2 Executive Report and Budget Proposal (Tor): viewtopic.php?t=10665
[10:09] Jerry McNally: So, that brings us to 2 Executive Report and Budget Proposal
[10:09] Jerry McNally: Tor's not here, but do you think we could move to accept the budget in his absence?
[10:10] Jerry McNally: Or should we table that?
[10:10] Rosie Gray: let's take a look at it
[10:10] Almut Brunswick: Nods
[10:10] Tor Karlsvalt is online.
[10:10] Almut Brunswick: Tor is on
[10:10] Agatha Macbeth: Yay
[10:10] Tanoujin Milestone:
[10:11] Jerry McNally: Just waiting for Anj
[10:11] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): with others not here Y propose to table it in case the absent RA have questiobs
[10:11] Rosie Gray: yes so he is
[10:11] Rosie Gray: let's give him a chance to get here
[10:11] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): ...or us for that mamayyer
[10:11] Agatha Macbeth: Let's tell him off for being late :p
[10:11] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): matter
[10:12] Jerry McNally: Ok, let's wait for him, in case he joins us shortly
[10:12] Rosie Gray: yes, we can all point to our watches and hurrumph
[10:12] Agatha Macbeth: Here he comes
[10:12] Jerry McNally: Oh, speak of the devil
[10:12] Agatha Macbeth: Hello Mr Chancellor
[10:12] Jerry McNally: Hi Tor, we're all just talking about you
[10:12] Tor Karlsvalt: Morning all, sorry I am late
[10:12] Almut Brunswick blows the boatsman's whistle
[10:12] Rosie Gray: hi Tor
[10:13] Jerry McNally: Hi Tor, we've just got to your Exec Report and Budget Proposal, if you'd like to say something on that
[10:13] Jerry McNally: I note that the proposal hasn't had any more comment onlin since last time viewtopic.php?t=10665
[10:13] Tor Karlsvalt: Greetings everyone.
[10:14] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): evening Paymaster :p
[10:15] Tor Karlsvalt: Not really much to say. Just that this summer slip is a bit worrisome. This morning we have 85 citizens. Several probably are just late with tier. But we will have to work on bumping up our numbers.
[10:15] Tor Karlsvalt: That's about really.
[10:15] Agatha Macbeth: Shedding a few tiers then?
[10:15] Jerry McNally: Thanks. Any comments or questions for Tor?
[10:15] Tor Karlsvalt: lol, yes Agatha.
[10:16] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): fair we may collecy one or two from SLB
[10:16] Jerry McNally: Let's hope we can convert a few visitors
[10:16] Tor Karlsvalt: Yes, Anj, we often do.
[10:16] Rosie Gray raises a hand
[10:16] Jerry McNally: Rosie please
[10:16] Rosie Gray: thank you
[10:16] Rosie Gray: a question about the Projected Revenue, Tor
[10:17] Rosie Gray: on the spreadsheet it is noted that it's based on the current income
[10:17] Rosie Gray: can you tell us which current income that was? I mean was it an average of several months, or?
[10:18] Tor Karlsvalt: Well at the time, based on the last financials for the last term, I believe.
[10:18] Rosie Gray: so our citizen numbers would have been about the same as now, or did we have a big bump up?
[10:19] Jerry McNally: getting closer to 90 earlier did seem a little unusual I think
[10:20] Rosie Gray: yes I think so too
[10:20] Jerry McNally: 85 still sounds healthy
[10:20] Rosie Gray: I'm just a bit concerned by going over budget by $379/US for 6 months
[10:20] Agatha Macbeth agrees with Jerry
[10:21] Rosie Gray: yes I agree that 85 is healthy and given recent years actually pretty good
[10:21] Tor Karlsvalt: yes, well, I am hoping that we can increase land sales going into the fall/winter.
[10:21] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): so how are we over?
[10:21] Tor Karlsvalt: But I don't like to sugarcoat it.
[10:22] Jerry McNally compares the -$379 with last term's -$124
[10:22] Tor Karlsvalt: Well we still have a more than healthy reserve.
[10:22] Rosie Gray: the budget shows a projected deficit of L$94, 240 Anj
[10:22] Tor Karlsvalt: We have been over 100% tier most of the last two terms.
[10:23] Tor Karlsvalt: Now we are hitting a bit of a wall.
