Chanellorship and RA byelection positions filled by acclamation

The nomination period for this byelection ended last night, Friday the 29th, at 11.59 PM SLT.

During the designated nomination period I only received notecards from Tor Karlsvalt declaring to run for the Chancellorship, and Cathy Sabre, declaring to run for the vacant seat on the Representative Assembly.

Therefore Tor Karlsvalt will continue as Chancellor and Cathy Sabre will fill the vacant seat on the RA for the 42nd term.

Thank you both for your willingness to serve.

People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote -- a very different thing.
