Executive report for October

Post by Jamie Palisades »

1. Please note the proposal discussed at the last RA meeting for changing the price of CDS-repossessed land to zero for 3 months:
http://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php? ... t=0#p13927.
(Arria asked if the proposal covers all CDS-owned non-commercial land. Yes. The concept of this proposal is that we can afford to, and should, walk away from the one-time purchase price profit on our land, in order to be more fully rented, because vacancies are the more significant threat to our budget.)

2. Please note the announcements regarding the ongoing changes to our methods for selling CDS-repossessed land,
including the description of the "notice and random drawing" method we are using now, and proposals for additional changes:
http://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php? ... =15#p13928

3. For convenience, a list of the open parcels as of October 20 was posted here:
http://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php? ... 583#p13846
Please note that there have been *some* sales since then, under the "notice and random drawing" method.

4. As reported else where, after the RA makes its decision about land pricing today, we will set all remaining land open for sale, either under the method above or as special commercial land under the Commercial Land Bid rules.

5. Regional cultural programming. Please see my report here:
http://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php? ... 930#p13930

6. Linden Community Partnership program:
I have applied on behalf of CDS. However, per our chat at the last RA meeting, we did not specify any particular issues regarding combinations or adjoined land with other estates. I think we'll still need to discuss this, as there does not seem to be much else to that program at present.

7. Other 2009 plans
FYI, I expect three other activities to occupy the rest of the current term.
a. Exploration of another sim purchase, but only if the land market improves so as to justify it.
b. Repeal of the CDS "groups" act that gives citizenship to non-landowners, together with some kind of appropriate transition.
c. The elections for the next RA, which will be starting shortly.