[10:23] Agatha Macbeth gets out the sledgehammer
[10:23] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): I understand rhat rosie 0 I was asking why the dufference - Jerry put it better Please bear with me - my (lack of) eyesight makes typing difficult
[10:23] Tor Karlsvalt: There was an increase too in the Domain name.
[10:24] Agatha Macbeth hugs Anj
[10:24] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): done, btw
[10:24] Jerry McNally: I think the budget proposal looks in line with others, and I've full confidence that Tor and his team are "all over the detail", as is the Expression
[10:25] Tor Karlsvalt: Bit of an anticipated increase in events. BTW, last term had a lot of private events.
[10:25] Rosie Gray: I know there is very little give in these budgets, btw
[10:26] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): I propose we accept the proposed Budget
[10:26] Tor Karlsvalt: One bright spot oddly is the swing event. Poorly attended, but it costs nothing considering that the tip jar more than covers the cost of the event.
[10:26] Jerry McNally: Thank you Anj
[10:26] Rosie Gray: that's good, Tor
[10:26] Almut Brunswick: I second Anj's motion.
[10:27] Jerry McNally: Thanks, if there's nothing further to add or question, let's vote
[10:27] Almut Brunswick: Aye
[10:27] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): Aye
[10:27] Rosie Gray: aye
[10:27] Jerry McNally: Aye
[10:28] Jerry McNally: Thanks all. All yours, Tor!
[10:29] Tor Karlsvalt: thanks everyone.
3 Artisan Guild Report (Rosie)
[10:28] Jerry McNally: Right, next on the agenda is 3 Artisan Guild Report
[10:28] Jerry McNally: Rosie, any updates?
[10:28] Rosie Gray: yes, thanks Jerry
[10:28] Rosie Gray: we had a Guild meeting on the 21st
[10:29] Rosie Gray: continuing with the Historical Signs, keeping in mind not to flood areas with too many!
[10:30] Rosie Gray: and we have started a spreadsheet to categorize and track upgrading of the regions with PBR and replacing old stuff
[10:30] Rosie Gray: we had a discussion about PBR terrain textures but realize that we need to wait until the old viewers are deprecated before updating
[10:30] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): mice? NICE!
[10:31] Agatha Macbeth: Mice are cute
[10:31] Rosie Gray: don't want to have people only see white terrain because they don't have updated viewers
[10:31] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): no legacy texture provision for Terrain?
[10:32] Rosie Gray: that's correct, Anj
[10:32] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): sighs @ LL
[10:32] Tor Karlsvalt nods
[10:32] Rosie Gray: and more discussion about upgrading of buildings etc.
[10:33] Rosie Gray: if you would like to read the transcript it is on the Forums, and I will have to write the Minutes still so sorry if I've missed some Details
[10:33] Rosie Gray: Moon presented a talk about PBR textures
[10:33] Rosie Gray: and she is repeating it tomorrow, so for anyone interested please come
[10:33] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): busy Lady, Rosie
[10:33] Rosie Gray: at 11:00 am slt
[10:34] Tor Karlsvalt: Talk was good.
[10:34] Almut Brunswick: Yes, I highly recommend it
[10:34] Rosie Gray: and our next Guild meeting will be August 3
[10:34] Jerry McNally: Thanks Rosie
[10:34] Rosie Gray: viewtopic.php?t=10674
[10:34] Rosie Gray: done
[10:34] Jerry McNally: Just a quick comment from me
[10:34] Tanoujin Milestone raises hand
[10:34] Rosie Gray: there's the transcript
[10:35] Jerry McNally: I scanned the transcript and got the impression that the PBR materials project is immense
[10:35] Rosie Gray: yes it is Jerry
[10:35] Jerry McNally: Does the AG have all it needs for that?
[10:35] Rosie Gray: well, we are educating ourselves about it
[10:35] Jerry McNally notes Tan's hand (branch) and Tor's
[10:36] Rosie Gray: uploading the PBR textures are expensive for those of us who aren't Premium Plus
[10:36] Rosie Gray: so it's just time now, and Money
[10:36] Rosie Gray: if you see PBR now on your viewers I have updated this room a little bit
[10:37] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): can we budget for thay?
[10:37] Rosie Gray: the grates in the windows and the floor and the marble risers are all PBR now
[10:37] Jerry McNally: Ok, I guess the RA will hear more updates from the AG in due Course
[10:37] Jerry McNally: Tan please
[10:37] Rosie Gray nods
[10:38] Tanoujin Milestone: thank you - i see a topic approval request by moon in my forums inbox - is that an forum update you would like to see?
