[2024/01/07 10:19] Almut Brunswick: 2 Executive Report (Tor) with presenting the Budget for the 40th Term: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=10502
[2024/01/07 10:20] Almut Brunswick: Mr. Chancellor, you have the stage
[2024/01/07 10:20] Tor Karlsvalt: Thank you
[2024/01/07 10:20] Tor Karlsvalt: Let's hope this works
[2024/01/07 10:20] Tor Karlsvalt: Chancellor Report 7 January 2024
[2024/01/07 10:20] Tor Karlsvalt: Good morning, Madam LRA, members of the RA and public.
[2024/01/07 10:20] Tor Karlsvalt: We finished last term with a small profit of over L$20K. Land sales and even the tip jars contributed.
[2024/01/07 10:20] Tor Karlsvalt: The Summer/Fall term is always hectic, with SLB and Octoberfest bookending the term. All went well thanks to the good work of your citizens.
[2024/01/07 10:21] Tor Karlsvalt: Of course, we cannot recap the 39th Term without thanking the work of our citizens and especially the people of Amiais, for extending their water for four open-space regions and connecting the CDS with Amiais and Etopia.
[2024/01/07 10:21] Tor Karlsvalt: The Oikoumeni Sea is a wonderful addition to our community. One of my goals this term will be to have an event with our two neighbors. Very likely we will have another Flotilla.
[2024/01/07 10:21] Tor Karlsvalt: We start the Winter/Spring term on a high note. For some time we have had more than 80 citizens. Indeed, recently we have had 85 citizens and presently would have 84, but for some late tier payments.
[2024/01/07 10:22] Tor Karlsvalt: And we have a new citizen here today, Radioactive
[2024/01/07 10:22] Tor Karlsvalt: Some of our new citizens have been active in the community. Joanne and Zoey have had gallery events. Cathy recently had a house warming. Others participate in the BBB passport stamp program. This all helps promote the CDS.
[2024/01/07 10:22] Tor Karlsvalt: Moon and I have pushed a “Alpine Holiday Home, campaign. It seems we have had at least one new citizen who purchased multiple parcels in FDS and NFS.
[2024/01/07 10:22] Rosie Gray: ㋡
[2024/01/07 10:23] Tor Karlsvalt: We have begun using Discord as a PR channel. This is in addition to our already established methods of communication and promotion, such as group notices, subscribo notices, group spam in a half dozen groups, SL Forum, CDS Forum and Facebook.
[2024/01/07 10:23] Tor Karlsvalt: We have discontinued using Twitter as that platform is becoming undesirable in respect to our community values.
[2024/01/07 10:23] Sandy Burgess: Can you please give out the discord channel, Tor?
[2024/01/07 10:23] Tor Karlsvalt: sure will
[2024/01/07 10:23] Tor Karlsvalt: sec
[2024/01/07 10:24] Lilith Ivory: it should be linked to our portal too I think
[2024/01/07 10:24] Tor Karlsvalt: I hope this is it. We are learning. https://discord.gg/YZHmw7e9
[2024/01/07 10:24] Tor Karlsvalt: Ryonen, who comes to us as an experienced Discord administrator from Builder’s Brewery, has worked with Moon and I to set up our Discord Server, known as CDS Commons. Discord represents a huge pool of Second Life residents that cannot be ignored.
[2024/01/07 10:25] Tor Karlsvalt: We have joined SL-related servers that constantly have hundreds of users online at all times.
[2024/01/07 10:25] Tor Karlsvalt: Recently we have used Discord to promote events, such as Joa’s Point of Hearing, Bea’s Swing Time, and gallery events. And we have had feedback from new people outside of CDS who were interested in our events.
[2024/01/07 10:25] Tor Karlsvalt: At present the executive is using Discord for PR and some internal communication, event PR, and land sales. Although we are working to set up channels for the community, citizens and friends, and other government branches, use is strictly voluntary and basically in just a testing mode.
[2024/01/07 10:26] Tor Karlsvalt: Last month, Moon and I developed a HUD for EMs and PIOs. This puts several things at our fingertips when handling land issues. A further goal this term will be a HUD for citizens. I hope to base this along the lines of the BBB Stamp Finder HUD. Basically, a webpage on a prim. At the moment this a concept.
[2024/01/07 10:26] Tor Karlsvalt: Of course I have submitted the budget. I have rezzed a copy of it here in the RA chamber. It is posted to the CDS Forum at: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=10502
[2024/01/07 10:26] Tor Karlsvalt: For me at least the rezzed copy isn't working.
