New Sim - Land Issues

Post by Salzie Sachertorte »

Did the RA set any direction as to public/private land ratio as they did for CN? Will there be any public land, other than the waterways and roads? Perhaps the ski slopes could be public land as well?

I like the idea of NGO's supporting semi-public structures (churches, museums, schools, etc) and I think it wise to have such institutions in each sim, regardless if they are intended as bedrooms sims. Doing so will keep the traffic flowing through the CDS and enhance the sense of community.

I would also suggest that prim lots of cliffs and unbuildable terrain be tied to the buildable areas, thus offering adequate prims for not only the building but the decorating. This also will ensure that no one person scoops up all the available prim land and builds themselves a Neuschwanstein.

The RA authorized the Guild to progress with a more detailed level of sim planning, and the treasurer to begin to seek out financing. The former was more, I believe, to follow the Guild's internal sim planning process than anything in CDS code.

When CN was submitted , it was essentially done. It came to the RA with all the parcels mapped, draft versions of covenant. etc. The current proposal isn't yet that specific. If the incoming RA wants to set public/private land percentages or other conditions, they are of course welcome to do so.

Very good point. We are busy with that more detailed level of planning and plan to submit such a plan to the RA by the end of this month.
