[2020/10/04 11:59] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Hi Sudane
[2020/10/04 11:59] Almut Brunswick: Hello Mizou and Rosie
[2020/10/04 11:59] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): I can’t see Sudane or Almut
[2020/10/04 11:59] Rosie Gray: hi Almut and Sudane
[2020/10/04 11:59] Rosie Gray: think they are downstairs
[2020/10/04 11:59] Rosie Gray: oop!
[2020/10/04 12:00] Almut Brunswick: We come up as soon as everything has rezzed
[2020/10/04 12:00] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Hi Sudane
[2020/10/04 12:00] Sudane Erato: hey :)
[2020/10/04 12:00] Rosie Gray: ㋡
[2020/10/04 12:00] Rosie Gray: seems that both of your eyesight has declined lately
[2020/10/04 12:01] Rosie Gray: ㋡
[2020/10/04 12:01] Rosie Gray: or perhaps the contact lenses weren't working out
[2020/10/04 12:02] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Mizou has adopted the intellectual look for a change
[2020/10/04 12:02] Rosie Gray: :D
[2020/10/04 12:02] Sudane Erato: hehe
[2020/10/04 12:02] Rosie Gray: very nice
[2020/10/04 12:02] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): /me is admiring Rosie's new hair
[2020/10/04 12:02] Rosie Gray: like both of your glasses
[2020/10/04 12:02] Rosie Gray: oh thank you
[2020/10/04 12:03] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): thanks :)
[2020/10/04 12:03] Sudane Erato: i thought I'd make more of an effort to look my age :)
[2020/10/04 12:03] Almut Brunswick: I still don't see the whole building, but at least you and this table
[2020/10/04 12:04] Almut Brunswick: so the essential parts are visible now
[2020/10/04 12:04] Rosie Gray: oh really, Almut?
[2020/10/04 12:04] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): ah, Sudane i prefer the opposite in SL :)
[2020/10/04 12:04] Sudane Erato: building is here... fear not :)
[2020/10/04 12:04] Almut Brunswick: Oh really, Rosie :D
[2020/10/04 12:04] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Hi Almut
[2020/10/04 12:04] Sudane Erato: hehe... Mizou... I know most people feel that way
[2020/10/04 12:04] Almut Brunswick: Hello Mizou.
[2020/10/04 12:04] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): :)
[2020/10/04 12:05] Almut Brunswick: Lyubov and Delia have excused themselves due to RL obligations
[2020/10/04 12:05] Rosie Gray: I try to look closer to my age as well, but I admit that I err on the side of younger
[2020/10/04 12:05] Sudane Erato: but I got grief once from a friend... a rl friend...
[2020/10/04 12:05] Rosie Gray: oh did you?
[2020/10/04 12:05] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): really?
[2020/10/04 12:05] Rosie Gray: for looking too young in SL?
[2020/10/04 12:05] Sudane Erato: so I figured I'd see if I could manage an older look :)
[2020/10/04 12:05] Sudane Erato: yes :)
[2020/10/04 12:06] Sudane Erato: "why do you want to look like a teenager???" she said :)
[2020/10/04 12:06] Rosie Gray: it's difficult to do in SL without becoming a caricature
[2020/10/04 12:06] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): is it really their business?
[2020/10/04 12:06] Almut Brunswick: In RL, I have almost white hair as well. So my SL avatar is how my hair once looked like
[2020/10/04 12:06] Sudane Erato: lol... well...
[2020/10/04 12:06] Rosie Gray: I understand it, Sudane
[2020/10/04 12:06] Rosie Gray: in our culture we worship youth, and especially women as we get older become invisible
[2020/10/04 12:07] Almut Brunswick: I don't know where EM is today
[2020/10/04 12:07] Rosie Gray: so why perpetuate that stereotype
[2020/10/04 12:07] Almut Brunswick: I hoped for a larger circle for discussing Sudane's plans
[2020/10/04 12:07] Sudane Erato: that's surely part of it for me... I really hate female roles/stereotypes
[2020/10/04 12:07] Rosie Gray: yes, that's too bad Almut
[2020/10/04 12:07] Rosie Gray: /me nods at Sudane
[2020/10/04 12:08] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): /me nods
[2020/10/04 12:08] Rosie Gray: and who else is supposed to be here?
[2020/10/04 12:08] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Is it just the 4 of us?
[2020/10/04 12:08] Rosie Gray: Brooke?
[2020/10/04 12:08] Almut Brunswick: No idea where Broke is today, too
[2020/10/04 12:08] Sudane Erato: Lyu said she couldn’t be here
[2020/10/04 12:08] Rosie Gray: yes
[2020/10/04 12:08] Rosie Gray: weekends aren't good for her in SL
[2020/10/04 12:09] Almut Brunswick: Yes, she sent me an email with the questions and statements I sent you as appendix to the agenda
[2020/10/04 12:09] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): that’s right Sudane, she asked me to have the transcript on the forum tomorrow
[2020/10/04 12:09] Almut Brunswick: Ok, I suggest to start now nonetheless
[2020/10/04 12:09] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): :)
[2020/10/04 12:09] Rosie Gray: how about an announcement?