[2024/01/07 10:26] Lilith Ivory: /me would like to have such an EM HUD too
[2024/01/07 10:26] Tor Karlsvalt: Although, I show a small deficit this term, I think we have a very good shot at breaking even this term.
[2024/01/07 10:27] Tor Karlsvalt: Sure thing Lilith
[2024/01/07 10:27] Tor Karlsvalt: As you know, we are in our 20th year here in SL. Our 20th birthday will be next term. We will be stressing our significant anniversary in our announcements. I plan on having more stamps and a special logo to commemorate our achievement.
[2024/01/07 10:27] Delia Lake: /me would like the EM hud also please
[2024/01/07 10:27] Tor Karlsvalt: Sure Delia
[2024/01/07 10:28] Tor Karlsvalt: More immediately, we will begin planning for the SL21B. This will be a good jumping off point four our own #CDS20B.
[2024/01/07 10:28] Tor Karlsvalt: I look forward to woking with you this term.
[2024/01/07 10:28] Tor Karlsvalt: Thank you,
[2024/01/07 10:28] Tor Karlsvalt: The end.
[2024/01/07 10:28] Tor Karlsvalt: :)
[2024/01/07 10:28] Almut Brunswick: Thank you, Tor. Any questions from the RA and the audience?
[2024/01/07 10:29] Jerry McNally: /me raises a hand
[2024/01/07 10:29] Lilith Ivory: /me wonders if Tor is going to present the budget too
[2024/01/07 10:29] Almut Brunswick: Jerry please
[2024/01/07 10:30] Tor Karlsvalt: I mentioned it. It is pretty much the same as always.
[2024/01/07 10:30] Almut Brunswick: Lilith, I wondered the same since I assume that Tor would like to get our vote about it :D
[2024/01/07 10:30] Lilith Ivory: exactly :)
[2024/01/07 10:30] Jerry McNally: Thanks. Just looking at the budget, just wanted to note that the deficit is much smaller than the one from the last term https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=10419 so that counts as a positive step to me
[2024/01/07 10:31] Tor Karlsvalt: Actually, last term, tho we had an expected deficit, we had a profit of over L$20K
[2024/01/07 10:31] Rosie Gray: /me raises a hand
[2024/01/07 10:31] Almut Brunswick: Rosie please
[2024/01/07 10:31] Jerry McNally: it's all good, I think. Done
[2024/01/07 10:31] Rosie Gray: thanks... Tor
[2024/01/07 10:32] Rosie Gray: I see that you have the CDS Domain registration for this year in the budget, but I don't see the hosting fees
[2024/01/07 10:32] Tor Karlsvalt: I posted the November Financial Report on the wall.
[2024/01/07 10:32] Tor Karlsvalt: hmmm
[2024/01/07 10:33] Tor Karlsvalt: I didn't see that in the last budget. Might be a mistake then.
[2024/01/07 10:34] Rosie Gray: I thought that the practice was to amortize the hosting fees every 6 months, even though we pay for it once every 2 years (I think)
[2024/01/07 10:34] Rosie Gray: since it has to be accounted for somehow
[2024/01/07 10:35] Tor Karlsvalt: Ah I see. Yet we don't always have this Domain fee
[2024/01/07 10:35] Rosie Gray: and you're right that it wasn't on the 39th term budget either
[2024/01/07 10:36] Rosie Gray: I think they at some point were rolled together
[2024/01/07 10:36] Tor Karlsvalt: It is in budgets as hosing fee of L$20K for the term
[2024/01/07 10:36] Rosie Gray: the domain and the hosting
[2024/01/07 10:36] Jerry McNally: Am I right in thinking we can't formally approve this today anyway, because it's not been on the forum for seven days? So corrections could be made and signed off formally at the next RA meeting?
[2024/01/07 10:36] Almut Brunswick: Good point, Jerry
[2024/01/07 10:36] Tor Karlsvalt: I can do that, or find out if the hosting fee is included in the domain name fee.
[2024/01/07 10:37] Lilith Ivory: /me nods in agreement
[2024/01/07 10:37] Rosie Gray: it'sk lnot
[2024/01/07 10:37] Almut Brunswick: Thank you, so we can vote over it on next RA meeting.
[2024/01/07 10:37] Rosie Gray: just seeing that the last time it was included was for the 38th term... fyi
[2024/01/07 10:37] Tor Karlsvalt: Sounds good
[2024/01/07 10:37] Tor Karlsvalt: I see that
[2024/01/07 10:37] Rosie Gray: ㋡
[2024/01/07 10:37] Rosie Gray: well, you can fix it :D
[2024/01/07 10:38] Almut Brunswick: Thank you for pointing that out. We missed that last term as well :D
[2024/01/07 10:38] Tor Karlsvalt: yest the domain name was not included
[2024/01/07 10:38] Almut Brunswick: Any other comment or question?
