[2023/01/08 12:12] Almut Brunswick: I'm sorry for that, and we need to work out later how we can affirm him asap, because the announcement was not published 24 h before the meeting

[2023/01/08 12:14] Almut Brunswick: 1.2 Review and approval of the Minutes of the Second RA Meeting on December 18, 2022 viewtopic.php?t=10189
[2023/01/08 12:15] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ok, hmm
[2023/01/08 12:15] Sandy Burgess: I read through them and they look ok to me
[2023/01/08 12:15] Almut Brunswick: That was my impression, too
[2023/01/08 12:15] Jerry McNally: That's a relief
[2023/01/08 12:15] Almut Brunswick: All good, Jerry:D
[2023/01/08 12:16] Almut Brunswick: Motion to accept the Minutes as presented.
[2023/01/08 12:16] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me just grumbles about the lateness of the minutes
[2023/01/08 12:16] Gwyneth Llewelyn: But I second the motion
[2023/01/08 12:16] Almut Brunswick: No, no, they Minutes were even quite early
[2023/01/08 12:16] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Oh! Then that's ok.
[2023/01/08 12:16] Gwyneth Llewelyn: I was just waiting for them eagerly :) ... and then I hadn't time to read them lol
[2023/01/08 12:16] Jerry McNally: no, they were later than I normally do them, but xmas etc etc
[2023/01/08 12:17] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me *nods*
[2023/01/08 12:17] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me shuts up now
[2023/01/08 12:17] Almut Brunswick: When there isn't any further need to discuss, let's approve the minutes by vote.
[2023/01/08 12:17] Gwyneth Llewelyn: aye!
[2023/01/08 12:17] Agatha Macbeth: Aye
[2023/01/08 12:17] Sandy Burgess: aye
[2023/01/08 12:17] Jerry McNally: Aye
[2023/01/08 12:17] Almut Brunswick: Aye
[2023/01/08 12:17] Almut Brunswick: Thank you!
[2023/01/08 12:17] Almut Brunswick: 2 Executive Report (Moon) with the request to vote for the Budget for the 38th Term: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19lfq0X4Knp5oF7IR7QeADMzeOSjezW5l1-l1-Qg_Qeg/edit?usp=sharing
[2023/01/08 12:18] Almut Brunswick: Or use the box Moon has set up
[2023/01/08 12:18] Almut Brunswick: Moon, you have the stage
[2023/01/08 12:18] Moon Adamant: thank you ㋡
[2023/01/08 12:19] Moon Adamant: i have published a rationale for the Budget so to save time
[2023/01/08 12:19] Moon Adamant: should I copy paste it here?
[2023/01/08 12:19] Moon Adamant: or no need?
[2023/01/08 12:19] Jerry McNally: I'm happy with the online version
[2023/01/08 12:20] Jerry McNally: and I'll link to it in the minutes
[2023/01/08 12:20] Almut Brunswick: Online version works fine for me
[2023/01/08 12:20] Moon Adamant: ok, thanks Jerry
[2023/01/08 12:20] Sandy Burgess: For me too
[2023/01/08 12:20] Moon Adamant: everyone, the box on the ground will link to it
[2023/01/08 12:20] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me is fine with it, too, but would like to suggest Jerry to save a PDF and upload to the forums — we have no idea if the link to Google Docs will be around in 2050.
[2023/01/08 12:21] Gwyneth Llewelyn: (while we will!)
[2023/01/08 12:21] Almut Brunswick: 2050...
[2023/01/08 12:21] Jerry McNally: /me nods at Gwyneth
[2023/01/08 12:21] Moon Adamant: so the rationale resumes the Exec strategy for this term
[2023/01/08 12:23] Almut Brunswick: Any comments from the audience?
[2023/01/08 12:23] Moon Adamant: you can read that the strategy is based on targets that we plan to achieve in order to reach break-even in our main financial commitment, which is the regions LL tier
[2023/01/08 12:23] Almut Brunswick: Sorry, I didn't want interrupt
[2023/01/08 12:23] Moon Adamant: oh, not a problem
[2023/01/08 12:23] Moon Adamant: i would ask for questions too ㋡
[2023/01/08 12:23] Moon Adamant: /me looks around
[2023/01/08 12:24] Almut Brunswick: Any questions from the RA?
[2023/01/08 12:24] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me just wanted to commend the excellent work done by the Exec team on this term's budget
[2023/01/08 12:24] Moon Adamant: /me blushes
[2023/01/08 12:24] Almut Brunswick: Yes, I second that, and the rationale is a good addition.
[2023/01/08 12:24] Gwyneth Llewelyn: But no real questions. This is a strategic document, after all, not a tactical one :) So I'll be following developments with the utmost interest :)
[2023/01/08 12:24] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me agrees on the rationale, too
[2023/01/08 12:25] Almut Brunswick: People, feed the owls!