[10:38] Tanoujin Milestone: rosie?
[10:38] Rosie Gray: a topic approval request?
[10:38] Rosie Gray: I don't know what it means, Tan
[10:38] Jerry McNally: me neither
[10:38] Tanoujin Milestone: me neither, I will ask herself
[10:38] Tanoujin Milestone: done
[10:38] Rosie Gray: okay ㋡
[10:39] Jerry McNally: ok, Tor please
[10:39] Tor Karlsvalt: Just want to say that Moon is a patient teacher and very tolerable of beginners. And I am a plus, so I wouldn't mind uploading stuff. My fee is less.
[10:39] Tor Karlsvalt: done
[10:39] Rosie Gray: thanks Tor.. the issue with that, for me anyway
[10:39] Agatha Macbeth: Moonie is great
[10:40] Rosie Gray: is that I need to test the textures through the 'local' feature to see that they are as expected
[10:40] Rosie Gray: it's all quite time consuming
[10:40] Tor Karlsvalt nods.
[10:40] Rosie Gray: and then I don't want to spend the time organizing to send to someone else to upload
[10:40] Rosie Gray: and then wait for it
[10:40] Rosie Gray: sorry it just adds another layer, although I appreciate the offer
[10:41] Rosie Gray: and another thing is that it then doesn't have my name on it... I guess that's a bit of a 'legacy' thing
[10:41] Rosie Gray: done
[10:42] Jerry McNally: thanks. And I guess these issues are being replicated all across the SL grid by other landscape developers?
[10:42] Jerry McNally: Yes Almut?
[10:43] Almut Brunswick: I appreciate Moon's introduction talk, but I think the AG must do MUCH more to make the knowhow gathered accessible to all AG creators in a more systematic way. It is not matter of the RA of course, but of the AG, and so we must discuss it on the next AG meeting. Done.
[10:43] Jerry McNally: Ok thanks
[10:44] Jerry McNally: Just before we move on, I'd like to say we appreciate the enormous project ahead of the AG, and if there's anything we as the RA or just as citizens can do to help, let us know
[10:45] Rosie Gray: thank you Jerry
[10:45] Jerry McNally: And also, just a prompt that at the last RA meeting I shared that citizen comment about developing the underwater areas of CDS. I know you're all super busy, but I don't want that request to be missed.
4 Old Business
4.1 Update on Review of Process for Removing and/or Replacing RA Members: viewtopic.php?t=10677
[10:46] Jerry McNally: Speaking of "requests", let's continue with the next point on the Agenda
[10:47] Jerry McNally: The RA have been debating various aspects of this topic over email, and our current thinking is posted on the forum at viewtopic.php?t=10677
[10:48] Jerry McNally: We're looking at our "Rules of Procedure" document, to freshen it up and make sure it remains fit for Purpose
[10:48] Jerry McNally: Do any other RA members wish to add anything at this point?
[10:48] Almut Brunswick: raises her hand
[10:48] Jerry McNally: It's something that is still in progress
[10:48] Jerry McNally: Yes Almut
[10:49] Almut Brunswick: A formal thing to make referencing easier: Let's add paragraph numbers and letters.
[10:49] Jerry McNally: yep, good idea
[10:49] Almut Brunswick: Done.
[10:50] Jerry McNally: So, the RA will continue to refine this and will post the final version online at https://cdsdemocracy.org/governance/ra/ra-procedures/
[10:50] Almut Brunswick nods in agreement.
[10:50] Jerry McNally: Anj, any comment? I could see you typing there for a while
[10:51] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): A small one - do rt have to present our review to the SC?
[10:52] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): done
[10:52] Tanoujin Milestone: Me raises Hand
[10:52] Jerry McNally: No I don't believe so, this is just an internal text for the RA, to help it manage its own business. WOuld others agree?
[10:52] Almut Brunswick: Agreed!
[10:53] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): Aye
[10:53] Almut Brunswick: But Tan raises his ...branch
[10:53] Jerry McNally: Tan please
[10:54] Tanoujin Milestone: thank you - imho you do not have to present anything, because there was no law flagged, it waas just a hint from the SC that this could need some attention. And we follow anyway, so all fine
[10:54] Jerry McNally: Excellent, let's move on
4.2 Update on Review of CDSL 13-05 Chancellor Election Act: viewtopic.php?t=10676
[10:55] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit) nods, thank you
[10:55] Rosie Gray: there is Gwyn come online
[10:55] Rosie Gray: should we see if she is joining us?