[2024/01/07 10:38] Rosie Gray: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=10197
[2024/01/07 10:38] Rosie Gray: for the record
[2024/01/07 10:39] Tor Karlsvalt: Right, but I notice there there was no domain name fee.
[2024/01/07 10:39] Rosie Gray: I think they were rolled in together
[2024/01/07 10:40] Tor Karlsvalt: hmmm, maybe. Last term when I asked it was presented as I showed it
[2024/01/07 10:40] Tor Karlsvalt: np tho
[2024/01/07 10:40] Rosie Gray: I think we just missed it last term, sorry
[2024/01/07 10:40] Tor Karlsvalt: I'll find out.
[2024/01/07 10:40] Almut Brunswick: Thank you!
[2024/01/07 10:40] Almut Brunswick: I propose to continue in the agenda now.
[2024/01/07 10:41] Tor Karlsvalt: Thanks all, if there are no other questions, i have a wedding to go to. :)
[2024/01/07 10:41] Tor Karlsvalt: /me fumbles for the LM.
[2024/01/07 10:41] Almut Brunswick: Don't let the bride waiting :D
[2024/01/07 10:41] Jerry McNally: /me was wondering why Tor looked so smart
[2024/01/07 10:41] Tor Karlsvalt: hehe
[2024/01/07 10:41] Rosie Gray: :D
[2024/01/07 10:41] Almut Brunswick: Tor Bond :D
[2024/01/07 10:41] Tori Landau: ooh was wondering... lol Almut
[2024/01/07 10:42] Tor Karlsvalt: see you all later :)
[2024/01/07 10:42] Agatha Macbeth: /me hopes the bride is shaken, not stirred
[2024/01/07 10:42] Rosie Gray: bye!
[2024/01/07 10:42] Tori Landau: hehe
[2024/01/07 10:42] Lilith Ivory: bye Tor
[2024/01/07 10:42] Tori Landau: Bye Tor
[2024/01/07 10:42] Almut Brunswick: 3 Artisan Guild Report (Rosie)
[2024/01/07 10:42] Radioactive Rosca: Bye Chancellor
[2024/01/07 10:42] Rosie Gray: thank you, Ms. LRA
[2024/01/07 10:42] Almut Brunswick: This is the first time we have it in the agenda. Rosie please
[2024/01/07 10:42] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2024/01/07 10:43] Rosie Gray: The CDS Artisan Guild has now had two meetings since we have become officially an organization of the government
[2024/01/07 10:43] Rosie Gray: the first meeting was Dec. 2
[2024/01/07 10:44] Rosie Gray: we were till doing a lot of organizing during that meeting, getting the artisans to fill out the form to be officially recognized
[2024/01/07 10:44] Rosie Gray: deciding who would report to the RA (it's me, as the Guildmeisterin)
[2024/01/07 10:44] Rosie Gray: and Cathy as backup
[2024/01/07 10:45] Rosie Gray: We began work on covenant revisions for Locus Amoenus, but it is not finalized yet
[2024/01/07 10:46] Rosie Gray: those minutes can be found here: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=10501
[2024/01/07 10:46] Rosie Gray: the next meeting was Dec 16
[2024/01/07 10:46] Rosie Gray: we tabled the LA covenant update because Lilith couldn't be present for that meeting
[2024/01/07 10:47] Rosie Gray: we began working on the General Covenants review, with Moon volunteering to begin the update draft
[2024/01/07 10:47] Rosie Gray: We also looked at Moon's ideas for changes to the Colonia Nova parcel where the current Garden of Peace is
[2024/01/07 10:48] Rosie Gray: more discussion needed on that
[2024/01/07 10:48] Rosie Gray: We are still waiting for the SC to move our forum postings from NGO to under the government area, on the forums
[2024/01/07 10:48] Rosie Gray: Minutes for that meeting can be found here: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=10490
[2024/01/07 10:49] Rosie Gray: if anyone has any questions...?
[2024/01/07 10:49] Almut Brunswick: Thank you, Rosie
[2024/01/07 10:49] Almut Brunswick: Any questions from the RA or the audience?
[2024/01/07 10:50] Jerry McNally: It looks like a great start, very active
[2024/01/07 10:50] Rosie Gray: always so much to cover!
[2024/01/07 10:50] Almut Brunswick: Yes, I do agree.
[2024/01/07 10:50] Almut Brunswick: When will be the next scheduled meeting?