[2020/10/04 12:09] Rosie Gray: maybe other people will come
[2020/10/04 12:09] Almut Brunswick: Do we all have the agenda
[2020/10/04 12:09] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): yes
[2020/10/04 12:10] Sudane Erato: is it in the forum?
[2020/10/04 12:10] Rosie Gray: yes I have it
[2020/10/04 12:10] Sudane Erato: otherwise, no, I don't have it
[2020/10/04 12:10] Almut Brunswick: Ermm, it is 10 min past 12 PM now. I doubt that we will attract any further citizen to show up
[2020/10/04 12:10] Rosie Gray: still, it's always a good idea to make an announcement
[2020/10/04 12:11] Almut Brunswick: Sudane, it was attached to the group notice.
[2020/10/04 12:11] Sudane Erato: oh... I always have trouble opening those :(
[2020/10/04 12:11] Sudane Erato: sorry :(
[2020/10/04 12:11] Sudane Erato: ty!
[2020/10/04 12:13] Almut Brunswick: Ok announcement sent. The crowds will flood our location now
[2020/10/04 12:13] Sudane Erato: hehe
[2020/10/04 12:13] Almut Brunswick: Let's finally start. 1. Call to order. It is 12:13 PM SLT.
[2020/10/04 12:13] Sudane Erato: properly socially distanced I hope
[2020/10/04 12:13] Almut Brunswick: I had garlic anyway
[2020/10/04 12:13] Rosie Gray: lol
[2020/10/04 12:13] Sudane Erato: :)
[2020/10/04 12:14] Almut Brunswick: 2. Discussion and approval of today's agenda
[2020/10/04 12:14] Rosie Gray: I consider you all to be in my SL circle!
[2020/10/04 12:14] Almut Brunswick: Aww thank you
[2020/10/04 12:14] Sudane Erato: I move we approve the agenda... if we can
[2020/10/04 12:14] Rosie Gray: I believe you need 4 LUC members to be a quorum
[2020/10/04 12:14] Rosie Gray: if I'm not mistaken :(
[2020/10/04 12:15] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): ohh what now?
[2020/10/04 12:15] Brooke Brandenburg: is online.
[2020/10/04 12:15] Sudane Erato: so we just have a discussion based on the agenda
[2020/10/04 12:15] Rosie Gray: oh... here is Brooke
[2020/10/04 12:15] Almut Brunswick: We will discuss things, but not vote. It is an informal meeting then
[2020/10/04 12:15] Rosie Gray: coming online
[2020/10/04 12:15] Sudane Erato: yes!
[2020/10/04 12:15] Almut Brunswick: aah
[2020/10/04 12:15] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Brooke online
[2020/10/04 12:15] Sudane Erato: :)
[2020/10/04 12:15] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): /me noted
[2020/10/04 12:16] Rosie Gray: hi Brooke!
[2020/10/04 12:16] Brooke Brandenburg: Hello all...my apologies for being so late :(
[2020/10/04 12:16] Almut Brunswick: so we can fully act now
[2020/10/04 12:16] Sudane Erato: Well, Brooke makes it 4
[2020/10/04 12:16] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): /me is invisible for me
[2020/10/04 12:16] Sudane Erato: yes
[2020/10/04 12:16] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Oh hi Brooke
[2020/10/04 12:16] Brooke Brandenburg: Hi Mizou :)
[2020/10/04 12:16] Sudane Erato: hey Brooke :)
[2020/10/04 12:17] Rosie Gray: she is slowly coming into focus for me
[2020/10/04 12:17] Almut Brunswick: Just sit down and let's proceed. All good.
[2020/10/04 12:17] Brooke Brandenburg: Hey Sudane!
[2020/10/04 12:17] Almut Brunswick: Brooke, do oyu have the agenda
[2020/10/04 12:17] Brooke Brandenburg: I do..just digging it out
[2020/10/04 12:17] Almut Brunswick: Great
[2020/10/04 12:17] Brooke Brandenburg: ready :)
[2020/10/04 12:18] Almut Brunswick: Nobody against the agenda in this form?
[2020/10/04 12:18] Brooke Brandenburg: not me
[2020/10/04 12:18] Sudane Erato: I moved we adopt it
[2020/10/04 12:18] Almut Brunswick: Aye
[2020/10/04 12:18] Brooke Brandenburg: aye
[2020/10/04 12:18] Sudane Erato: aye
[2020/10/04 12:18] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): aye
[2020/10/04 12:19] Almut Brunswick: Thank you.
