Is the RA Still in session?

Post by Bromo Ivory »

Looking over the transcripts, there was majority vote to close the session. Pat ended up running out of time, so he teleported out without closing the session.

So ... is the RA still in session? Does this mean they cannot add anything to the agenda until the previous session closes?

This may seem like a "technicality" but given the rambunctious nature of the last RA sessions and the current procedure reforms under consideration - this leaves the RA in an awkward state.

So ... if the RA's don't vote to close the session, and they all leave, is the RA still in session?

Bromo --

You are right, the RA did not formally adjourn. Rather, we continued the hearing without adjourment. That means (I think) that we are still in session -- but that no debate or formal discussion can happen until we reconvene. It also means that the agenda remains in place (there is no new agenda at the next meeting). As a side effect of this, no new matters can be added to the agenda this week. However, I expect that we will be able to finish last week's agenda at our next meeting and move on to new business the following week.

Let's keep things simple enough to be fair, substantive enough to be effective, and insightful enough to be good.
