I added a couple of miniature houses to the model of Rose's sim-proposal ('Alpine Meadows and Farms'), to give more of an impression how it would look *with* houses. [i:3onmdlzw]Please note: Afaik, German 'Fachwerk' houses are not part of the proposal.[/i:3onmdlzw] Folks in charge can delete them of course. I've shared the houses with the 'CDS' group, so citizens should be able to move them around.

PS. Please let me know what your thoughts are about my proposal for the undeveloped area in NFS[/url:3onmdlzw]. Dankeschön :)

Nea Hora

Post by Arria Perreault »

After reflexion, we have decided to make some changes to our proposal "Nea Hora". At the last Guild meeting, we have heard some interesting opinions. We agree with the idea that the space between CN and NFS is not the good one to put a greek village. There is not enough space (the cliff takes a lot of room) and the border of the village will be to close to the last range of CN houses. For that reason, we will make the proposition to install (virtually) this greek village on an other place and NOT between NFS and CN. We did not yet choosed a place on the master plan. We hope to have the time to change our maps at the exhibition, until the closing of the votation.
The concept of the relief (with the cliff) remains at disposition of the Guild, if it is usefull once (for example, for a void sim which remains for us the best solution to solve the connection between NFS and CN).

Nea Chora version 2.0
-we have decided to make some changes to our proposal "Nea Hora".
- sim is not supposed to be connected to CDS existing sims[/quote:257kf7ar]
While I love the Greek theme and highly respect your work I think that if we're supposed to have self ruling sims with quite some participation, then ..

3 unconnected sim islands = a HOR RI BLE idea!

About Rose's sim model 'Alpine Meadows and Farms'[/i:3u6mlt70]

Now that the sculpted prims are available in SL, the terrain of Rose's model could be refined by using these special prims. An example:

[img:3u6mlt70]http://schallplatten.files.wordpress.co ... 56x256.png[/img:3u6mlt70]

I would be happy to provide a Blender file that people can work with, and also to create the final output, but someone else should tweak the vertices / adjust the height points to their desired position. I made the sculptie from the picture in this way.[/url:3u6mlt70] As posted earlier, it's of course possible to automatically convert sim-terrains to cool sculpties, but for now it's wishful thinking because no one has the time for that :) Landscaping sims with big sculpted prims is also possible, but they should all be phantom because LL hasn't properly implemented their physical behaviour yet. Example:
...But for the sim between NFS and CN, I'd have to prefer Rose's alpine solution.[/quote:2cts3uvq]

The Alps? Between Bavaria and ancient Italy? Where do people get those [i:2cts3uvq]crazy ideas[/i:2cts3uvq]?! ;)

Nea Hora 3.0

Post by Arria Perreault »

We have made an update of the model Nea Hora. This is the version 3.0 now. We now have a hill in the south east corner of the sim, with romantic remains of ancient ruins and cypres. We consider now that the best place to place this greek village is the top right corner of the CDS masterplan. We have made some reflexions about this masterplan and we propose to see in CN cluster a Mediterranean area, instead a pure roman area, and in NFS cluster an alpine area. The only problem, if we would like to be exact, is that we have Mediterrean sea in the North and Alps in the South. So let's think that SL is a virtual world... Anyway this is only an idea for the debate, but it is hard to imagine to have 5 roman sims around CN.
You can read a more detailled description and have some details about our proposal in the notecard attached to the sky behind the model.