[2023/01/08 12:25] Almut Brunswick: :D
[2023/01/08 12:25] Gwyneth Llewelyn: i.e. we can blame the Chancellor if the goals aren't met hehe
[2023/01/08 12:25] Jerry McNally: I like the focus on the brand and website
[2023/01/08 12:25] Sandy Burgess: And rez more prims ... so you need more land
[2023/01/08 12:25] Moon Adamant: surely you can
[2023/01/08 12:25] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Aye, indeed! Feed them until they're fat and cannot fly away!
[2023/01/08 12:26] Moon Adamant: we are pursuing even more strategies now that at the writing of the budget
[2023/01/08 12:26] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Indeed, Jerry, that website requires a lot of work... I don't envy the Execuive :P
[2023/01/08 12:26] Almut Brunswick: They cannot fly since Tor has fixed their claws with superglue :D - When there aren't any further questions, also from the audience, I propose to consider voting.
[2023/01/08 12:26] Moon Adamant: and so I hope to come back soon and report on those
[2023/01/08 12:27] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Audience: question now, or be doomed to remain silent for six months! :-)
[2023/01/08 12:27] Almut Brunswick: hehe, yes, well put!
[2023/01/08 12:27] Moon Adamant: :-D
[2023/01/08 12:27] Garnet Psaltery: :D
[2023/01/08 12:27] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Don't be shy, guys :)
[2023/01/08 12:27] Moon Adamant: ask away ㋡
[2023/01/08 12:28] Almut Brunswick: Motion to accept the CDS Budget for the 38th Term as presented.
[2023/01/08 12:28] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Oh I most definitely and whole-heartedly second that!
[2023/01/08 12:28] Jerry McNally: sorry, just a quick question
[2023/01/08 12:28] Almut Brunswick: Go ahead
[2023/01/08 12:29] Jerry McNally: I was looking for the link to the previous budget viewtopic.php?t=10013
[2023/01/08 12:29] Jerry McNally: the Linden Tier expenses is expected to be much lower, if I'm reading it right?
[2023/01/08 12:30] Jerry McNally: not sure why that would be? done.
[2023/01/08 12:30] Moon Adamant: just a sec, let me open those two docs
[2023/01/08 12:30] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Oh? I wonder if that's just the US$-L$ conversion rate?
[2023/01/08 12:31] Jerry McNally: oh yes, I'd forgotten about that
[2023/01/08 12:31] Lilith Ivory: wasn't there something about added VAT lately?
[2023/01/08 12:32] Moon Adamant: possibly, can also be this
[2023/01/08 12:32] Lilith Ivory: we can check the finances report from last month to see how much we paid LL
[2023/01/08 12:32] Moon Adamant: the LL tier expense was calculated on the data from the financial reports June to November 2022, as they were the most recent numbers available
[2023/01/08 12:32] Almut Brunswick: Good idea
[2023/01/08 12:33] Moon Adamant: so it is an average of those 5 months
[2023/01/08 12:33] Almut Brunswick: Ah, so then you used the last data as basis anyway
[2023/01/08 12:33] Moon Adamant: yes
[2023/01/08 12:34] Moon Adamant: but averaged, not the last value per se, as those values depend on the US$ to L$ conversion rate that is in flow
[2023/01/08 12:34] Almut Brunswick: Ok, then I actually don't see another obstacle to affirm the budget by vote now.
[2023/01/08 12:34] Jerry McNally: Yes, more than happy to proceed
[2023/01/08 12:34] Gwyneth Llewelyn: The L$ is actually on a slight rise... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1i-CwRNe5KTIl98q5jdF8ftD-Ops8LG80gZZimQ3o_4c/edit#gid=974636915 (green line)
[2023/01/08 12:35] Almut Brunswick: Good, that is likely the reason for the deviation
[2023/01/08 12:35] Almut Brunswick: We already had a second for the voting. Shall we continue with the vote now?
[2023/01/08 12:35] Jerry McNally: Aye
[2023/01/08 12:35] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Aye!
[2023/01/08 12:35] Agatha Macbeth: Aye
[2023/01/08 12:35] Almut Brunswick: Aye
[2023/01/08 12:35] Sandy Burgess: aye
[2023/01/08 12:36] Almut Brunswick: Thank you! Moon, you have your budget :D
[2023/01/08 12:36] Rosie Gray: clap clap clap
[2023/01/08 12:36] Moon Adamant: /me bows to the RA ㋡
[2023/01/08 12:36] Rosie Gray: yay
[2023/01/08 12:36] Gwyneth Llewelyn: yay \o/
[2023/01/08 12:36] Almut Brunswick: When you don't have any further topics to report now, we can continue
[2023/01/08 12:37] Almut Brunswick: 3 Land-Use Commission Report (Agatha)
[2023/01/08 12:37] Moon Adamant: do carry on, as topis to report are in teh agenda anyway
[2023/01/08 12:37] Agatha Macbeth: Thank you LRA
[2023/01/08 12:38] Agatha Macbeth: The LUC meeting originally slated for yesterday was moved to next week owing to the SL20B / CDS20B Event Organisation Meeting
[2023/01/08 12:38] Gwyneth Llewelyn: :)
[2023/01/08 12:38] Agatha Macbeth: Hence I don't actually have anything to report!