[2020/10/04 12:19] Almut Brunswick: 3. Discussion and approval of the recent meeting minutes (September 13, 2020)
[2020/10/04 12:19] Almut Brunswick: I assume you all have read them
[2020/10/04 12:19] Sudane Erato: I move we approve them
[2020/10/04 12:19] Brooke Brandenburg: I second
[2020/10/04 12:19] Sudane Erato: they're in the forums
[2020/10/04 12:19] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): aye
[2020/10/04 12:19] Almut Brunswick: aye
[2020/10/04 12:19] Brooke Brandenburg: aye
[2020/10/04 12:19] Sudane Erato: aye
[2020/10/04 12:19] Almut Brunswick: Yes, Sudane, the link is in the agenda
[2020/10/04 12:20] Almut Brunswick: Thank you, especially to Mizou for her faithful taking the notes and making something reasonable of our chitchat:D
[2020/10/04 12:20] Sudane Erato: yes!!
[2020/10/04 12:20] Brooke Brandenburg: she does an excellent job!
[2020/10/04 12:20] Sudane Erato: i agree :)
[2020/10/04 12:21] Rosie Gray: ㋡
[2020/10/04 12:21] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): thanks, it’s my pleasure :)
[2020/10/04 12:21] Almut Brunswick: She gives my chaotic acting a reasonable structure afterwards :D
[2020/10/04 12:21] Sudane Erato: hehe
[2020/10/04 12:21] Brooke Brandenburg: :)
[2020/10/04 12:21] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): lol
[2020/10/04 12:21] Almut Brunswick: 4. Old Business:
[2020/10/04 12:21] Almut Brunswick: A. Missing roadway to a parcel close to the lake at Monastery:
Approved by the RA on September 22, 2020, Brief status update (Almut)
[2020/10/04 12:22] Almut Brunswick: The status is that I set up the first part of the old sluice today
[2020/10/04 12:22] Almut Brunswick: No worries, it is not yet texturized in the final way
[2020/10/04 12:22] Almut Brunswick: and I started with this roundel structure which will link the two pathways together
[2020/10/04 12:23] Almut Brunswick: But it is already made in mesh
[2020/10/04 12:23] Sudane Erato: sounds great :)
[2020/10/04 12:23] Almut Brunswick: In the following days, I will create the pathways, think about some further details and a proper fitting into the landscape
[2020/10/04 12:24] Almut Brunswick: Then I will render the textures (yes, all orderly required ones!)
[2020/10/04 12:24] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): /me nods
[2020/10/04 12:25] Almut Brunswick: The pathways will have separately texturizable surfaces, so that seasonal changes will be easily possible
[2020/10/04 12:26] Almut Brunswick: At some point, I will need some assistance to remover or to relocate some landscape elements and plants. But this will be the last stage of the construction work.
[2020/10/04 12:26] Almut Brunswick: The roundel structure has a LI of 2 so far
[2020/10/04 12:26] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Looking forward to see your sluice creation Almut
[2020/10/04 12:27] Brooke Brandenburg: so am I
[2020/10/04 12:27] Almut Brunswick: so there will be hopefully enough reserve for the yet missing parts
[2020/10/04 12:27] Almut Brunswick: That was my brief status report. Done.
[2020/10/04 12:27] Sudane Erato: Sounds good...
[2020/10/04 12:27] Sudane Erato: looking forward to it
[2020/10/04 12:27] Rosie Gray: Almut
[2020/10/04 12:28] Almut Brunswick: Yes?
[2020/10/04 12:28] Rosie Gray: I would like to see it before you replace what is there with it, please
[2020/10/04 12:28] Almut Brunswick: Rosie, I myself won't touch any existing element there
[2020/10/04 12:28] Rosie Gray: since it will mean removing some nice riverside stuff
[2020/10/04 12:28] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2020/10/04 12:29] Rosie Gray: do you have a workshop in the sky where you can rez it?
[2020/10/04 12:29] Almut Brunswick: When I will have finished my parts, you or our gardener should move some plants or remove then hidden parts like some stones
[2020/10/04 12:29] Rosie Gray: that's often our procedure
[2020/10/04 12:29] Almut Brunswick: No, I use Blender and for inworld trials the Beta Grid Aditi
[2020/10/04 12:29] Rosie Gray: it's best not to put unfinished things down
[2020/10/04 12:30] Almut Brunswick: the final adjustments are only possible on site
[2020/10/04 12:30] Rosie Gray: yes, final adjustments, but before it's ready we don't want to have roughed in components on the ground
[2020/10/04 12:30] Sudane Erato: I like to get at least the outside texture complete before I rez stuff on site
[2020/10/04 12:30] Almut Brunswick: Well, I will leave the first sluice there on site, because it is the anchor point for all further measurements
[2020/10/04 12:31] Rosie Gray: yes, same Sudane
[2020/10/04 12:31] Sudane Erato: so it looks nice, even though incomplete
[2020/10/04 12:31] Almut Brunswick: It has a temporary texture and it is hidden under trees and bushes, so I doubt that it would molest anybody’s eye in the next few days
[2020/10/04 12:31] Rosie Gray: we don't want people wandering around seeing obviously roughed in things
[2020/10/04 12:32] Rosie Gray: still, this is our tradition
[2020/10/04 12:32] Almut Brunswick: Rosie, I have been working there for hours today. Nobody was around the whole day.
