A summary of yesterday's meeting of the Guild's 'prim task force', with conclusions and action points in bold:
Present: Beathan Vale, Jon Seattle, Moon Adamant, Nikki Maertens, Rose Springvale, Salzie Sachertorte, Sudane Erato, TOPGenosse Brouwer
Item (2) was discussed first. TOPs remarks regarding this[/url:2sdq5jos] gave Rose the impression that he wanted to favour one group over the other. That was a misunderstanding, and things are cleared up.
- - - TYING PRIM LOT TO NEW UNDEV. AREA LOT - - -
The discussion then proceeded to (1): In some way tying prim lots to two or three of the least attractive new lots in the Undeveloped Area. Moon made a good comparison of a flat appartment having its parking lot linked to it. TOPGenosse asks if this arrangement is needed. Sudane: Why can't people buy what they need? Rose and Jon agree. Afaik, Bromo showed a neutral opinion about this on the forum. TOPGenosse has no say in this [b:2sdq5jos]So all in all, no one favours this idea.[/b:2sdq5jos] Jon remarks that prim lots can be a point of sale, when offered along with regular lots, but that there's no need to really tie them together.
- - - PRIM STATUS NFS - - -
Back to (2). TOPGenosse remarks that for every 3 newly created prim lots, MoCA can display 1 medium sized sculpture less. This also counts for other events. Sudane remarks that
[b:2sdq5jos]* minimum as well as the 'maximum' number of prims designated for public use should be determined.
* general assessment for prims status necessary[/b:2sdq5jos]
TOPGenosse: before more prim lots are created. Sudane: The redevelopment project itself will cost 'public prims' too. Salzie remarks that it doesn't necessarily cost MoCA and others prims, prim lots could also be created from abandoned lots.
- - - POLICY - - -
Sudane: you can buy one standard prim parcel for each parcel in town if you need more you buy a normal "outside" parcel
- - - COVENANT - - -
Prim lots and/or policy (like how much can one person buy) are probably not in covenants. Jon:
[b:2sdq5jos]* the task is to decide on changes in the covenants[/b:2sdq5jos] that can help with this
Moon also proposed some nifty rule about linking prim lot allowances to urban plot allocation but that went past me.
- - - UNDEV. AREA: 'CITY FEEL' VERSUS PRIM COUNT - - -
TOPGenosse: So what is the best way to keep that 'city feel' (houses close toghether) but not compromising too much on the number of prims? Options:
* Covenant adjustment with desired rules for Undeveloped Area
* Covenant adjustment, not mention Undev. Area itself.
* Redrawing the planned map (not mentioned)
Moon remarks that non-square plots are prim inefficient. Moon sees nothing wrong with 144 sqm./33 prim lots, TOPGenosse says this is very unattractive to buyers. Regarding this TOPGenosse says that having back instead of front yards will help for 'city feel' and covenant adjustments can do that. Moon counters that big lots are bad for city feel anyway. Sudane, who volunteered to rebuild the Undev. Area, says TOPGenosse's drawings are pretty good and that the current prim policy works fine with that (no tying).
[b:2sdq5jos]No consensus about 'solution', no one argued to really change TOPGenosses maps.[/b:2sdq5jos][/size:2sdq5jos]