[2023/01/08 12:38] Jerry McNally: nice and quick!
[2023/01/08 12:38] Almut Brunswick: Thank you, Agatha
[2023/01/08 12:38] Agatha Macbeth: Yay
[2023/01/08 12:39] Almut Brunswick: 4 Old Business
4.1 Call for a MoCA Curator
[2023/01/08 12:39] Gwyneth Llewelyn: hehe
[2023/01/08 12:39] Almut Brunswick: Well, apparently I caused a headache or misunderstanding for poor Kyoko.
[2023/01/08 12:39] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ah! :(
[2023/01/08 12:39] Agatha Macbeth: Aww
[2023/01/08 12:40] Garnet Psaltery: Sorry I have to go just now.
[2023/01/08 12:40] Moon Adamant: /me raises hand to talk when appropriate
[2023/01/08 12:40] Almut Brunswick: Bottom line is that she drew back her application as MoCA Curator
[2023/01/08 12:40] Agatha Macbeth: Be well Garnet
[2023/01/08 12:40] Moon Adamant: cheers Garnet!
[2023/01/08 12:40] Almut Brunswick: Yes please, Moon!
[2023/01/08 12:40] Gwyneth Llewelyn: (take care, Garnet!)
[2023/01/08 12:41] Moon Adamant: ok thank you Madam LRA
[2023/01/08 12:41] Agatha Macbeth: Yes headache and back ache together are not a fun thing
[2023/01/08 12:41] Gwyneth Llewelyn: :-(
[2023/01/08 12:41] Moon Adamant: as you can read in the application sent
[2023/01/08 12:41] Moon Adamant: the curatorship was a joint curatorship
[2023/01/08 12:42] Moon Adamant: the fact is that after we set up Coming of Age in the CDS exhibition (still there to be seen!)
[2023/01/08 12:42] Moon Adamant: we created a sequel exhibition that relates to it
[2023/01/08 12:43] Moon Adamant: and thus we applied again
[2023/01/08 12:43] Moon Adamant: so I would like to propose
[2023/01/08 12:44] Moon Adamant: that you can still consider that application for myself
[2023/01/08 12:45] Moon Adamant: I can delegate work and engage other co-curators, I belive. In fact, I do want to do that as we have other venues also falling under the MoCA curatorship
[2023/01/08 12:46] Moon Adamant: so while keeping the main commitment to MoCA space, we can take the chance to have other curatorships projects going on
[2023/01/08 12:47] Moon Adamant: thank you
[2023/01/08 12:47] Almut Brunswick: What do my fellow RA members think about it?
[2023/01/08 12:47] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me just wonders: is the next exhibit ready?
[2023/01/08 12:48] Jerry McNally: I think it's a great plan, if Moon thinks she can manage the commitments
[2023/01/08 12:48] Moon Adamant: if i may: yes, we just need to upload the images and put them on display
[2023/01/08 12:48] Gwyneth Llewelyn: ok, plus the information on the images, announcements, etc
[2023/01/08 12:49] Moon Adamant: well, information is part of teh curatorships' project, it is done
[2023/01/08 12:49] Gwyneth Llewelyn: good!
[2023/01/08 12:49] Almut Brunswick: I must grin a bit - not because of Moon's initiative and willingness to take it over, but because of our discussion if the MoCA Curator nomination should be left to the Executive or not.
[2023/01/08 12:49] Moon Adamant: the announcements etc is part of the Exec PR which is a daily task ㋡
[2023/01/08 12:50] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me grins back @ Almut
[2023/01/08 12:50] Almut Brunswick: So in case the MoCA Curator would fall completely in the discretion of the Chancellor, Moon could elect - herself :D
[2023/01/08 12:50] Rosie Gray: /me grins at all the grinning
[2023/01/08 12:50] Moon Adamant: /me wonders if it's grinning season
[2023/01/08 12:50] Agatha Macbeth: /me grins
[2023/01/08 12:50] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Yep. Just wait, Almut, I was just waiting for the minutes of the last meeting... *cackles evilly*
[2023/01/08 12:51] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ok! No more questions from me I suppose, so, sure, Moon, go ahead with your plan :)
[2023/01/08 12:51] Gwyneth Llewelyn: I mean uh
[2023/01/08 12:51] Moon Adamant: /me sits again
[2023/01/08 12:51] Gwyneth Llewelyn: motion to vote on the Chancellor's plan?
[2023/01/08 12:51] Almut Brunswick: Anyway, to finish this topic, I propose we follow the "original" Law and vote for Moon as MoCA Curator.