[10:55] Jerry McNally: I started a new discussion thread about this at viewtopic.php?t=10676 but it hasn't had much traction up to now
[10:55] Jerry McNally: (That's up to her)
[10:56] Jerry McNally: Could I ask the RA and wider community to look at this before the next RA meeting and suggest concrete proposals?
[10:56] Almut Brunswick raises her hand
[10:56] Jerry McNally: I liked Almut's point on the forum about looking at the wider election law
[10:57] Jerry McNally: Almut please
[10:57] Rosie Gray: I started drafting a response but then got waylaid
[10:57] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): yes sorry - been ill
[10:57] Jerry McNally: No worries Rosie and Anj, can't be helped
[10:57] Agatha Macbeth hugs Anj again
[10:57] Rosie Gray: we have a little while before the next term
[10:58] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): lol
[10:58] Almut Brunswick: Please look at my comments first before we start working on it. In my humble opinion, it is a much bigger bundle of regulations to touch than just the Chancellor election. I thus propose to create another Google document and to draft a universal Election Act. Done.
[10:58] Jerry McNally: Thanks, looking forward to that
[10:58] Tanoujin Milestone: me raises hand (btranch)
[10:58] Agatha Macbeth: Yay
[10:59] Agatha Macbeth: Hi Gwyn
[10:59] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Whoops... I'm so sorry
[10:59] Tanoujin Milestone: Hi Gwyn
[10:59] Rosie Gray: hello Gwyn
[10:59] Tanoujin Milestone: good morning comrade
[10:59] Jerry McNally: One idea I had about the next chancellor would be to just go to the next citizen alphabetically in the census
[10:59] Rosie Gray: egads, Jerry!
[10:59] Rosie Gray faints
[10:59] Jerry McNally: Why not??
[10:59] Jerry McNally: Anyway, Tan please
[10:59] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): err - thats/// bold
[11:00] Tor Karlsvalt: hi Gwyn
[11:00] Tanoujin Milestone: thank you - i would ask you to consult CDSL 20-02 By election act to prepare for that discussion
[11:00] Rosie Gray nods
[11:00] Tanoujin Milestone: it would spare us some time. THank you, done
[11:00] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit) nods too
[11:01] Jerry McNally: Yes I'm sure that would be part of it. Something I'd like to do is better arrange the webpage that lists the laws, to group them by theme or topic https://cdsdemocracy.org/governance/laws/
[11:01] Jerry McNally: That might help
[11:01] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): tag cloud Jerry
[11:02] Jerry McNally: But anyway, this agenda item continues to the next meeting
[11:02] Jerry McNally: Good idea Anj
[11:02] Jerry McNally: Is that enough on that for now? Shall we move on?
[11:02] Almut Brunswick: Nods
5 Citizen Concerns
[11:03] Jerry McNally: Thanks. 5 Citizen Concerns
[11:03] Jerry McNally: I asked around on Discord and inworld again for any comments from citizens, but none were forthcoming
[11:03] Gwyneth Llewelyn pokes the citizens
[11:03] Jerry McNally: everyone must be content!
[11:03] Gwyneth Llewelyn: \o/
[11:03] Tor Karlsvalt:
[11:03] Tanoujin Milestone: careless. tzzzz
[11:03] Agatha Macbeth: None from moi
[11:04] Almut Brunswick: or in fear of our secret police ;D
[11:04] Jerry McNally: Are there any comments this afternoon?
[11:04] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): er must be doing good
[11:04] Rosie Gray: lol
[11:04] Gwyneth Llewelyn: So, does that mean we're doing something right for a change?!
[11:04] Jerry McNally: Shh Almut!
[11:04] Agatha Macbeth: Or just not doing anything wrong...
[11:04] Almut Brunswick: "Everybody must be content!" "Indeed - they MUST!"
[11:04] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Didn't we fire the secret police?
[11:04] Gwyneth Llewelyn: AH
[11:04] Gwyneth Llewelyn: hehe all rghty Almut
[11:04] Tor Karlsvalt: LOL, the secret police are probably all at the weekend sales.
