Summary of RA actions 4 October 2009

1. Next meeting set for 11 October 2009 at 0900 as previously calendared. Cindy Ecksol will be absent and requests 7 day vote. Soro Dagastino will chair the meeting. RA members should use Doodle poll to indicate whether they will be in attendance. Please check your e-mail for further instructions.

2. Status of in-world status board: Rudeen has the scripts and objects necessary. Carolyn to confer with Rose regarding placement.

3. Election Date Revision Act was approved 8 in favor, none opposed, no abstentions as amended:
Whereas there seems to be general agreement that the current election schedule forces campaigning into times of the year when most citizens are more distracted by their real lives than usual, we propose the following:

Amend Article I, Section 2 of the CDS Constitution to read:

"New RAs shall take office on 1 June and 1 December."

This amendment will take place take effect after the conclusion of the current term.

It was noted that one side-effect of this Act will be to shorten the next RA term by one month.

Cindy Ecksol will take responsibility for posting election-related dates for the upcoming term and the following term on the CDS calendar and in the forum.

4. RA established the Commerce Zoning Commission with StuiChicanne Darkstone as chair. RA has asked the commission to put together recommendations regarding commercial zoning in NFS. Stui will establish a schedule and report back to RA next meeting regarding the commission's expected completion date.

5. RA members were asked to review the overview and terms of the new Community Partnership Program announced this week by Linden Labs. Program information is available at . CDS will have to propose a particular collaboration with LL in order to make this interesting and productive for both LL and CDS. The Chancellor was asked to begin thinking about what we might want to propose as a partnership program with LL.

6. Chancellor's budget presentation was interrupted by technological gremlins and the conclusion (and question session) postponed until next meeting. RA members should review Jamie's posting at as background

7. The Chancellor announced the appointment of Rose Springvale as Vice Chancellor for the duration of this term. He noted that this is an appointed position not subject to RA approval and that it may or may not be continued under future Chancellors.