[2023/01/08 12:51] Almut Brunswick: Yes, I second that
[2023/01/08 12:52] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ok, I withdraw my motion and second Almut's as amended :)
[2023/01/08 12:52] Gwyneth Llewelyn: (just for clarifying)
[2023/01/08 12:52] Almut Brunswick: Further comments or questions? No? Let's vote :D
[2023/01/08 12:52] Gwyneth Llewelyn: hehe — aye :)
[2023/01/08 12:52] Sandy Burgess: Aye
[2023/01/08 12:52] Agatha Macbeth: Aye
[2023/01/08 12:52] Jerry McNally: Aye
[2023/01/08 12:52] Almut Brunswick: Aye
[2023/01/08 12:53] Almut Brunswick: Congratulations, Madame Chancellor, now you are our new MoCA Curator
[2023/01/08 12:53] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Good! Congrats, Moon :)
[2023/01/08 12:53] Moon Adamant: /me bows to the RA again
[2023/01/08 12:53] Lilith Ivory: /me wonders about Brightly
[2023/01/08 12:53] Almut Brunswick: (Do you fit in kimonos? ^^)
[2023/01/08 12:53] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me kicks Lilith
[2023/01/08 12:53] Moon Adamant: oh just a word
[2023/01/08 12:53] Gwyneth Llewelyn: haha Almut!!
[2023/01/08 12:53] Rosie Gray: I was wondering about Brightly too
[2023/01/08 12:53] Lilith Ivory: /me shuts up
[2023/01/08 12:53] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me cannot kick a fellow RA member, so...
[2023/01/08 12:54] Almut Brunswick: No, no., that is a good and valid point, Lilith and Rosie
[2023/01/08 12:54] Agatha Macbeth: /me nods
[2023/01/08 12:54] Gwyneth Llewelyn: *sigh*
[2023/01/08 12:54] Sandy Burgess: /me wonders who or what is brightly
[2023/01/08 12:54] Moon Adamant: i hereby formally invite Brightly as curator-in-training and will contact her asap ㋡
[2023/01/08 12:54] Agatha Macbeth: Good idea
[2023/01/08 12:54] Almut Brunswick: But Brightly doesn't want this term to become the MoCA Curator, however, she is happy to support Moon in the MoCA team
[2023/01/08 12:54] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ok! Sandy, Brightly is a fellow citizen!
[2023/01/08 12:55] Almut Brunswick: Yes, Moon, that is exactly the plan
[2023/01/08 12:55] Moon Adamant: as said, we have at least two other venues
[2023/01/08 12:55] Gwyneth Llewelyn: And next term we'll elect Brightly instead :)
[2023/01/08 12:56] Almut Brunswick: Nods, Gwyn
[2023/01/08 12:56] Moon Adamant: next term you will do as you please ㋡
[2023/01/08 12:56] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me *nods* @ Moon — plenty of room for curator trainees
[2023/01/08 12:56] Lilith Ivory: hehe
[2023/01/08 12:56] Agatha Macbeth: Still a shame about Kyoko :(
[2023/01/08 12:56] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Aye :-(
[2023/01/08 12:56] Almut Brunswick: I think it was my steamrolling way of writing information. It was very likely a misconception.
[2023/01/08 12:57] Agatha Macbeth: Aww
[2023/01/08 12:57] Gwyneth Llewelyn: So long as it's clarified, I guess we're good!
[2023/01/08 12:57] Almut Brunswick: But you know her - she is then mad at me and the rest of the world, so excuses and arguments cannot reach her in that particular momemnt
[2023/01/08 12:57] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me *coughs*
[2023/01/08 12:58] Almut Brunswick: But it will sort out, I'm sure
[2023/01/08 12:58] Almut Brunswick: 4.2 CDSL 31-1 MoCA Curator Appointment
[2023/01/08 12:58] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me mumbles something about the diva-ness status of all CDS citizens, self included
[2023/01/08 12:58] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ok hmm
[2023/01/08 12:58] Gwyneth Llewelyn: We did 4.2?
[2023/01/08 12:58] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me is confused
[2023/01/08 12:58] Almut Brunswick: this is the law you wanted to change or even repeal
[2023/01/08 12:59] Almut Brunswick: and I tell you what: I would keep it as it is - we have just seen why :D
[2023/01/08 12:59] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ah yes, I propose to table it until next meeting — sorry guys
[2023/01/08 12:59] Almut Brunswick: Ok, there is a forum thread now. Please use it, if needed.
[2023/01/08 13:00] Gwyneth Llewelyn: "it" being "the discussion around it", since there has been no time for me to get the discussion running on the forums; I will do that, thanks! :)
[2023/01/08 13:00] Almut Brunswick: 4.3 Request to RA by the SC: Modification of NL 7-1 Government Question Time Act, Section 5
* Link to the Forum discussion: viewtopic.php?t=9428
[2023/01/08 13:00] Almut Brunswick: That was this other topic when Gwyn had this aha! moment that this discussion is pretty long and old.
[2023/01/08 13:01] Almut Brunswick: I like Lilith's comment in the thread that the bureaucratic effort should be in a realistic relation to the people really showing up for the Q&A hours.
[2023/01/08 13:02] Gwyneth Llewelyn: hehe I like that comment too ;)
[2023/01/08 13:03] Gwyneth Llewelyn: So, what do you propose, Almut?
