Should Desmond be limited to 100 posts on this forum?

Wheee!!! Oh my look what I have discovered!

A POLL OPTION!

In other words - a way to test Democracy myself!!!!! With all of the fine citizens of the CDS!

Yes, over the next two weeks, the CDS will be able to VOTE, directly and democratically, on an issue!

Have no fear, win lose or draw I shall honour the outcome. Let the blustering, campaigning, argumentation and so forth begin!

I figure this should be at *least* as entertaining and thought-provoking as the merits of Saint-Lag vote methodology versus Boredom counts, or the rightful powers and electoral processes of various public servant acronyms... ah, I mean to say, positions.

...your favourite aristocratic menace,

Des

Boredom counts! LOL. With gems like that, I'm voting for no term limits for Des.

Thank the trickster gods for giving us avies like Desmond, maybe living under a well intentioned despot would be better after all, than a in democracy of quibbling do-nothing peers, but only IF the despot was really funny

Most despots are funny, I think; it's just, they aren't willing to see themselves that way.

An enlightened despotism is probably the best form of government, save the lack of sufficiently enlightened despots.

The nice thing about the Internet in general and SL in particular; if the despot isn't very enlightened, it's easy to move.

enlighted despot? Name one! or are we dealing with two meaningful words that cannot form an intelligible utterance when used together?

Do not know any enlighted despotism in last century's RL history.
Dictators, tyrants, despots are never funny.
Democracy might be not perfect, but it's the lesser evil.

Let's get stoned and make him into steak?

Hmmm ...

Let's keep things simple enough to be fair, substantive enough to be effective, and insightful enough to be good.

Mmmmm steak! Though I tend to prefer fish, the less cooked, the better...

Well you guys are being all silly. I'm not being obnoxious enough I guess!

Forgive me though, I'm tired. Just opened region #36, a Duchy... less than 24 hours after region 35 opened. It's exhausting, giving out estate powers and titles to the wealthy, landed merchant-barons. Oooh so non-democratic, too!

Hey, somebody's gotta be the bad guy, right? Least I can do is have some style!

Desmond --

How exactly can we make you into fish? It has to be steak.

Let's see....how close is Caledon in-world to CDS? At a rate of expansion where q=27.43 and ......well, maybe Jon could figure out for us how long it's going to take Desmond to take over CDS. Oh, wait!!! Now we have the Private Developer Bill! Des, maybe when you get within our sphere of influence you can apply to have your 3,423rd region absorbed into CDS. Hmmm...might be less exhausting for you to just take us over....

One might argue, say, in America's history several of our presidents have come close. Many disregarded the law, some for good, some for ill, yet they're still regarded as 'heroes'.
