Information:
AM map has been changed to better accomodate roads. New map will be posted soon.

AM terraforming:
Sudane is terraforming generally and Jon and Tony are assuring the mid section of the sim. There is need of extra help at terraforming in:

- the high slopes, specially near AT1
- the hamlet area
- the backwater area

Notice also:
all terraforming must be done by next friday, the 30th. So please offer up for to help on those if you have time to do it till Friday.

AM landscaping:

We will mainly use SL trees, because of primmage and also because of the need to replace winter/summer landscape. Prim trees can be used but sparingly because of the issue above. Also, a mid area will be created that will be more of an open meadow. Arria and Rose will try to make an edelweiss cluster for this area :)

Notice: we are planning to set all vegetation next saturday, at a treefest :)

AM land management group
ALL work in AM must be set to the Land Verwaltung group, so that we can start unifying groups. The Alpine Meadow group will keep as a group for the AM citizens and friends. So all builders must ask to join the LV group, and set their objects to that group. They will be later on evicted from group when sim is ready.

We need to do this so we can turn the auto-return on in AM.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: while you are working in the AM sim, work with the LV group ON, and make sure all objects you build are SET to that group. Do not SHARE objects with group so far, you will do that after signing the IP license contracts.

AM IP license:
Read this carefully:

We are aware of the current indefinition as regards the CDS definition as an entity. Therefore, the Guild has decided that:

- the Guild will prepare IP licensing contracts for the builders that are happy to sign a contract giving an IP license on their builds to the CDS as currently defined.
- The builders who are not comfy to give the CDS as currently defined an IP license should rather give us a hand in the following way: help us on the tasks that don't require that objects are created, such as terraforming, landscaping using SL vegetation, helping in organizing events, etc. These tasks are also extremely needed, and you can help us that way while keeping comfy about IP issues. You can also do the following: invest in creating objects for sale that meet the theme's sim, since then you can define your commercial IP terms as pleases you best, and still enrich the sim by creating content that relates to it.

I will post the IP license template as a reply to this post so that you can consult it.

AM Waterfall:
A workgroup was created specially for the waterfall building. This group has Diderot, Delia and Bjerkel in it. A vote was carried on:
"A waterfall workgroup shall be created, which is responsible for waterfall-related decisions and building, and which shall be self-organized, open to more volunteers and which shall report back to the Guild"

So everyone interested to help building the river, please contact any of the persons above.

AM infrastructure - Bridges, roads, D plots and Lodge

Roads will be assured by Sudane and myself, as it is very boring work.
Builders can apply to build a bridge on their own, please answer this thread back or IM me. Award for building bridges is that you can suggest the name for it :) (Mind that the list of street and structure names in the sim will need to be approved).

D plots are the special plots than cannot be edited by their owners... so it's a very important task here. They also need to be ready by the 6th Dec at most, since we need to deliver those plots to the owners.

Lodge is a building which has the following specs:

[12:12] Rose Springvale: oh, a gathering place at minimun to make rec things available
[12:12] Rose Springvale: like skis, rafts, etc
[12:12] Diderot Mirabeau: a room where we could change into sweaters and other skiing clothes
[12:12] Rose Springvale: if we had room and a big deck area, we caould have concerts out doors
[12:12] Diderot Mirabeau: a sauna?
[12:12] Rose Springvale: yes!!
[12:12] Rose Springvale: fireplace
[12:13] Diderot Mirabeau: yes a fireplace! cosy!

The place for it is on the commons, between river and BS2 plot, wherever it's handy.

Everyone offering to do infrastructure (except D plots, which fall on their own plots):
Mind that the commons have only 2500 prims, of which the waterfall will use around 700-800 and vegetation will possibly use a few hundreds more. Taking into consideration that we always need spare sprims (for an event, for special decorations, etc) - stuff should be not very primmy.

AM Promotion and Winter Holidays:
Brian is heading the promotion workgroup and can use some help, specially on press contacts and event planning. Rose can use some help on Winter Holidays stuff, namely an ice rink. So if you would like to help on that, please call them.

Guild plots:
current guild money isn't enough to buy and hold a dedicated sandbox in AM, adding to the two NFS School parcels. So we will use one of the School classrooms as sandboxes (discussion of sandbox rules to be held at a future meeting). Also, the School building isn't being used properly. We need plans and ideas on how to make its spaces meet our needs better :)

IP License agreement for reference

This is the template of the IP license agreement contract. Everyone wanting to give the CDS an IP license using this form please call me or Sudane.