[2023/01/08 13:03] Almut Brunswick: So before burning "brain lard" in another rework of the law, we should practice pragmatic ways to attract new and potential citizens in the way Moon, Delia and I agreed upon in the last days of the old year.
[2023/01/08 13:04] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me *scratches head*
[2023/01/08 13:04] Gwyneth Llewelyn: And how exactly will that apply to NL 7-1, then?
[2023/01/08 13:04] Almut Brunswick: The SC has proposed a slight rewording that is ok, but also enough IMHO.
[2023/01/08 13:04] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Ok.
[2023/01/08 13:05] Almut Brunswick: We shouldn't rewrite the entire law.
[2023/01/08 13:05] Almut Brunswick: But...that is only my opinion.
[2023/01/08 13:05] Almut Brunswick: What do you say?
[2023/01/08 13:06] Agatha Macbeth: I tend to agree
[2023/01/08 13:06] Jerry McNally: Shall we see how the first meeting goes, and revisit it then if we need to?
[2023/01/08 13:06] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me is fine with the pragmatic approach, and I agree with Jerry
[2023/01/08 13:06] Almut Brunswick: Yes, Jerry, that is a good idea.
[2023/01/08 13:06] Sandy Burgess: Sounds good to me.
[2023/01/08 13:07] Almut Brunswick: The first Q&A will be Sunday, Jan 15 - next week
[2023/01/08 13:07] Almut Brunswick: So we can put it on the agenda for our next RA meeting and then agree what to do (or not) next.
[2023/01/08 13:08] Gwyneth Llewelyn: AH ok — I was just giong to ask that! lol
[2023/01/08 13:08] Almut Brunswick: So when you are good with it, I would like to table this topic till then.
[2023/01/08 13:08] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me seconds that
[2023/01/08 13:08] Almut Brunswick: Good
[2023/01/08 13:09] Almut Brunswick: Let's proceed
[2023/01/08 13:09] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Oh, 5.1 is surely a piece of cake lol
[2023/01/08 13:09] Almut Brunswick: 5 New Business
5.1 Nomination of Joaquin Gustav as CDS Artist in Residence

[2023/01/08 13:09] Almut Brunswick: yes, sorry again that I forgot to put it on the agenda in due time
[2023/01/08 13:09] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me moves to nominate Joaquin Gustav as CDS Artist in Residence without further discussion :-)
[2023/01/08 13:09] Almut Brunswick: But maybe Moon can tell us more about the candidate
[2023/01/08 13:10] Moon Adamant: /me stands up
[2023/01/08 13:10] Agatha Macbeth: Yay
[2023/01/08 13:10] Agatha Macbeth: He's good
[2023/01/08 13:10] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Joaquín does not need an introduction! lol
[2023/01/08 13:10] Gwyneth Llewelyn: (sorry Moon)
[2023/01/08 13:10] Moon Adamant: well, I don't need to present Joaquin Gustav
[2023/01/08 13:10] Almut Brunswick: Oh he does - I have no clue who he is
[2023/01/08 13:10] Gwyneth Llewelyn: what! lol
[2023/01/08 13:11] Sandy Burgess: Me neither
[2023/01/08 13:11] Moon Adamant: he has performed several times before at the CDS
[2023/01/08 13:11] Jerry McNally: Check him out on https://twitter.com/joaquingustav
[2023/01/08 13:11] Almut Brunswick: Jerry, I don't have a Twitter account
[2023/01/08 13:11] Delia Lake: /me raises her hand
[2023/01/08 13:11] Lilith Ivory: he even was a citizen several times in the past :)
[2023/01/08 13:11] Jerry McNally: Although he's not used that since 2016
[2023/01/08 13:11] Almut Brunswick: and I insist on barrier-free information.
[2023/01/08 13:11] Moon Adamant: exactly Lil
[2023/01/08 13:12] Moon Adamant: Joaquin plays Tango, Latin, Smooth Jazz and South American Music
[2023/01/08 13:12] Jerry McNally: (Almut, you can follow the link without logging in)
[2023/01/08 13:12] Agatha Macbeth: (There's a topic for Thinkers)
[2023/01/08 13:12] Delia Lake: Joaquin was not only a citizen of AA and the CDS in the past, he also participated in our government
[2023/01/08 13:12] Moon Adamant: he is an acclaimed musician that has won the Avi Choice Award "Favorite Male Musician" in 2012
[2023/01/08 13:13] Moon Adamant: we have been talking to him in what regards this residency
[2023/01/08 13:13] Moon Adamant: not only he agrees to teh terms of teh residency
[2023/01/08 13:13] Moon Adamant: which imply that he will do one live event at the CDS during this term
[2023/01/08 13:13] Moon Adamant: as Joaquin is also a learned scholar in musicology
[2023/01/08 13:14] Moon Adamant: and proposes also to carry on a cycle of edu events on musicology
[2023/01/08 13:14] Agatha Macbeth: Wonderful
[2023/01/08 13:14] Almut Brunswick: so we can impress the VWEC folks once more
[2023/01/08 13:14] Gwyneth Llewelyn: (e.g. a nod to our VWEC folks...)