[11:05] Tanoujin Milestone: lol
[11:05] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Indeed
[11:05] Almut Brunswick: Rubber sticks are on discount
[11:05] Agatha Macbeth: Or looking for illegal migrants
[11:05] Tor Karlsvalt: hehe
[11:05] Gwyneth Llewelyn: or watching the Olympics
[11:05] Tor Karlsvalt: yes!
6 RA Member Concerns
[11:05] Gwyneth Llewelyn is concerned that she needs a new watch
[11:06] Jerry McNally: One quick one from me - shall we restart the Government Q&A Hours thing?
[11:06] Gwyneth Llewelyn: We must, Jerry
[11:06] Gwyneth Llewelyn: it's mandatory!
[11:06] Rosie Gray: I guess we are supposed to have them
[11:06] Tanoujin Milestone: hehe
[11:06] Agatha Macbeth: Oh forgot about that
[11:06] Rosie Gray: someone made a law about it
[11:06] Jerry McNally realises he might need to do something on that, now that he's the LRA
[11:06] Tor Karlsvalt: We did one last term. Part of a party.
[11:06] Gwyneth Llewelyn: but it's Tor that sets the schedule I believe
[11:06] Gwyneth Llewelyn: mm hmm
[11:06] Gwyneth Llewelyn is always fine with parties
[11:06] Jerry McNally: Let's tie it in to an upcoming event, like last time
[11:06] Tanoujin Milestone: tea! cake!
[11:07] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Let's do one at the Thermae!
[11:07] Jerry McNally: Something to discuss with the Exec outside this meeting, I think
[11:07] Tor Karlsvalt: LOL, I think most were happy to get past the Q&A and into the Party
[11:07] Tor Karlsvalt: Thermae sounds good
[11:07] Agatha Macbeth wonders why
[11:08] Jerry McNally: OK minute-taker, put an action down for me to discuss this with the Chancellor and SC, to get this going again
[11:08] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Sounds like a plan ㋡
[11:08] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Or, rather: ACTION!
[11:08] Jerry McNally: Are there any other RA member concerns?
[11:08] Tanoujin Milestone: Just kick Tor into it, Jerry
[11:08] Tor Karlsvalt jots down an action item
[11:09] Gwyneth Llewelyn: That's the spirit!
7 Announcements
[11:09] Jerry McNally: I have an update from the MoCA curator to share
[11:09] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Only 7? Great.
[11:09] Jerry McNally: lol at Gwyneth again
[11:10] Agatha Macbeth throws stuff at Gwyn
[11:10] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Sorry, got distracted with Almut's lovely new T-shirt
[11:10] Jerry McNally: Right, here's Tori's update, and no I'm not doing the accent
[11:10] Tor Karlsvalt personally mentioned the MoCA initiative to two artists
[11:10] Jerry McNally:
Hi everyone,
1) I've made with contact with the RL artist Adam Nash (SL: Adam Ramona) who had not been in SL for many years and will be meeting him in SL on Monday to facilitate a copyable version of his sculpture Infra Assemblage being given to MoCAso. Infra Assemblage is on the roof of the museum and currently owned by Adam. You may read more about the sculpture here: https://adamnash.net.au/secondlife/infr ... blage.html
2) The museum has been accepted to be a part of the SLEA (Second Life Endowment for the Arts) TEACH PEACE Exhibition. We have a 64 x 64 platform and 500 prims. It would be wonderful if as many citizens as possible would participate in this please. Please send images, written word, sculptures etc to the museum's avatar, MoCAso Oh, with the permission set to Modify/Copy/No Transfer and send pieces to MoCAso as soon as possible. If you don't wish to make your artwork with the permission set to Modify then please contact me for a resizer script. This allows the artwork to be resized without anything else being modified. More information here: https://www.sleagrants.com/blog/2024/07 ... rough-art/
3) SL21B has finished, however, the Elements Exhibition is still in the museum's ground floor Gallery for people to view. Although I did not have a visitor counter at SL21B there was traffic on the parcel every day showing that people were visiting and staying for a least a little while. Photos of the museum at SL21B are available in the CDS Flickr group: https://www.flickr.com/groups/_cds/
4) With the 20th anniversaries of CDS and the museum approaching soon I'd like to hear people's thoughts on an exhibition and events the community would like to hold at the museum as part of this please.
5) As most of you know I've been ill with suspected Covid recently. This has unfortunately resulted in me not having time to put together an Olympics & Paralympics exhibition for the opening of the Olympics, however, I do hope to put together an exhibition before the opening of the Paralympics at the end of August.