[2024/01/07 10:50] Jerry McNally: No specific questions really, just glad it's all on-going - how this place looks is so key to its ongoing success
[2024/01/07 10:50] Rosie Gray: ah, that is January 13th
[2024/01/07 10:51] Cathy Sabre: I agree, Jerry.
[2024/01/07 10:51] Almut Brunswick: We should mention that the Artisan Guild meetings are not secret, but open to public, too. Hence my formal asking :D
[2024/01/07 10:51] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): Right before Caralie Songbird at The Cabaret
[2024/01/07 10:51] Rosie Gray: hi Cathy... didn't see ou sneaking in ;)
[2024/01/07 10:52] Cathy Sabre: :)
[2024/01/07 10:52] Agatha Macbeth: /me smiles at Cathy
[2024/01/07 10:52] Almut Brunswick: When there aren't any other questions regarding this topic, let's move to the next topic
[2024/01/07 10:52] Almut Brunswick: 4 New Business
4.1 MoCA Curator Applications
[2024/01/07 10:53] Almut Brunswick: The RA received two applications: from Tori Landau and Indigo. But I see just Tori attending the meeting.
[2024/01/07 10:53] Almut Brunswick: Nonetheless, I assume that all RA members have carefully read the two applications and came to an opinion.
[2024/01/07 10:54] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): nods
[2024/01/07 10:54] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): May I make a cooment?
[2024/01/07 10:54] Almut Brunswick: I propose, however, before we will officially vote, that we should take the chance to ask questions, if there are any left.
[2024/01/07 10:55] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): /me would like to comment
[2024/01/07 10:55] Almut Brunswick: Sure, Kyoko
[2024/01/07 10:55] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): thanks Madame LRA
[2024/01/07 10:55] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): Alas, Indigo is seldom present in CDS
[2024/01/07 10:56] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): I see that as a drawback to knowing the artistic preference of CDS Citizens
[2024/01/07 10:56] Almut Brunswick: That was/is my concern as well, Kyoko
[2024/01/07 10:57] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): Roir Landau, of the other hand is and active CDS Citzen. Performing at events and sharing her knowledge of music
[2024/01/07 10:57] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): *takes a deep breath* Thus I surpport Tori as the single Curator. And I have offered to help her learn the ropes
[2024/01/07 10:58] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): finiished
[2024/01/07 10:58] Almut Brunswick: Thank you, Kyoko
[2024/01/07 10:58] Jerry McNally: I'd just like to add that, when comparing the text of the applications, I consider Tori's to be the strongest
[2024/01/07 10:59] Rosie Gray: I agree, with the most thought-out presentation :)
[2024/01/07 10:59] Rosie Gray: but, I would like to thank Indigo for her application
[2024/01/07 11:00] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): I do NOT agree
[2024/01/07 11:00] Rosie Gray: /me raises an eyebrow
[2024/01/07 11:00] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): Oh I see you DO agree
[2024/01/07 11:00] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): My Bad
[2024/01/07 11:01] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): I agree that Tori would make a wonderful single curartor
[2024/01/07 11:01] Almut Brunswick: Well, standing up for submitting an application is in any case something we should be thankful for. It does not automatically mean we follow the argumentation therein.
[2024/01/07 11:02] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2024/01/07 11:02] Almut Brunswick: So I think that I speak for all of us when I propose to vote for Tori Landau as the new MoCA Curator for the 40th term.
[2024/01/07 11:02] Rosie Gray: /me smiles broadly
[2024/01/07 11:02] Jerry McNally: I'll second that
[2024/01/07 11:02] Almut Brunswick: Let's vote then
[2024/01/07 11:03] Jerry McNally: Aye
[2024/01/07 11:03] Rosie Gray: aye
[2024/01/07 11:03] Almut Brunswick: Aye

[2024/01/07 11:03] Almut Brunswick: Sandy?
[2024/01/07 11:04] Rosie Gray: /me pokes Sandy
[2024/01/07 11:04] Almut Brunswick: maybe she is in a tunnel right now :D
[2024/01/07 11:04] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): *pokes Sany gently*
[2024/01/07 11:04] Rosie Gray: in any case, thank you so much, Tori, and congrats!
[2024/01/07 11:04] Almut Brunswick: (technically, Tori is elected anyway)
[2024/01/07 11:04] Jerry McNally: If Sandy's having technical difficulties, we could extend a seven day vote, to capture her opinion?
[2024/01/07 11:05] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): nods
[2024/01/07 11:05] Tori Landau: Thank you, I am honoured to serve as the MoCA Curator for the 40th term °͜°
[2024/01/07 11:05] Almut Brunswick: Yes, in worst case we can do that.