[2023/01/08 13:14] Moon Adamant: I must say that i am absolutely thrilled at this!
[2023/01/08 13:14] Gwyneth Llewelyn: hehe exactly Almut
[2023/01/08 13:14] Rosie Gray: :D
[2023/01/08 13:15] Moon Adamant: so please consider this nomination ㋡
[2023/01/08 13:15] Sandy Burgess: /me nods. Sounds good to me. Looking forward to meeting him
[2023/01/08 13:15] Moon Adamant: /me sits down, thanks
[2023/01/08 13:15] Lilith Ivory: he is such a nice guy :)
[2023/01/08 13:15] Rosie Gray: and a wonderful musician
[2023/01/08 13:15] Moon Adamant: i won't even comment on how NICE Joaquin is!! ㋡
[2023/01/08 13:16] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me is actually ecstatic about it, too, and hopes that this concept of Artist-in-Residence continues far beyond this term!
[2023/01/08 13:16] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Although we might not be able to get another Joaquin Gustav lol — there is only one :)
[2023/01/08 13:17] Almut Brunswick: Ok, convinced. We elect him. Formally - and that was my fault - the vote could not be given today because of the 24 h between agenda publishing and meeting. But since 1. everybody with some few exceptions know him very well and 2. most of the SC is attending the meeting, I propose to make an exception and to vote for Joaquin today as our CDS Artist in Residence.
[2023/01/08 13:17] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me *snickers*
[2023/01/08 13:18] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me seconds a) the exception and Yeah! the vote to nominate Joaquín as the CDS Artist in Residence
[2023/01/08 13:18] Almut Brunswick: /me bends the Constitution and makes a knot in it
[2023/01/08 13:18] Gwyneth Llewelyn: no no, I'm pretty sure the agenda *can* be changed, so long as a majority agrees!
[2023/01/08 13:18] Almut Brunswick: Ok, when you all agree, let's vote then
[2023/01/08 13:18] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me agrees.
[2023/01/08 13:18] Jerry McNally: Aye
[2023/01/08 13:18] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me also votes aye!
[2023/01/08 13:18] Sandy Burgess: Agree and aye
[2023/01/08 13:18] Agatha Macbeth: Aye
[2023/01/08 13:18] Almut Brunswick: Aye
[2023/01/08 13:19] Almut Brunswick: So it looks like we have our CDS Artist in Residence :D
[2023/01/08 13:19] Rosie Gray: clap clap clap
[2023/01/08 13:19] Almut Brunswick: Will you inform Joaquin, Moon?
[2023/01/08 13:19] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Nominated with two agrees and five ayes? :)
[2023/01/08 13:19] Rosie Gray: yay, that's super!
[2023/01/08 13:19] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Joaquin, wherever you are, congratulations!!
[2023/01/08 13:20] Almut Brunswick: /me needs a Tango dress
[2023/01/08 13:20] Agatha Macbeth: With a helmet
[2023/01/08 13:20] Gwyneth Llewelyn: ^^
[2023/01/08 13:20] Almut Brunswick: Sure, and safety shoes
[2023/01/08 13:20] Rosie Gray: another opportunity for shopping, Almut!
[2023/01/08 13:20] Lilith Ivory: /me wonders if Ms Chancellor has decided yet where he will move in
[2023/01/08 13:20] Almut Brunswick: Lilith, he will reside in your Cabaret
[2023/01/08 13:20] Almut Brunswick: and make it to a Tango Palace
[2023/01/08 13:21] Lilith Ivory: /me didn't know Almut is Ms chancellor now ;-)
[2023/01/08 13:21] Almut Brunswick: That was just an assumption
[2023/01/08 13:21] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me *coughs*
[2023/01/08 13:21] Delia Lake: /me has some well preserved tango dresses
[2023/01/08 13:21] Lilith Ivory: /me giggles
[2023/01/08 13:22] Almut Brunswick: Ok, let's continue: 6 Citizen Concerns
[2023/01/08 13:22] Sandy Burgess: /me wonders where to get Tango animations
[2023/01/08 13:22] Almut Brunswick: and all instructions are in Finnish
[2023/01/08 13:22] Lilith Ivory: A&M animations are awesome
[2023/01/08 13:23] Sandy Burgess: I'll ask Elfbiter
[2023/01/08 13:23] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me wonders if we get enough partners in the CDS for those Tangos....
[2023/01/08 13:23] Almut Brunswick: Nothing to complain?
[2023/01/08 13:23] Agatha Macbeth: :P
[2023/01/08 13:23] Almut Brunswick: Jerry must learn Tango dancing!
[2023/01/08 13:23] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me also shuts up and lets the citizens to express their concerns.
[2023/01/08 13:23] Almut Brunswick: That is his duty for the fatherland!
