First you must have a photo that you want to use in your Inventory. Probably it will be in your Photo Album or Textures folders.

When you have a photo you want to use, open your Profile. Then click on the box in the Profile where the photo goes, and navigate in your Inventory to find the photo you want. Click on that picture, and a"select" button will come up. Choose this button, and the photo will be placed into your profile.

If you can log in to the Second Life Support system Knowledge Base, there is a nice video tutorial that describes how to complete the entire profile. To find it, log in to Support, and in the Search box in the upper-left type something like "Profile Video Tutorial". This video should be one of the first choices that comes up.

Thanks sonja but i meant "how do you upload your profile image IN HERE" i mean in the CDS forum above your name

Oh, I misunderstood.

To do that here, you must have a photo either on your computer or hosted on another website. It may not be any larger than 80 pixels x 80 pixels. Its file size may not be any more that 13kb - probably the best format to have it in for that is JPEG (.jpg).

Once you have your photo, log in to the website and go to: User Control Panel/Profile/Edit Avatar. There you have two possibilities:
1) If the photo is on your computer, look for "Upload from your machine" and click on the "Browse" button. Find the photo in your computer, and select it. To do that you can click on it (the file) and choose the "Open" button, or simply double-click on the file.
or
2) If the photo is hosted on a website, put the URL address in the box you prefer for that, either to have the file copied to this website or simply linked to this one from the other.

Then choose the "Submit" button, and it should be there.
