Please pay your tier!

Folks,

Seventeen (17) citizens, a new high, have not paid their tier this month by the deadline, which was May 23. And almost all of you are *NOT* new people, so there really is no excuse.

People, I do not have the time to go after everyone individually. It is extremely time consuming to correspond with each non-payer, calculate your tier, and record manually the fact of your payment. The population of the CDS is big and getting bigger... I simply don't have time to pursue you. If you want to be a citizen of the CDS, our law requires that you pay your tier each month. Please do so!

We are rather generous with the payment process. You have from the 28th of the prior month until the 23rd of the current month in which to pay. You receive *eight* reminders!!, four by IM and four by email. People, if this is not a sufficient reminder to pay your tier, then I'm afarid that nothing is going to jog your lethargy, and I would question whether you really intend to participate in our community.

Ahh, that is what i have been looking for...
Sudane, as one of those I am terribly sorry and beg your pardon. I slipped into a bipolar type of schizoaffective disorder and lost - well, kind of everything? /me shrugs.
I remember sitting in a wood at night, crying because I could no longer remember my SL-PW, lol. Lived in a cellar, grabbed a job, went manic, suicidal, decided to see a doctor then, 6 months of sanatory, 1 year of rehabilitation. Those guys find a pathology in anything, you know, except themselves. I got a paper that proves 50% disability. Stopped medication this summer. Remembered my password 2 months ago.
Imagine! I would no longer care about SL if there were no CDS. Ok, I would call that virtuality-stuff interesting circumstances. I have quitted escapism. I am not self-pity. Pity is like shame: to be avoided. I want to confess in dignity. (and in poor english, as usual)
I always percieved you as a person with the head in the clouds and feet on the ground. This is not my format. I have to stick to the latter. Can I ever be trusted again? This is not a drama. There is no emergency. I guess some day I better should pay my tier in advance. May I come home?

I would like to see an option for citizens to pay more in advance to avoid this kind of problem. There are many life-issues that could keep a citizen from logging into SL month - or even for multiple months at a time. If we could choose to pay monthly, every six months, or even yearly, many of these problems could be anticipated and avoided by pre-payment (and other, unpredictable problems could be fortuitously avoided if the citizen did prepay).

The option you speak of is already a work in progress. We've given a Hippo a test run in Locus Amoenus and now that we've worked out the bugs we will be incorporating it estate-wide. Not sure if you noticed but the original posting on this thread is 2008. Currently all of our citizens are up to date on their tier to the best of my knowledge.

The RA has voted to implement the Hippo System as speedily as practicable (meeting on 28th August 2011). It is not anymore a test.
