Guild Faculty Chair Election

Post by Moon Adamant »

Hello all Guild Faculty members!

Guild Faculty Chair will be elected in the Faculty Meeting next sunday, the 29th April at 10 AM SLT, at the CN theatre.

If no quorum is attained at that time, Faculty will meet again 30 minutes later on with the members present.

Please point out your availability for Chair in replies to this post.

Moon asked me to post a reply to describe the role of the faculty chair. The chair is elected by members of a faculty on a twice yearly basis and is responsible for convening and chairing meetings of the faculty and initiating projects that promote the faculty's mission. From the charter:

[quote:12p46dx8]The faculty committee will design the curriculum for continuing education, decide on artistic and technical capabilities a student must demonstrate to obtain certification, and will set procedures and standards for the design and construction of new simulator regions.[/quote:12p46dx8]

The faculty might (in the future) include non-citizens and is self-electing, but does not set overall Guild policy. The Guild's administrative board has that responsibility. The board is open to all CDS citizens who are willing to contribute their time.

I am sorry that I have not been around these last few weeks, RL just overwhelmed me. But that should be ending this week! I would like to ask anyone that is on the Faculty to please IM me in world or e-mail times that you would be availible for holding office hours.

And I will be throwing my hat into the ring for this job, so vote for me! ;)