License Agreement

Agreement, between _______ ("Builder") and The Confederation of Democratic Simulators (CDS), dated _________.

CDS is an organization created to occupy and develop certain sections of the Second Life grid in a cooperative fashion to be governed in a democratic manner. (Collectively referred to as the "Sims.")

Builder has been or will be involved in the design, construction and placement of buildings, natural features, furnishings and/or scripted objects for the Sims. (Collectively the "Property")

Builder and CDS wish to establish rights and responsibilities with regard to the Property and the Sims, and agree as follows:

1. Cooperation. The parties agree to work cooperatively in completing construction of the Sims.

2. Meetings. Team meetings consisting of Builders and the CDS, or designated representaives of the CDS, will be held to determine assigned responsibilities for the construction of the Sims. Builder agrees to attend such meetings whenever possible.

3. Consideration and Transfer of Rights. The New Guild shall provide such materials and instruction as may be necessary and helpful to Builder to complete tasks assigned. In exchange for instruction, the right to construct and display Property, and participate in the development of the Sims, Builder, upon completion and placement in the Sims, grants a non-exclusive license in all Property created by Builder for the Sims, to the CDS.

4. Property List and Components. To the extent possible, Builder shall provide a list of all Property transferred, including the name and source of non-copiable individual components (such as textures and animations) which are not transferable for archival or reconstructive use to the CDS The intent of this provision is to allow the CDS to reconstruct property that may be damaged or destroyed at any point in time. The Property and components shall be listed n Exhibit A, attached to and incorporated in this agreement by this reference.)

5. Non-exclusive License. To effectuate the transfer of the rights and property and provide for the maintenance of same, Builder shall provide, by sale for zero lindens, ($0L) to such Avatar specified by CDS specifically for such purpose, copies of all Property with full permissions designated. Builder's name shall be retained as creator on all Sim records and shall be available to anyone inquiring. The parties agree and understand that Builder is granting a non-exclusive license to the intellectual property rights in the Property, limited only as specified in this Agreement.

6. Names. CDS retains and reserve all trademark rights, if any exist, in the names of the Sims, including, but not limited to, Neufreistadt, NFS, Colonia Nova and CN, Alpine Meadow and AM, and the names of buildings or structures created as part of the Property. Builder releases all such name rights and does not share in those rights by virtue of this project.

7. Completion. Upon transfer of the Property , Builder agrees to make no modifications, deletions or movement to the Property, unless requested to do so by the CDS or it's representatives.

8. Payment. CDS agrees to a one time payment of ______ in full consideration of the licenses granted in this agreement.

9. Limitations on Use. CDS shall not copy, sell or distribute the Property other than as may be necessary or practical for use in the Sims, or such other use in the Second Life Grid, for historical, marketing or informative services related to the Sims, (such as Second Life Birthday Celebrations) without prior approval of Builder. CDS may move, modify, or delete Property from the Sims as it deems appropriate, or as shall be requested by purchasers of Sim parcels or other authorized parties.

10. Arbitration. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved by binding Arbitration. Should Arbitration become necessary, each party shall choose an Avatar in Second Life independent of them and their organizations. The chosen Avatars shall choose a third Avatar together. The three shall agree upon rules, process and timing of proceedings. All parties consent to the judgment of the Arbitration as final and binding.

11. Effective. This agreement shall be effective upon delivery for Property not placed in Sims on the date of delivery of the Agreement. For Property already located in the Sims, this Agreement shall be effective upon acceptance and return to the Chancellor. Failure to accept and return the agreement may, at the discretion of the CDS, result in removal of the Property from the Sims. This Agreement may be publicly disclosed by either party.

This is a *very* good idea, on the *right* moment.

I hope all Alpine Meadow builders will sign this agreement and will gladly sign it myself for the small bridge that I'm attempting to build.

Also I hope the RA and others will do their best to find a good mechanism for keeping back-ups of public infrastructure.

Thanks Sleazy! :)

I do want to prepare these contracts for all builders building... so, when building, take into acount that you'll have to provide a list of textures, etc.

In any case - if people don't feel comfortable signing such contracts, it is important to state that people can help in other ways. Helping setting trees, terraforming, doing content for sale that relates to the sim's theme, helping at events!

Regarding the IP license agreement above,

I've just sent a bill to the leader of the RA that aims to make the above agreement 'official' CDS-wise and that bill also includes a proposed mechanism to back-up and archive CDS infrastructure with a dedicated avatar, a 'Content Archivist'. And I've asked the LRA to put this on the RA agenda this Sunday.
