Election Commission, planning for the second meeting

Post by Gwyneth Llewelyn »

Looking at the complexity of fitting my agenda with a time that is reasonable for most to attend, and avoiding to announce another meeting less than 24 hours in advance, it seems that I should have the following slots available:

Wednesday, 2-6 PM
Thursday, 2-6 PM
Friday, 4 PM
Saturday 10-12 AM (after the Commerce Commission meeting)
Sunday, 1-6 PM (after the meetings already scheduled)

Since there was some disagreement regarding the way this commission is doing its work, I'd like to welcome the ones venting dissenting opinions to come to it, so that eventually the procedures are changed, or, failing that, their opinions might be formally included on the document to be presented to the RA.

Let me know what timeslot would work best for you.

Gwyneth,

Thank you for posting times here and for the work you are doing on the commission. I've had the pleasure of attending commissions you've led before and find them to be very helpful, informative and most of all, respectful of the participants. I've read through the Election commission transcript and while i don't agree with all the points, (don't worry, i'll get my 2 cents in) it seems to me you are on point for the issues that need to be addressed.

i think the way you conduct the business is just fine. My post re timing was not meant as criticism, but meant to highlight the short lead time so people would notice the post and hopefully attend. I apologize if it sounded critical and negative.

Oh no no, Rose, I didn't take your comment on the timing as criticism :D but as a meaningful suggestion to make sure we get a bit more attendance and make sure that the commission actually does some work (e.g. does present a document to the RA with suggestions), preferably with time to spare before we start setting up the next elections... that's the goal, after all!

I'll wait a few more hours to see if we get more suggestions on the best time, and, failing that, I'll just pick the one that suits me best hehe — probably Saturday I guess.

Would love to be there, so I'll vote for Thursday at 2. Might be able to make Sunday at 1...

Ack! I knew this would happen :( As soon as I got a reply for a specific hour, someone called me iRL and set me up for something starting Thursday at noon :(

I'm so sorry, Cindy :(

I'll be happy to settle on Sunday, 1 PM SLT then.

I hope you can! Would it be better if it's held a bit later? Or earlier? The Guild meeting ends at half past noon and Moon's usually very tight on schedules...

Later would be better for me -- if it works for everyone else I'd love to say 5pm....