[2020/10/04 12:32] Rosie Gray: Almut, it's how we do things
[2020/10/04 12:32] Rosie Gray: not to mean you can't work on it there, while you are working
[2020/10/04 12:33] Rosie Gray: but just to not leave it there
[2020/10/04 12:33] Almut Brunswick: Then I will need to record exactly the position before taking away the structure
[2020/10/04 12:33] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Just a question Almut
[2020/10/04 12:33] Rosie Gray: that's pretty easy to do ㋡
[2020/10/04 12:33] Sudane Erato: Another idea is to leave a small object there... at the exact same coordinates
[2020/10/04 12:34] Sudane Erato: yes
[2020/10/04 12:34] Sudane Erato: and then use that object to copy position
[2020/10/04 12:34] Sudane Erato: and then paste your creation to that position
[2020/10/04 12:34] Almut Brunswick: I will just record the coordinates. That should work
[2020/10/04 12:34] Sudane Erato: yes... that will work too of course
[2020/10/04 12:34] Rosie Gray: yes if you put them in the 'description' of the object
[2020/10/04 12:34] Rosie Gray: makes it easy
[2020/10/04 12:35] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Almut
[2020/10/04 12:35] Almut Brunswick: Yes Mizou?
[2020/10/04 12:35] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Is the present round thing the final size?
[2020/10/04 12:36] Almut Brunswick: Well, it is a progressed draft at least
[2020/10/04 12:36] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): I see
[2020/10/04 12:37] Almut Brunswick: I had a slightly larger one, but it turned out as too bulky in this location
[2020/10/04 12:37] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): yes, proportion to the rest of the landscape is paramount
[2020/10/04 12:37] Almut Brunswick: so I scaled it down and fixed the joint to the rocks
[2020/10/04 12:37] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2020/10/04 12:38] Almut Brunswick: furthermore, I decided not to join the pathway to the parcel along the pond directly to the roundel, but to crate it separately
[2020/10/04 12:38] Almut Brunswick: this way, I will be more flexible
[2020/10/04 12:38] Rosie Gray: that sounds like a good idea
[2020/10/04 12:39] Almut Brunswick: I reduced the LI from initially 22 over 7 and 5 to 2 now
[2020/10/04 12:39] Sudane Erato: that’s great! :)
[2020/10/04 12:39] Sudane Erato: hehe
[2020/10/04 12:39] Sudane Erato: quite a reduction :)
[2020/10/04 12:40] Rosie Gray: that is! well done
[2020/10/04 12:40] Almut Brunswick: When there will be one or two LI possible in the very end, I would then add some details again. But that is just optional. Top priority has the actual pathways now
[2020/10/04 12:41] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Thanks Almut
[2020/10/04 12:41] Almut Brunswick: So after the RA approval, things are proceeding here.
[2020/10/04 12:42] Almut Brunswick: Let's move to B. then
[2020/10/04 12:42] Almut Brunswick: Proposed changes on the LUC Law and Civil Service Act Law: Opened related Forum discussion for a proposed Transparent Region Development Act.
[2020/10/04 12:42] Almut Brunswick: There is not much discussion going on these days, as it seems.
[2020/10/04 12:43] Almut Brunswick: Lyubov wanted to write something, but apparently she is very busy in RL
[2020/10/04 12:43] Brooke Brandenburg: I thought Rosie clarified it nicely in her posts.
[2020/10/04 12:44] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Apart from that, I would say that people has said what they wanted to say on the forum
[2020/10/04 12:44] Rosie Gray: thanks Brooke
[2020/10/04 12:44] Sudane Erato: between Tan and Lil and Rosie, there does seem to be an evolving concept there
[2020/10/04 12:44] Brooke Brandenburg: yes
[2020/10/04 12:44] Almut Brunswick: yes, but I was not quite happy about the reduced role of the LUC
[2020/10/04 12:44] Rosie Gray: I didn't write it up as proposed Legal language though
[2020/10/04 12:45] Almut Brunswick: so I emphasized that our expertise can also be challenged when we are not only talking about the really big things.
[2020/10/04 12:45] Rosie Gray: it's not a reduced role for the LUC, Almut
[2020/10/04 12:45] Rosie Gray: the LUC is an advisory body, and it can advise on anything it chooses to
[2020/10/04 12:46] Almut Brunswick: And this is exactly what I emphasized in my reply.
[2020/10/04 12:46] Rosie Gray: I think that the whole guidelines are really meant more to clarify the role of the Chancellor and to be clearer about the process
[2020/10/04 12:47] Almut Brunswick: So let's see how the discussion will evolve further
[2020/10/04 12:47] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): /me nods
[2020/10/04 12:47] Rosie Gray: well it is the RA's decision how to proceed with it anyway
[2020/10/04 12:48] Almut Brunswick: We will monitor it and I will write my opinion as CDS citizen and also as LUC Chirwoman whenever I feel the need for it. And yes, the eventually deciding body is the RA.
