Elsewhere (http://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=2694) I suggested that the next two PLACES for expansion may be (1) to the East of Neufreistadt, and (2) into OpenSim.
The re-awakening CDS Guild is hosting some discussions about what could be done with the Schloss (like, a two-sim ballroom for higher hosting numbers) and more of the popular, always-sold out fachwerken.
Expansion into OpenSim is a bit more complex, but my advice is that it's well worth a look, as a natural expansion of the architecture of SL.
We may also gain space, or new creative activity, by smarter use of some of our existing space. The following is all merely personal opinion.
The next term's government should more strictly enforce rules against land concentration (one citizen owning more lots than the covenants allow), so long as our oocupancy rate continues to go up. I have been deliberately lax about this, during the land recession, as discussed with the RA. No need, though, when demand is high. Not having a small number of major landowners (who can cause a crash by leaving) is a strength of CDS.
We are likely to see some use changes or improvements in two of the non-profit "void" Al-Andalus sims. Personally, I believe that the popular "neighborhood houses" in the two main AA sims are -- like the Alpine fachwerken -- a high demand item, and that CDS should work on some re-mapping or re-building to increase the number available.
A CDS government before my term authorized the "To Limani" seaside project in the northwest corner of Locus Amoenus, as sort of a special-exception experiment outside of our usual rules (different theme, rental property, etc.). Now that it's run its course, a new creative use or re-configuration of the property probably is desirable. I'd either turn it into seaside residential, or put a MoCA branch in the corner.
We have some, but not a complete set of, ski runs in Alpine Meadow. The builders' decisions to remove them from the originally-approved plans was, I think, a mistake. A few lots in AM could be moved or tweaked, to finish that job, and should be.
The southeast corner of Colonia Nova sim never quite seems to sell out. Some of that probably is due to the erratic pricing of CN, which should be fixed by a general per-prim re-pricing in CDS (as I write elsewhere). Also, though, though, a few pathway / amenity fixes and slight lot line changes probably would make that a more attractive neighborhood.
