CDS 2024 - twenty years of virtual democracy
We will build an exhibition space typical of the architecture of the five regions of the Confederation of Democratic Simulators - a ten-year old self-governing democratic community and one of the oldest continuous SL projects.
The exhibit will illustrate our ten year history but also project into the future to describe our 'future history' and that of SL.
Concepts of liberty, freedom, democracy, self-governance and the rule of law are all expressions of the 'empires of the mind' which Churchill was referring to.
This exhibit will enable us to tell a story about our next ten years. Some thoughts include:
* the civil rights struggle of sentient bots for citizenship in the CDS (granted 2018)
* new regions added to the CDS (Neufreistadt East 2014, Moon Colony 2018, Pandora 2022)
* birthday wishes from our current citizens to the citizens of 202