[2020/10/04 12:49] Almut Brunswick: Now I propose to come to the main topic of today's meeting:
[2020/10/04 12:49] Almut Brunswick: 5. New Business: A: LA Coast Line Renewal project for the southwest corner (Sudane)
[2020/10/04 12:50] Sudane Erato: ahhh... yes
[2020/10/04 12:50] Sudane Erato: does anyone have any questions of me about it?
[2020/10/04 12:50] Almut Brunswick: I added a couple of references to this topic and Sudane was already very industrious to depict her ideas in an elaborate concept paper.
[2020/10/04 12:50] Sudane Erato: I read Lyu's questions
[2020/10/04 12:50] Sudane Erato: and they are all good questions
[2020/10/04 12:51] Sudane Erato: to which I have no answers
[2020/10/04 12:51] Almut Brunswick: smiles. I think many of her questions need to be pondered first
[2020/10/04 12:51] Sudane Erato: that would be good
[2020/10/04 12:51] Sudane Erato: that would be good
[2020/10/04 12:52] Almut Brunswick: We are just a small - actually a to small - circle for a detailed discussion
[2020/10/04 12:52] Almut Brunswick: too*
[2020/10/04 12:52] Rosie Gray: I have a question, Sudane
[2020/10/04 12:52] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): /me agrees
[2020/10/04 12:52] Sudane Erato: sure
[2020/10/04 12:52] Almut Brunswick: and it would make more sense when we have Lyubov here, too
[2020/10/04 12:52] Rosie Gray: do you have any particular imagery in mind for the buildings?
[2020/10/04 12:53] Sudane Erato: no, I didn't, only to be consistent with the other side of the harbor... but more dense
[2020/10/04 12:53] Rosie Gray: perhaps referring back to the initial imagery we gathered, for the other side?
[2020/10/04 12:53] Sudane Erato: the classic Mediterranean village we often reference
[2020/10/04 12:53] Sudane Erato: yes
[2020/10/04 12:53] Rosie Gray: which I don't think we really reflected well, to be honest
[2020/10/04 12:53] Sudane Erato: exactly
[2020/10/04 12:54] Sudane Erato: well..
[2020/10/04 12:54] Sudane Erato: LAwas originally a classic inspiration
[2020/10/04 12:54] Sudane Erato: which got shifted forward a 1000 years
[2020/10/04 12:54] Sudane Erato: so some of the builds didn’t' get shifted
[2020/10/04 12:55] Rosie Gray: i do love the idea of making the waterline more organic
[2020/10/04 12:55] Rosie Gray: I've never liked that strict rectangular shape
[2020/10/04 12:56] Sudane Erato: yes... its remote from the water now
[2020/10/04 12:56] Sudane Erato: and people like water
[2020/10/04 12:56] Rosie Gray: yes
[2020/10/04 12:56] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): and boats
[2020/10/04 12:56] Sudane Erato: and people do like NFS... with its very curvy street shapes
[2020/10/04 12:56] Almut Brunswick: I personally would like to see a bit more variety in the interpretation of the Mediterranean style. I mean, we want to attract more visitors and hopefully also new potential citizens. But must it really be that always repeated style for all buildings?
[2020/10/04 12:57] Sudane Erato: Almut, I agree
[2020/10/04 12:57] Rosie Gray: that's one of the things I was thinking of too
[2020/10/04 12:57] Almut Brunswick: I'm not talking about glass, steel and concrete of course:)
[2020/10/04 12:58] Sudane Erato: one of the things to guarantee a more varied style is to have multiple builders
[2020/10/04 12:58] Rosie Gray: I think it was a matter of doing a lot of work at the same time, so some buildings got duplicated
[2020/10/04 12:58] Almut Brunswick: But what about some Art Nouveau/Art Deco house fronts?
[2020/10/04 12:58] Sudane Erato: so that would be nice to do here
[2020/10/04 12:58] Almut Brunswick: Sudane's chosen location would become a widely visible landmark
[2020/10/04 12:58] Sudane Erato: I'm happy to have contributed most of Stella Marina... but its sameness results from me being the builder
[2020/10/04 12:58] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Like on the coast in Belgium and France?
[2020/10/04 12:59] Rosie Gray: that also works though, Sudane
[2020/10/04 12:59] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): I love Stella Maris
[2020/10/04 12:59] Almut Brunswick: Yes, Mizou, or in Southern France and Spain
[2020/10/04 12:59] Rosie Gray: when you look at images of old villages, there is a sameness to them
[2020/10/04 12:59] Em Warden (emwarden): is online.
