Please change snowy trees to green!

Post by Sudane Erato »

Now that spring has come to Neufreistadt, may we urge all citizens with parcels of land there to change their snowy trees to spring/summer/fall trees? Snowy trees really do look out of place when the land is green and the flowers are in bloom!

Would it be possible to turn off the fog in Neufreistadt for the season? When it was snowing I found it very appropriate! Now it kind of obstructs the views.

Grüsse / Greetings

Nikki -

Neufreistadt is literally a City in Clouds - our altitude puts us up in the Linden cloud layer hence the fog.

You can turn it off by hitting ctrl-alt-shift-minus sign.

Hallo Frl. Sachertorte!

Thank you for the answer - but oh - auh, no sunny days in our town unless you make them for yourself?! :(
I have been doing that every time lately with the ctrl-alt-shift-minus because it looked better to me, which is one reason why I thought it would be good to try to get it changed.

Do the clouds go everywhere in SL at that altitude? I have visited tropical islands that seemed to have no clouds (for example „Strandclub”), but perhaps if I would fly up high from there they would appear.

Yes, Nikki. Clouds in SL are automatically generated at between 170ish and 200 meters. If a tropical island is low enough (and it has to be, usually, for the water!) and your draw distance is low enough, you'll never see the clouds - they're just normal particles. There's a gridwide 'weather simulator' - as I understand it, they act as a sort of simulated fluid, which is why you can sometimes have no clouds at that level and have thick banks at other times.

Good to know - thank you Aliasi!

There are still some snowy trees on public property along the western road out of Neufreistadt. If these are changed the area would look more like spring.

Also, if someone with authorization goes to do this work in the northwest corner of the sim, I would appreciate it if they could also help with some plants that are in the way when you go from this road to my land, just west of the bridge. Could these please be separated so someone can go through, or perhaps removed altogether?

Thank you :) !

(I've helped Nikki a bit with this)

- Are summer pines different from the spring/autumn versions?

- Are medium/small version of trees also more detailed than when I shrink larger ones?
When the larger pines (esp. autumn) are shrunk, they get all blurry and ugly .. is there a way to avoid this?

- What trees are suggested besides the 2 pines? I can use a cedar tree here & there but other than that it's getting a bit monotonous ...
