10:40] Ranma Tardis: so Rosie and Tan, you want a procedural vote to allow the vote?
[10:41] Ranma Tardis: like the US Congress
[10:41] Tanoujin Milestone: no, I would like to see a sequence of ;otion (to fix the topic) discussion (if needed) - vote
[10:41] Rosie Gray: HOW DO I MAKE A MOTION?

There are seven steps in completing a motion--ANY motion. This is the very heart of parliamentary procedures and takes care of most business in most meetings.

These seven steps are:

1. Member addresses the “Chair”.....
2. Chair recognizes member....
3. Member states motion “I move that......”
4. Another member (without waiting to be recognized) seconds the motion “I seconded the motion”
5. The Chair repeats the motion and calls for discussion: “It has been moved and seconded that...” Is there any discussion?
6. After discussion, the Chair puts the motion to a vote: “If there is nothing new to be added to the discussion, we are ready to vote. All those in favour (show of hands); those opposed (show of hands), pause for the count.
7. Chair counts the votes and announces the outcome. “The majority have voted in favour and the motion for..... has been passed.”
[10:42] Ranma Tardis: we had discussion and I asked more than once if people wished to speak
[10:42] Tanoujin Milestone: It is not about critizising you, Ranma
[10:43] Tanoujin Milestone: Just a suggestion
[10:43] Ranma Tardis: noted
[10:43] Ranma Tardis: any announcements?
[10:43] Tanoujin Milestone: okay, done. Thanks for your patience and time
[10:43] Lilith Ivory: YES!
[10:43] Rosie Gray: yes please
[10:43] Lilith Ivory: fter Rosie
[10:43] Ranma Tardis: go ahead Lilith
[10:44] Lilith Ivory: I just wanted to inform you that we are about to start a new election circle soon
[10:44] Lilith Ivory: at april 2th the first citizen census will be taken by Sudane
[10:45] Lilith Ivory: that means that all who want to run for an office in the next election should take good care to have at least one parcel in good standing and in their name
[10:45] Lilith Ivory: done :)
[10:45] Ranma Tardis: anyone else?
[10:45] Rosie Gray: ahem
[10:45] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane) bows humbly
[10:45] 恭子 Kyoko (Samara Barzane): apologies but I must scoot
[10:46] Ranma Tardis: go ahead Rosie
[10:46] Rosie Gray: bye Kyoko
[10:46] Rosie Gray: thank you Ranma

[10:50] Ranma Tardis: a saturday
[10:50] Laura Azalee: Saturdays are generally possible for me at this time or earlier
[10:51] Bagheera Kristan: 21st of April is fine for me, but that seems a bit far away
[10:51] Bagheera Kristan: do we want one the week before?
[10:51] Ranma Tardis: do we have anything for the agenda?
[10:51] Laura Azalee: 11 am is too late for me
