3 Executive Report (Chancellor Tor Karlsvalt)

  • Citizenship: The CDS currently has 82–83 citizens, depending on tier status.
  • Upcoming Elections: Two census periods are planned for candidate and voter eligibility.
  • Floralia Festival: Planning is underway. Rosie Gray has begun a spring garden community project.
  • SL22B Application: Tor has applied for a CDS exhibit at Second Life's 22nd birthday celebration.
  • Theme: “Myths and Legends.” Tor is considering highlighting the Colonia Nova center.
  • VWEC Tour: The VW Education Consortium has requested a tour focused on CN and LA regions.
  • Third Thursday Q&A: The most recent event was well attended but had few questions. Ideas were shared to increase engagement and invite the Scientific Council to future events.
  • Sailing Events: Tor is developing cruise routes from Grumpy Harbor, including a potential partnership with a local sailing school.

4 Artisan Guild Report (Rosie Gray)

  • No Guild meetings have occurred since the last RA session.
  • New building activity is ongoing in Locus Amoenus (LA), with three new builds in progress.
  • Sudane Erato and Moon Adamant are involved in creating and replacing structures in the village area.
  • Cable Car Project: Still in the planning phase. One route is currently proposed but faces some challenges with terrain and placement. Further progress is expected at the next Guild meeting scheduled for April 6, 2025.

5 Old Business

5.1 Review of CDSL 13-05 Chancellor Election Act and Related Laws

A workshop to review election law was scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 12:00 PM SLT at the Pip Torok Community Center. Almut Brunswick will update the CDS calendar and prepare additional forum commentary in advance of the meeting.

5.2 Update on CDS Website and Other CDS Material

Website Updates: Jerry McNally is updating the Land and Visit Us pages using images from the CDS photography contest. All new images will include alt text for accessibility. Work is ongoing to implement an accessible menu structure.

Tour HUD: The idea of a CDS tour HUD was discussed. No volunteers have come forward to lead the project at this time. Jerry is open to suggestions but noted the topic may be dropped unless interest arises.

6 Citizen Concerns

Gwyneth Llewelyn playfully questioned when CDS would reach 140 citizens, referencing Dunbar’s Number. General discussion followed, but no actionable concerns were raised.

7 RA Member Concerns

No formal concerns were raised by RA members.

8 Announcements

Upcoming CDS events are displayed on the CDS Google Calendar, as shown on the cdsdemocracy.org homepage.

Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) Update (shared by Jerry McNally on behalf of Tori Landau):

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) opened its latest exhibitions on February 14 with a successful fundraising party featuring DJ Roxeena Roxley. The CDS IN FOCUS exhibition, marking 20 years of CDS, has moved to the middle floor and is best viewed starting from the Neufreistadt image in a clockwise direction. Current exhibitions include Love Is All Around on the ground floor, featured works by Camie Rembrandt and Ellie Baily in the alcoves, Love Story on the second floor, and Assembly Required in the garden.

An additional event is planned for May to complement the Love Is All Around theme. MoCA has applied to take part in SL22B, themed Myths and Legends, and a call for creative submissions will follow.

The annual CDS Easter Egg Hunt will run from April 13 to 28, open to all businesses. Participants must use version 2 of the HUD, available at the museum.

On the technical side, MoCA is experimenting with Media On A Prim (MOAP) to enhance exhibitions with features like music HUDs and interactive directories, although there are some usability challenges. A general directory was proposed, not just for galleries but for all CDS enterprises.

9 Date of Next RA Meeting

The next meeting was scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM SLT.

10 Adjournment

The meeting adjourned at 12:25 PM SLT.