[2020/10/04 12:59] Rosie Gray: each village has a style
[2020/10/04 12:59] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): no very different in southern Spain and
[2020/10/04 12:59] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): very very different
[2020/10/04 12:59] Almut Brunswick: Not in Barcelona though
[2020/10/04 12:59] Rosie Gray: I'm talking about within themselves
[2020/10/04 13:00] Sudane Erato: well... I guess I'd just like to share the job here.... not sure I can muster the energy that I had for Stella Marina
[2020/10/04 13:00] Rosie Gray: Barcelona is a huge city
[2020/10/04 13:00] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): /me agrees with each village having a style
[2020/10/04 13:00] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): i can help
[2020/10/04 13:00] Sudane Erato: :)
[2020/10/04 13:00] Rosie Gray: agreed, Sudane
[2020/10/04 13:00] Rosie Gray: and I can help too
[2020/10/04 13:00] Rosie Gray: maybe Almut would like to as well
[2020/10/04 13:00] Em Warden (emwarden): Sorry ladies :(
[2020/10/04 13:00] Rosie Gray: hi Em!
[2020/10/04 13:00] Sudane Erato: I do like that our community has a team of builders
[2020/10/04 13:01] Almut Brunswick: Em, glad you could make it
[2020/10/04 13:01] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Hi Em
[2020/10/04 13:01] Sudane Erato: hey Em :)
[2020/10/04 13:01] Rosie Gray: /me looks at the time
[2020/10/04 13:01] Rosie Gray: sorry I have to go
[2020/10/04 13:02] Em Warden (emwarden): Hi... I have problems. Everything is black, but I can read what you are saying
[2020/10/04 13:02] Rosie Gray: but looking forward to hearing more of the discussion on the transcript!
[2020/10/04 13:02] Brooke Brandenburg: see you Rosie
[2020/10/04 13:02] Rosie Gray: oh dear, Em!
[2020/10/04 13:02] Em Warden (emwarden): Bye Rosie
[2020/10/04 13:02] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Transcript will be on the forum tomorrow and probably the minutes too
[2020/10/04 13:02] Rosie Gray: bye everyone ㋡
[2020/10/04 13:02] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): See you Rosie
[2020/10/04 13:02] Sudane Erato: for the record, I will need to leave promptly at 1:20... need to take my spouse to the train
[2020/10/04 13:03] Almut Brunswick: Well, I would really like to see more variety within a given theme. Reproducing the same style again and again is not increasing the attraction of places - especially when you are aware that our sims here are a bit like a model railroad: a representation of ideas and concepts on a very limited place
[2020/10/04 13:04] Sudane Erato: That's true and i agree
[2020/10/04 13:04] Sudane Erato: I build things that I enjoy building
[2020/10/04 13:05] Almut Brunswick: You can make up an orchestra just of strings - but it adds variety when you also allow some woods, brass etc. :D
[2020/10/04 13:05] Sudane Erato: hehe
[2020/10/04 13:06] Sudane Erato: So should we send this to Lyu with the challenge to convene a process to answer her questions?
[2020/10/04 13:07] Brooke Brandenburg: sounds reasonable to me
[2020/10/04 13:07] Almut Brunswick: I think in first line we all her ein the LUC should break our heads and then discuss it in a hopefully bigger circle in a fortnight. We also can exchange emails with some sketches and thoughts like we already did
[2020/10/04 13:08] Sudane Erato: OK sure
[2020/10/04 13:08] Almut Brunswick: I don't want to see there yet another Italian fishermen's village. That is my personal opinion.
[2020/10/04 13:08] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): ok
[2020/10/04 13:09] Almut Brunswick: I would prefer something more mundane, of course in the given context.
[2020/10/04 13:09] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): I have taken some photos of houses along the Belgian coastline and will propose to build some of those
[2020/10/04 13:09] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): propose
[2020/10/04 13:09] Sudane Erato: Well, i think it has to be integrated with the other side of the harbour... they can't be two unrelated towns
[2020/10/04 13:09] Almut Brunswick: From which era, Mizou?
[2020/10/04 13:09] Sudane Erato: Mizou... that would be great!
[2020/10/04 13:10] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): they are from the late 19th century but with very particular designs for the coast
[2020/10/04 13:10] Almut Brunswick: Sudane, this is something you can link with colours and dimensions
[2020/10/04 13:10] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): and they remind me of my childhood
[2020/10/04 13:10] Sudane Erato: so long as there is linkage
[2020/10/04 13:11] Almut Brunswick: I was thinking of Bauhaus-inspired buildings in Tel Aviv or the Art Deco building district in Miami
[2020/10/04 13:11] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): http://siagrius.be/siagrius/?p=7068
[2020/10/04 13:11] Brooke Brandenburg: Miami?
[2020/10/04 13:11] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): here is one its says 'Belle Epoque'
[2020/10/04 13:11] Almut Brunswick: yes
[2020/10/04 13:11] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Bauhaus??