[2023/01/08 13:23] Lilith Ivory: is too busy to be concerned atm :)
[2023/01/08 13:23] Jerry McNally: that is so not going to happen, sorry
[2023/01/08 13:23] Lilith Ivory: YIKES Almut
[2023/01/08 13:23] Rosie Gray: lol, Jerry
[2023/01/08 13:23] Gwyneth Llewelyn: haha Jerry!
[2023/01/08 13:24] Almut Brunswick: Ok folks, that was your chance... 7 RA Member Concerns
[2023/01/08 13:24] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me wants a redecoration of the Praetorium!
[2023/01/08 13:25] Jerry McNally: I am unconcerned (so long as compulsory dancing is off the agenda)
[2023/01/08 13:25] Almut Brunswick: Gwyn, talk to the LUC and make a proposal
[2023/01/08 13:25] Rosie Gray: what's wrong with the praetorium?
[2023/01/08 13:26] Lilith Ivory: and don't forget to give us filled form A5 and B23
[2023/01/08 13:26] Lilith Ivory: twice please
[2023/01/08 13:26] Almut Brunswick: Oh by the way, I have a concern
[2023/01/08 13:26] Gwyneth Llewelyn: hmm. it's dated, Rosie!
[2023/01/08 13:26] Rosie Gray: /me pouts
[2023/01/08 13:26] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Lil: I will, all the forms you need!
[2023/01/08 13:26] Lilith Ivory: hehe
[2023/01/08 13:26] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Unless, of course, I'm just the only person 'concerned' about it — in which case I'll just shut up
[2023/01/08 13:27] Lilith Ivory: /me wonders if Sandy still has that Asterix link handy ;-)
[2023/01/08 13:27] Gwyneth Llewelyn: haha
[2023/01/08 13:27] Moon Adamant: :-D
[2023/01/08 13:27] Sandy Burgess: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2pcn3j
[2023/01/08 13:27] Almut Brunswick: When bringing up topics like "how should the CDS flag look like?" and it is said we discuss it in the Forum, and then nothing happens, then please consider not to ask here first.
[2023/01/08 13:27] Lilith Ivory: /me giggles
[2023/01/08 13:27] Moon Adamant: oh i wanted to ask about that too
[2023/01/08 13:27] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Sorry, Almut, I've voiced the only concern I had for today, so feel free to go ahead with yours :)
[2023/01/08 13:28] Agatha Macbeth: Six stars!
[2023/01/08 13:28] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me apologises for the chat lag, sorry
[2023/01/08 13:28] Moon Adamant: /me raises hand
[2023/01/08 13:29] Almut Brunswick: I even vote for NO stars, but make a heraldry-proof use of stripes (where is the black from the owl's background?). Anyway - put it in the Forum.
[2023/01/08 13:29] Almut Brunswick: Moon please
[2023/01/08 13:29] Moon Adamant: i just wanted to ask: i read the minutes... who should put it in the forum? RA?
[2023/01/08 13:30] Lilith Ivory: I would think so
[2023/01/08 13:30] Almut Brunswick: Preferably the RA member who raised the question
[2023/01/08 13:30] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Aye, but, alas, we're all for open government, so in theory, anyone can :)
[2023/01/08 13:30] Almut Brunswick: Yes, Gwyn, but when it burns on your nails, please set up the Forum thread then.
[2023/01/08 13:30] Lilith Ivory: there is always the risc of stepping on someone toes by accident :)
[2023/01/08 13:31] Moon Adamant: ok, thanks
[2023/01/08 13:31] Almut Brunswick: My preferred way of moving, Lilith
[2023/01/08 13:31] Lilith Ivory: hehe
[2023/01/08 13:31] Jerry McNally: Perhaps, if the thread is an action noted in the minutes, the RA Archivist should start it?
[2023/01/08 13:31] Lilith Ivory: /me looks down at the steel caps of her boots
[2023/01/08 13:31] Jerry McNally: just a thought
[2023/01/08 13:31] Gwyneth Llewelyn: hehe :)
[2023/01/08 13:32] Almut Brunswick: Yes, well, I did it this time for the other question to be discussed
[2023/01/08 13:32] Almut Brunswick: this MoCA topic
[2023/01/08 13:32] Almut Brunswick: but yes, the Archivist could do it when it is an action in the Minutes
[2023/01/08 13:33] Moon Adamant: go for it Jerry ㋡
[2023/01/08 13:33] Gwyneth Llewelyn: ok, ok
[2023/01/08 13:33] Almut Brunswick: 8 Announcements
* Calendar: https://cdsdemocracy.org/
[2023/01/08 13:33] Almut Brunswick: Some comments about this?
[2023/01/08 13:33] Almut Brunswick: (Jerry is typing, sorry)
[2023/01/08 13:34] Jerry McNally: sorry, nothing
[2023/01/08 13:34] Gwyneth Llewelyn: You mean hmm — we should have more events in the calendar? :)
[2023/01/08 13:34] Lilith Ivory: I am confused about the event in the venus cafe
[2023/01/08 13:34] Lilith Ivory: did the time move?