Thank you and done
[11:11] Gwyneth Llewelyn applauds vigorously!
[11:11] Tor Karlsvalt: Tori is amazing.
[11:12] Rosie Gray: she is!
[11:12] Jerry McNally: Another marvellous account, I'm sure you'll agree
[11:12] Agatha Macbeth: She is
[11:12] Gwyneth Llewelyn: I second that!
[11:12] Almut Brunswick: Tori is a real asset!
[11:12] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Gosh, I never thought hat the CDS would ever be able to come near the SLEA....
[11:12] Jerry McNally: Lots to read there, so please go back and follow the links and send comments and suggestions her way
[11:12] Gwyneth Llewelyn: ... much less get approved for anything !
[11:13] Rosie Gray: fantastic work on Tori's part ㋡
[11:13] Jerry McNally: She'll no doubt read the transcript of this meeting, but I'll made sure your compliments are passed on to her
[11:13] Tor Karlsvalt: It is truely wonderful
[11:14] Tanoujin Milestone: an ongoing wonder
[11:14] Gwyneth Llewelyn: And I wish her a full recovery too, btw... on top of everything
[11:14] Agatha Macbeth: Indeed
[11:14] Almut Brunswick: Very much so!
[11:14] Tor Karlsvalt: And pleased that the MoCA, and old, maybe oldest art museum, is finally getting some action.
[11:14] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): ill let her know
[11:15] Tor Karlsvalt: Yes, Ang, I wish her all the best .
[11:15] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Tor: it took us 20 years to get started, but oh my, now it's full steam ahead!
[11:15] Tor Karlsvalt nods at Gwyn.
[11:15] Agatha Macbeth: Well at least we know what we're doing!
[11:15] Rosie Gray: it did have some 'action' years ago, around 2007 as I recall!
[11:15] Gwyneth Llewelyn: That's true! Or rathr: Tori knows what she's doing, we're just smiling and waving ...
[11:16] Jerry McNally: Indeed. Are there any other announcements? The events calendar is online at https://cdsdemocracy.org/cds-events as usual
[11:16] Agatha Macbeth smiles and waves to Tori
[11:16] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Rosie, I know, I'm not being honest to past curators
[11:16] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Well well
[11:16] Gwyneth Llewelyn: I think that another Order of Anzere is due....
[11:17] Tor Karlsvalt:
[11:17] Tanoujin Milestone: good point!
[11:17] Gwyneth Llewelyn: (and aye, that would be the only point worth mentioning)
[11:17] Rosie Gray: oh yes, that should go on next RA meeting Agenda ㋡
[11:17] Jerry McNally: Noted!
[11:17] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Aye, it should. I think that we have a perfect candidate
8 Date of Next RA Meeting
[11:18] Jerry McNally: On that note, we come to 8 Date of Next RA Meeting
[11:18] Gwyneth Llewelyn wildly grabs at her agenda
[11:18] Jerry McNally: I'm initially proposing Sunday, August 11, 2024, 12:00 SLT but no doubt RL summer plans may play a part
[11:19] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): ...and watch?
[11:19] Rosie Gray: it's fine for me
[11:19] Gwyneth Llewelyn: and watch, indeed, Anj!!
[11:19] Almut Brunswick: Since I'm already back from my holidays, August 11 is fine for me
[11:19] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): fine for me too
[11:20] Jerry McNally: How is the date (and time) for you Gwyn?
[11:20] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Oh, I was just checking, and it's perfectly fine for me
[11:20] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Last time I had some holidays was in 2013 So I'm good, no worries
[11:20] Agatha Macbeth: Aww
[11:20] Jerry McNally: Right, we'll hold you to that
[11:21] Almut Brunswick: Don't complain, slave!
[11:21] Rosie Gray:
[11:21] Gwyneth Llewelyn will fill her house with clocks
[11:21] Gwyneth Llewelyn: ... and store fully-charged batteries
[11:21] Jerry McNally: And I hope Tor and some SC members could join us again at that time? Is that date ok with you?
[11:21] Tanoujin Milestone: yes, fine
[11:21] Almut Brunswick imagines Gwyn's clocks like those on some Dali paintings...
