Newly appointed 'Citizens Commission'

Post by Mizou Vavoom »

As from last Sundays meeting the 13th of March the CDS citizens have a 'Citizens Commission', so citizens [b:8cf7zaw5]'let your voice be heard'.[/b:8cf7zaw5]
The CARE representative to the RA, (myself) has been asked to start the ball rolling for the CC...(I would love to call it 'Vox Populi'... which is supposed to translate into 'People's voice':) )
As I explained in my entry of 'Resignation from the CDS Representative Assembly', I have little to no political experience other then the kitchensink variety, which consists in listening to the people I care for and guide them to a hopefully happier, fulfilling & more productive life, in rl these are my kids and students; in sl it has been quite a few people who needed a mentor in sl to learn the tools and be part of a community.

[u:8cf7zaw5]So onto the start of the 'Citizens Commision'[/u:8cf7zaw5], [b:8cf7zaw5]you are all welcome to [/b:8cf7zaw5][b:8cf7zaw5]meet & talk informally[/b:8cf7zaw5] [u:8cf7zaw5]in the 'Utarid & Springvale' Inspiration Garden[/u:8cf7zaw5] :
[b:8cf7zaw5]Saturday the 19 th of May 2007 from 10 am to 12 am at the fountain.[/b:8cf7zaw5]
(Directions to Garden: at the telehub walk down to the end of the bridge, turn right, into the garden, down the path to the fountain.)

I will be there on the bench, I am open to any and all ideas.
If this time does not suit please let me know by IM and i will arrange a second time.

Mizou's Kitchensink Politics:
A pinch of Listening with a dash of Understanding, melted into a pot of 'Future Vision & Hopes' add sauce of 'TeamSpirit', cook slowly to mix it all gently and marinate all the individual flavours, then savour the results as a real caring community :)

I am a newbie citizen of CDS who resides in Neufreistadt (since last Sunday!) - and will try to make it. I have one commitment at 10AM this coming Saturday, so I will try to make it a little after 11AM. If I am unable to do that, I will try to IM.

I have little experience in politics, either, except as observer and a voter in my RL nation (USA) - so this will be an interesting thing! And I like the idea of an informal discussion - we can all climb off our "high horses" and descend from our "ivory towers" and meet "face to face" and chat about an important issue! :) [To me this is how all real Democracy happens - but I may be a newbie idealist?]

Hi Bromo,
Thanks for your supportive answer and for reaffirming what you said at the RA meeting on Sunday, which is to be a fully active citizen of the CDS.
Starting from the bottom up, face to face, with openmindedness & interest in our neighbours welfare and progress as a society...it is bound to be interesting.
See you then and if not at a more convenient time.

Rome wasn't build in one day, and this new Commission will take time too.