[2023/01/08 13:34] Jerry McNally: was going to make a stupid joke about starting a thread about who should start threads, but then thought better of it
[2023/01/08 13:34] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me *giggles* @ Jerry
[2023/01/08 13:34] Moon Adamant: well, Exec is quite pro-active about scheduling things on the CDS Calendar... ㋡
[2023/01/08 13:34] Moon Adamant: lol Jerry
[2023/01/08 13:35] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me notices that her own events seem not to appear on the Calendar
[2023/01/08 13:35] Sandy Burgess: I have a question
[2023/01/08 13:35] Almut Brunswick: Sandy raises her hand
[2023/01/08 13:35] Gwyneth Llewelyn: ... which is normal, since I don't have the power to udate it
[2023/01/08 13:35] Gwyneth Llewelyn: sorry
[2023/01/08 13:35] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me shuts up again
[2023/01/08 13:35] Moon Adamant: i put them there :-P
[2023/01/08 13:35] Sandy Burgess: Who has access to the calendar and is in charge of editing events?
[2023/01/08 13:36] Moon Adamant: Exec has, Chancellor and PIOs
[2023/01/08 13:36] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Oh, surely the Exec? (PIOs)
[2023/01/08 13:36] Gwyneth Llewelyn: whoops sorry Moon :)
[2023/01/08 13:36] Gwyneth Llewelyn: you type faster!
[2023/01/08 13:36] Moon Adamant: though not all PIOs use it
[2023/01/08 13:36] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Shame on them! Tsk tsk
[2023/01/08 13:36] Moon Adamant: then SC and RA?
[2023/01/08 13:36] Almut Brunswick: Yes
[2023/01/08 13:36] Moon Adamant: oh no need, we are a team
[2023/01/08 13:37] Almut Brunswick: I can put things in the calendar, too
[2023/01/08 13:37] Gwyneth Llewelyn: /me *scratches head*
[2023/01/08 13:37] Lilith Ivory: I can too
[2023/01/08 13:37] Gwyneth Llewelyn: O-kay...?
[2023/01/08 13:37] Almut Brunswick: Sandy, do you have meanwhile access to the Forum categories?
[2023/01/08 13:37] Delia Lake: so can I
[2023/01/08 13:37] Gwyneth Llewelyn: So all branches can place things on the calendar. Good!
[2023/01/08 13:37] Sandy Burgess: I have no idea if I have access to it. I have been added to the RA group in the forum
[2023/01/08 13:38] Almut Brunswick: Yes, then it is good
[2023/01/08 13:38] Gwyneth Llewelyn: That should do it!
[2023/01/08 13:38] Almut Brunswick: Ok, further statements?
[2023/01/08 13:38] Rosie Gray: /me raises a hand
[2023/01/08 13:38] Almut Brunswick: Rosie
[2023/01/08 13:39] Rosie Gray: perhaps everyone doesn't know that if they are hosting an event that they can ask the Chancellor or a PIO to add their event to the cDS calendar... events being held here, that is?
[2023/01/08 13:39] Moon Adamant: possibly not, but yes, you sure can!
[2023/01/08 13:39] Moon Adamant: in fact, you SHOULD
[2023/01/08 13:39] Rosie Gray: since the Venus Cafe events aren't CDS events, but Kyoko can post them of course
[2023/01/08 13:39] Gwyneth Llewelyn: you MUST
[2023/01/08 13:39] Rosie Gray: herself, but others can't do that
[2023/01/08 13:39] Rosie Gray: done
[2023/01/08 13:40] Moon Adamant: as we are atm also enhancing our FB activity
[2023/01/08 13:40] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Oh! I see your point, Rosie
[2023/01/08 13:40] Moon Adamant: ad hopefully other social media soon enough as well
[2023/01/08 13:41] Almut Brunswick: Ok, one request or proposal: When you schedule planning activities, please consider that not all interested European residents use to stay awake beyond midnight
[2023/01/08 13:41] Almut Brunswick: That is possible for me at times when I have holidays, but usually not.
[2023/01/08 13:41] Moon Adamant: yes, but the issue there is many time zones
[2023/01/08 13:42] Lilith Ivory: and that for other europeans the time between 21.00 AND MIDNIGHT IS RESERVED FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN RL :)
[2023/01/08 13:42] Lilith Ivory: 8sorry for caps)
[2023/01/08 13:42] Almut Brunswick: That is not a valid excuse. We sit here together right now with people from various time zones.
[2023/01/08 13:42] Moon Adamant: we run from GMT-1 to GMT+8
[2023/01/08 13:42] Jerry McNally: you can't please all the people all the time...
[2023/01/08 13:43] Moon Adamant: but we have that in consideration, and that's why we will do a poll at the Celebration Group forum thread asking for best hours to meet
[2023/01/08 13:44] Almut Brunswick: or when you schedule for various time zones, then try to consider to move the times that either Euros or Americans can take part....however, it is better to have them all together
