Calendar Girl

Post by Rose Springvale »

have your attention? :)

I'm working on several things and wanted to bring the forum readers up-to-date and hopefully find answers to some questions without chasing everyone down individually in world. If you can help, please feel free to im me!

1. I'm trying to make the calendar on this site functional. We use Google calendar, which is easy ... hopefully the new portal designers can incorporate it. For the time being, you can link to the actual calendar by clicking the Google logo (community in the side task bar, then Events list). For some reason the entries don't show on the site page, but if you click to the actual calendar, they do. A bug I hope we can work out.

2. If you follow that path, you'll see I've added some basic events... New Guild and RA at their usual times and Brian's Game night which he says will recommence this week. I've also entered the class that Arria has planned this week. If the location for an event is set (does the RA meet every other week at a different locale? where?) that can be added.

In scheduling other events, it would be helpful to have other regularly scheduled or special meetings and classes all in the same place. If your faction has a set meeting time, let me know and I'll add it. Likewise special commissions, ngo's etc. The community is more vibrant than we give ourselves credit for at times and it will show up if we put them all in one place. Also,I don't want to schedule social events at times that conflict with business.

3. Finally, for people like me who'd rather have their information in world, I'm creating a set of notecards with sim and land information, landmarks and event lists, to be available in the forum and the platz. Does anyone know what happened to the structure that used to be in Colonia Nova for that purpose? if so, please send it to me (with perms if possible).

More on specific events as they arise.

Thanks,
Rose

I don't see anything in that calendar except for last August (2006) stuff. Perhaps you are editing your own private, non-shared calendar and that's why it's not showing up?

When I tried this some time ago I was under the impression that it did not take international time zones into consideration. (We ended up with things posted at very strange times!) This is something that I assume Google would be quick to fix. I am curious: has anyone tried posting an event or viewing the calendar from Europe?

It says the times are all slt.. and are in military format... so not sure how that would be an issue.

The problem is that one must have access to the account to post to the calendar. I'm working on it.
