Covenant Task Force Meeting of Nov7th - Summary

Post by Moon Adamant »

Hi all,

Since the log of the last meeting takes 28 pages, here is a summary of the voted points.
Mind that a lot of valid points of view and solutions were offered at the Zones and Materials discussion, and this summary doesn't feature them. I would recommend that people wanting to propose language for covenants regarding these matters DO read the transcript.

Summary:

General CDS covenants (this being the formulation proposed for the Alp Mead sim text).

Scripts allowance

The language will be similar to the SLNE covenants, detailing better the action of the Executive branch, and the inclusion of a possibility of appeal of Exec decision to the SC.
So, the new language will be close to this:

“The use of excessive scripts which adversly effect sim performance is not permitted, determination of the same is at the sole discretion of the Chancellor, who is entitled to remove the scripts. An appeal of the Chancellor decision can be submitted to the SC.”

Exterior signs

It was voted to propose that the resctrictions to signs that appear on the sim-wide covenants shall become General CDS Covenant, and also that the language be changed to focus on exterior signs:

“Exterior signs are allowed, unless they be floating, particle emitting, or rotating."

Sim Wide covenants (applying only in the Alp Mead sim)

Teleportation

Voted: “AM will allow Direct Teleporting, but will feature a centralized default Hub in the sim”

Skyboxes

Voted: “Skyboxes will be allowed over all private parcels, at a height no less than 512m.”

Commercial function

Voted: “Commercial function is allowed if falling within the theme of the sim, or, failing that, be kept in interior spaces.”

Zones

After a lenghty discussion, it was decided to postpone it to the next meeting, all present with a strong interest in the discussion being urged to concretize their opinions then.
To allow that sufficiently close proposals be presented , two assumptions were voted:

A general description of the sim as “alpine, rural and antique“.
There must be a zone differentiation, if minimal, to encompass the transition of themes.

So please incoporate the two assumptions above in your zone plans and proposals.

Eudaimonia now!