[2024/01/07 11:05] Almut Brunswick: Tori, would you like to say some words now?
[2024/01/07 11:07] Almut Brunswick: (Is Tori also traveling by train right now?)
[2024/01/07 11:07] Almut Brunswick: (Ah she is typing...)
[2024/01/07 11:08] Tori Landau: Just that I hope to engage with the community as much as possible regarding future exhibitions and to do my best for the museum and CDS

[2024/01/07 11:08] Tori Landau: apologies I had to switch on my typing AO which then plonked me in the middle of the bench

[2024/01/07 11:09] Rosie Gray: and don't forget too that Delia was a long-time curator of the MoCA, so is another resource if you need it
[2024/01/07 11:09] Almut Brunswick: Thank you, Tori, we all are looking forward to stunning exhibitions and events. And don't hesitate to ask when you need some assistance (not only) from Kyoko!

[2024/01/07 11:11] Almut Brunswick: Ah a special year, when I remember right.
[2024/01/07 11:11] Kyoko Jarvinen-Barzane (samara.barzane): so prepare to see BIIIIIG dragons at with end of the skating party area
[2024/01/07 11:11] Cathy Sabre: Neat, Kyoko.
[2024/01/07 11:11] Agatha Macbeth: Sounds good

[2024/01/07 11:12] Almut Brunswick: Anyway...let's continue then: 5 Citizen Concerns
[2024/01/07 11:12] Rosie Gray: hmmm
[2024/01/07 11:12] Lilith Ivory: I have an ole dragon Avie but idk if I get him on skates
[2024/01/07 11:12] Sandy Burgess: We might need a few more sims if all get out their fully grown elder dragons
[2024/01/07 11:12] Almut Brunswick: (for the records: That Dragon Skating could be put under 7)
[2024/01/07 11:13] Tori Landau: hehe yes that's what mine is
[2024/01/07 11:13] Almut Brunswick: So, dear citizens, do you have any comments, complaints, concerns, proposals?
[2024/01/07 11:14] Almut Brunswick: Sandy is back! We missed your vote about the MoCA Curator
[2024/01/07 11:14] Rosie Gray: ㋡
[2024/01/07 11:14] Lilith Ivory: I only have the comment that I am grateful to have this meeting at a sunday as saturday at this time is not a good time for me
[2024/01/07 11:14] Lilith Ivory: I have to attend lots of RL stuff on Sats
[2024/01/07 11:15] Almut Brunswick: Lilith, then we are two. However, it was the only chance to gather now.
[2024/01/07 11:15] Lilith Ivory: before the stores close :)
[2024/01/07 11:15] Rosie Gray: ㋡
[2024/01/07 11:15] Lilith Ivory: I just wanted to mention that as there were comments about missing SC members in the past :)
[2024/01/07 11:15] Almut Brunswick: Yes
[2024/01/07 11:16] Lilith Ivory: (done)
[2024/01/07 11:16] Almut Brunswick: Well, we can consider that, however, we have also sometimes collisions with other (not only) CDS dates
[2024/01/07 11:17] Almut Brunswick: For example, I prefer Saturdays by default because of a scripting class. So we need to make compromises.
[2024/01/07 11:17] Lilith Ivory: of course RA members come first when it comes to scheduling a meeting
[2024/01/07 11:18] Rosie Gray: and I prefer Sundays because of so many other things always on Saturday :P
[2024/01/07 11:18] Rosie Gray: oh well
[2024/01/07 11:18] Almut Brunswick: Thank you for your understanding.
[2024/01/07 11:19] Almut Brunswick: Any other points?
[2024/01/07 11:19] Sandy Burgess: My vote for the curator is aye
[2024/01/07 11:19] Lilith Ivory: Saturdays on a later time would work better for me but I do understand it ruins Rosies day :)
[2024/01/07 11:19] Sandy Burgess: Sorry - did not get all through
[2024/01/07 11:19] Jerry McNally: Thanks Sandy
[2024/01/07 11:19] Almut Brunswick: Jerry, please add that to the vote for topic 4.1
[2024/01/07 11:19] Rosie Gray: thanks for even being here, Sandy, given your tenuous connection today!
[2024/01/07 11:19] Jerry McNally: Will do Almut
[2024/01/07 11:20] Almut Brunswick: Thank you :D
[2024/01/07 11:20] Almut Brunswick: 6 RA Member Concerns

[2024/01/07 11:28] Agatha Macbeth: Aww
[2024/01/07 11:29] Almut Brunswick: Thank you for being here, have a good weekend and start into the new week (my first working week after three weeks of holidays....sighs).