[2020/10/04 13:12] Brooke Brandenburg: these don't sound much like the Med to me, but what do I know :)
.[2020/10/04 13:12] Sudane Erato: That one Mizou would be neat :)
[2020/10/04 13:12] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Well we can’t really change the style RA need to approve that
[2020/10/04 13:12] Sudane Erato: no, not very Mediterranean
[2020/10/04 13:12] Em Warden (emwarden): Some of us discussed the possibility of building Art Deco several years ago. Very beautiful houses, but somehow it didn't fit the rest of the themes
[2020/10/04 13:12] Almut Brunswick: Right, well...the architects took the ideas from there to the Mediterranean and mered them with the colours and needs of this region
[2020/10/04 13:13] Almut Brunswick: Em, this will be challenging for sure
[2020/10/04 13:13] Almut Brunswick: not to create something which is "battling" against the rest of the region
[2020/10/04 13:13] Sudane Erato: I can propose some ideas in response to Lyu's last few questions
[2020/10/04 13:14] Sudane Erato: kind of logistics
[2020/10/04 13:14] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): /me agrees with Sudane
[2020/10/04 13:14] Almut Brunswick: but it is in fact a challenge which L architects have to face, too - with more or less convincing resulst, as we know
[2020/10/04 13:14] Sudane Erato: but the theme and appearance and "what makes a zone successful" I leave to the discussion
[2020/10/04 13:15] Almut Brunswick: Yes, because this is not just tied to the style of building
[2020/10/04 13:15] Almut Brunswick: that would mean: How is the business concept, how is the community life structured etc?
[2020/10/04 13:16] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Are we changing the theme of the sim?
[2020/10/04 13:16] Em Warden (emwarden): It seems to me that time has got something to do with it. Friedsee has been slow to be discovered, but suddenly it is more attractive
[2020/10/04 13:16] Almut Brunswick: This is not intended so far, Mizou, and something which would be the matter of the RA
[2020/10/04 13:17] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): so buildings need to fit within the theme, and to my opinion Bauhaus is far removed from current theme
[2020/10/04 13:17] Syl Normandy: is online.
[2020/10/04 13:17] Almut Brunswick: but region development is also mirrored in the way we - the CDS - would like to build
[2020/10/04 13:19] Almut Brunswick: Mizou, I was talking about the buildings inspired by this style in a mediterranean surrounding and it was just a quite extreme example. It is, however, also meanwhile a typical and classic style. Not that I would put it up there :D
[2020/10/04 13:19] Em Warden (emwarden): We have always had "historical" themes, from earlier times. Not one single modern building from ,say, the 21st century. Should we break that tradition?
[2020/10/04 13:19] Sudane Erato: forgive me please, but as i said I must run
[2020/10/04 13:19] Em Warden (emwarden): Take care, Sudane
[2020/10/04 13:19] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): See you sudane
[2020/10/04 13:19] Brooke Brandenburg: take care Sudane
[2020/10/04 13:19] Sudane Erato: bye all :)
[2020/10/04 13:19] Almut Brunswick: Ok, so the Road/path thing will be postponed again :D
[2020/10/04 13:20] Almut Brunswick: Em, not even from the 20th century
[2020/10/04 13:20] Brooke Brandenburg: Somehow I don't see that tradition changing easily Em. :)
[2020/10/04 13:20] Brooke Brandenburg: It would be a BIG change
[2020/10/04 13:20] Em Warden (emwarden): It was a question... maybe it is time to introduce houses from our own time?
[2020/10/04 13:20] Brooke Brandenburg: Could be done
[2020/10/04 13:21] Brooke Brandenburg: Might up our value to potential owners.
[2020/10/04 13:22] Em Warden (emwarden): Personally I like houses that I don't see daily in RL, but we are all different
[2020/10/04 13:23] Em Warden (emwarden): So maybe a more modern area...
[2020/10/04 13:23] Almut Brunswick: Well, I'm living in a country which has witnessed a lot of changes - good and bad ones. Cities with an (almost) closed Fachwerk house heritage like Neufreistadt are still existing whilst other old towns got lost due to war or 50s/60s new conceptions.
[2020/10/04 13:23] Em Warden (emwarden): Just adding to the discussion :)
[2020/10/04 13:23] Almut Brunswick: Em, I would second that
[2020/10/04 13:24] Lilith Ivory: is offline.
[2020/10/04 13:24] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): It’s hard to know what is really attractive for people
[2020/10/04 13:24] Em Warden (emwarden): Indeed it is
[2020/10/04 13:24] Almut Brunswick: Yes, and our ideas are not necessarily those of the average SL visitor
[2020/10/04 13:25] Lilith Ivory: is online.
[2020/10/04 13:25] Brooke Brandenburg: I think it pays to study other successful sims/regions and try to discover what makes them successful/
[2020/10/04 13:25] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): indeed
[2020/10/04 13:25] Brooke Brandenburg: It has no quick, easy answers
[2020/10/04 13:25] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): yes but where do we look? SL is noticeably big nowadays
[2020/10/04 13:25] Almut Brunswick: On the other hand, I don't like to live in a sort of three linked open-air museums :D
[2020/10/04 13:27] Em Warden (emwarden): Perhaps it is even not the houses themselves that are most important, but beautiful surroundings that you would want to place your own house in
[2020/10/04 13:27] Almut Brunswick: I think the way of building here and elsewhere is strongly determined by what you want to do in this buildings
[2020/10/04 13:27] Em Warden (emwarden): Brooks, ponds...
