Here are the details on the Storytelling event this Saturday. Please come!
In 1812 and 1814, the brothers Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm published the two volume Kinder- und Hausmärchen (Children and Household Tales). Volume One was an unpretentious book containing 86 numbered folktales, while the second volume added 70 stories to the previous collection. The work saw six additional editions during the Grimms' lifetime. In its final version, it contained 200 numbered stories plus 10 "Children's Legends." Unbeknownst to the Grimms at the time, it was destined to become the best known, most widely translated, and most influential book ever created in the German language. On Sept 15, Second Life's master storyteller, Gilbert Sapwood, brings those stories to life, with two live concerts with tales taken from and inspired by the work of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm.
THE CONCERTS:
Saturday, Sept15 - 1 pm SLT Gilbert's Grimm Tales, Schloss Neufreistadt
Join Storytelling Guild founder and professional storyteller Gilbert Sapwood for a live streaming concert of fairy tales taken from and inspired by the collections of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Hear what really happened to Cinderella's sisters, and lean about the boy who was as red as blood and as white as snow. Gilbert will be telling tales from a fairytale castle with an open rooftop, perfect for stories that start "Once upon a time..."
Saturday, Sept15 - 6 pm SLT Gilbert's Grimm Tales, Colonia Nova Amphitheatre
Join Storytelling Guild founder and professional storyteller Gilbert Sapwood for a live streaming concert of fairy tales taken from and inspired by the collections of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. This concert will be live, but will feature the same tales as the 1 pm concert, retold for listeners in North America.
