As I mentioned to Pat and some others on March 24, there are a number of ways we might evaluate changes in how we manage parcel acquisition ('sales' never makes sense to me) The ones that occur to me are:
- acquisition by recent returning citizens
- acquisition by returning citizens from prior years
- acquisition by existing citizens who expand their holdings
- acquisition by people who are currently 'friends of CDS'
- acquisition by people who are not currently 'friends of CDS'
- acquisition by people who stay long enough to vote
- length of time that parcels are held
- prices set for these parcels when they are back on the private market.
I hope the RA will consider these factors when deciding whether or not to extend the $1L per parcel price. Also, changing parcel prices without also promoting CDS in the many ways available to us seems a waste of energy to me. I'd like to see parcel prices as part of a marketing plan (produced, agreed upon and implemented).
