Notice regarding use of public land: religious facilities

Post by Jamie Palisades »

Several citizens contacted me about the rules and guidelines for use of public-owned spaces like the Neufreistadt Kirche and Al-Andalus Mosque.

The facilities owned by the government are freely usable by citizens. Most of them are high-prim buildings, so unfortunately, it usually will not be possible to store privately-owned objects in them. I have returned several, when the estate managers or sim cleanup staff ask me to do so. No single private group can be given complete control of any of our publicly-owned facilities, unless the CDS Representative Assembly chooses to allocate a building to an "NGO" (as was done with our MoCA Museum).
However, citizens are welcome to conduct meetings or services in our facilities, subject generally to our land use rules and our prim and script limits. CDS citizens enjoy freedom of religious practice under our laws, so the CDS government should and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate non-exclusive uses of our facilitaties.

If there are scheduled meetings, special needs, or a possible conflict of uses, event leaders should feel free to contact the CDS Chancellor or staff about questions, time reservations or any coordination issues.

Regards JP