[2020/10/04 13:27] Brooke Brandenburg: Ville de Coeur is a good example I think.
[2020/10/04 13:27] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Ville de Coeur?
[2020/10/04 13:27] Brooke Brandenburg: yes
[2020/10/04 13:27] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): where is that?
[2020/10/04 13:28] Brooke Brandenburg: let me find a LM
[2020/10/04 13:28] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): :)
[2020/10/04 13:28] Em Warden (emwarden): Skye's French village?
[2020/10/04 13:28] Almut Brunswick: Mizou, Ville de Coeur is a system of French-inspired sims
[2020/10/04 13:28] Brooke Brandenburg: yes
[2020/10/04 13:28] Almut Brunswick: every sim represents a different region of France
[2020/10/04 13:28] Brooke Brandenburg: lots of low-prim gardening, but somehow it fits ok there
[2020/10/04 13:28] Brooke Brandenburg: they stay busy with events
[2020/10/04 13:28] Lilith Ivory: is offline.
[2020/10/04 13:28] Brooke Brandenburg: daily
[2020/10/04 13:28] Almut Brunswick: nods
[2020/10/04 13:28] Brooke Brandenburg: and often more than one event
[2020/10/04 13:29] Em Warden (emwarden): Sounds very stressful to me :)
[2020/10/04 13:29] Brooke Brandenburg: they do public meetings for ideas
[2020/10/04 13:29] Em Warden (emwarden): stressful
[2020/10/04 13:29] Almut Brunswick: but their community is way bigger, too
[2020/10/04 13:29] Brooke Brandenburg: well you just need a few dedicated people to do events
[2020/10/04 13:29] Brooke Brandenburg: doesn't have to involve everyone
[2020/10/04 13:29] Brooke Brandenburg: and yes they have far more citizens
[2020/10/04 13:30] Almut Brunswick: Do we have them here apart of the usual one, two, three?
[2020/10/04 13:30] Brooke Brandenburg: just a suggestion for looking at other places for ideas
[2020/10/04 13:30] Brooke Brandenburg: not that I'm aware of Almut
[2020/10/04 13:30] Almut Brunswick: Let#s do an excursion soon
[2020/10/04 13:30] Em Warden (emwarden): Question is why they have far more citizens than we do...
[2020/10/04 13:30] Em Warden (emwarden): Could we learn something
[2020/10/04 13:30] Brooke Brandenburg: it is not due to rent fees...they are on the expensive side
[2020/10/04 13:31] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): I will have a look at the architecture and landscaping
[2020/10/04 13:31] Brooke Brandenburg: yes!
[2020/10/04 13:31] Almut Brunswick: Right, but for store owners it seems to pay back
[2020/10/04 13:31] Em Warden (emwarden): Great Mizou
[2020/10/04 13:31] Brooke Brandenburg: they've been around awhile
[2020/10/04 13:31] Almut Brunswick: Yes, it is an old community as well
[2020/10/04 13:31] Em Warden (emwarden): So have we...
[2020/10/04 13:32] Brooke Brandenburg: we just need to inspire people
[2020/10/04 13:32] Brooke Brandenburg: and that my friends, is not always easy :)
[2020/10/04 13:32] Brooke Brandenburg: lol
[2020/10/04 13:32] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): :)
[2020/10/04 13:32] Em Warden (emwarden): Especially as we are inspired by very different things :)
[2020/10/04 13:32] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Ladies it is late here as it is in rest of Europe
[2020/10/04 13:33] Brooke Brandenburg: oh of course
[2020/10/04 13:33] Almut Brunswick: I was about to ask if we still have other points to discuss. If now, I would ask you about the next meeting
[2020/10/04 13:33] Brooke Brandenburg: that date is good for me
[2020/10/04 13:34] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): /me agrees with the 18th
[2020/10/04 13:34] Almut Brunswick: Mizou, the Ville de Coeur topic could be recorded under Miscellaneous
[2020/10/04 13:34] Em Warden (emwarden): Me too
[2020/10/04 13:34] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): ok boss :)
[2020/10/04 13:34] Brooke Brandenburg: hehe
[2020/10/04 13:34] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): :)
[2020/10/04 13:34] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): i will check and report
[2020/10/04 13:34] Almut Brunswick: Good, see you then or earlier. Let us think about Sudane's proposal, Lyubov's questions and some more things
[2020/10/04 13:35] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): okido
[2020/10/04 13:35] Brooke Brandenburg: sounds good
[2020/10/04 13:35] Almut Brunswick: So enough homework for today!
[2020/10/04 13:35] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): Thanks Almut
[2020/10/04 13:35] Brooke Brandenburg: good meeting Almut. thank you.
[2020/10/04 13:35] Almut Brunswick: Let's move to adjourn
[2020/10/04 13:35] Mizou (mizou.vavoom): and minutes on forum tomorrow :)