[11:21] Tor Karlsvalt: Probably
[11:21] Rosie Gray: hehe
[11:22] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Well, after the heat wave early last week, sure, they were all Dalificated
[11:22] Gwyneth Llewelyn: He is, Tan
[11:22] Tor Karlsvalt: Advantage of being retired, is that I leave weekends to the working shmucks.
[11:22] Jerry McNally: haha!
[11:22] Gwyneth Llewelyn chuckles
[11:23] Almut Brunswick: So we all agree on that date and time? Then it could be put into the Google calendar.
[11:23] Tor Karlsvalt: yup
[11:23] Rosie Gray: lol, Agatha
[11:23] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Aye!
[11:23] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): Aye
[11:24] Jerry McNally: Thanks for your votes though I'm not sure what you're voting on - and yes, could someone add that to the calendar please?
[11:24] Rosie Gray: just did that, Jerry
[11:24] Jerry McNally: Super, thanks Rosie
[11:24] Gwyneth Llewelyn: We were voting on the dates, although, on second thoughts, we might not, strictly speaking, need that
[11:24] Gwyneth Llewelyn: yay thanks Rosie!
[11:25] Jerry McNally: I already got confirmation about the dates, but the LRA thanks you for your commitment to democracy and the Robert's Rules of Order
[11:25] Rosie Gray: hehe
9 Adjourn
[11:25] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit): lol
[11:25] Agatha Macbeth: Who's Robert?
[11:25] Tanoujin Milestone: he invented some session rules
[11:25] Rosie Gray: he's a very officious guy, Agatha
[11:25] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Heh
[11:25] Almut Brunswick: See? Even native speakers don't know him!
[11:26] Jerry McNally: On that note, I'm going to steamroll through my motion and declare this meeting adjourned!
[11:26] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Agatha is a Brit!
[11:26] Rosie Gray: yay, thank you Jerry!
[11:26] Gwyneth Llewelyn: They already had rules for meetings centuries before Roberts was born
[11:26] Almut Brunswick: Yay! Jerry terminated this meeting the Almutian way!
[11:26] Tanoujin Milestone: great timing Jerry!
[11:26] Gwyneth Llewelyn: haha
[11:26] Anjoux Landau Herbit (anjoux.herbit) thanksthe LRA
[11:26] Tor Karlsvalt once had a copy of Robert's Rules
[11:26] Gwyneth Llewelyn: you mean in time? oh aye, 4 minutes to spare and all!
[11:26] Agatha Macbeth is clueless
[11:26] Gwyneth Llewelyn whispers: well done, Mr LRA!
[11:27] Tor Karlsvalt: yay!
[11:27] Rosie Gray: The "Robert" in "Robert's Rules of Order" refers to Henry Martyn Robert, an American soldier and engineer. Born on May 2, 1837, in Robertville, South Carolina, Robert graduated from West Point and served in the Union Army during the Civil War, eventually rising to the rank of Brigadier General in the Army Corps of Engineers. He is best known for authoring "Robert's Rules of Order," a manual of parliamentary procedure first published in 1876. This manual was created to help organizations conduct orderly and efficient meetings, inspired by his own experience presiding over a chaotic church meeting in New Bedford, Massachusetts, in 1863
[11:27] Tanoujin Milestone sniffs a line of fertilizer to be fit for the after-hour
[11:27] Almut Brunswick: Great meeting everyone!
[11:27] Gwyneth Llewelyn: There you go, Agatha.
[11:27] Jerry McNally: Ok, we're done, please go home reread the update from Tori and get involved in the law review and all the rest
[11:27] Tor Karlsvalt: LOL
[11:27] Agatha Macbeth: There you go, he's a Yank, no wonder I didn't know
[11:27] Jerry McNally: "Democracy in Action!"
[11:28] Gwyneth Llewelyn: Obviously
[11:28] Almut Brunswick: Chaotic church meeting.... so so...
[11:28] Rosie Gray: we use his rules in Canada a lot too
[11:28] Gwyneth Llewelyn chuckles
[11:28] Rosie Gray: they are very good
[11:28] Tanoujin Milestone: confirmed!
[11:28] Almut Brunswick knows church meeting from rocker clubs
[11:28] Gwyneth Llewelyn: well, for a certain measure of "good"....
[11:28] Tor Karlsvalt: Sounds right. I remember Tocqueville observed Americans liked to join clubs.
[11:28] Tanoujin Milestone: it it is no motion, it does not exist
[11:28] Gwyneth Llewelyn nods
[11:28] Rosie Gray: ㋡
