I'd like to take this time to introduce myself to all of my fellow citizens of the CDS. My name is Trebor Warcliffe and I am happy to be one of the newest citizens of the CDS. I've been a member of SL for almost a month and I spent over two weeks exploring the CDS in world and in the forums. I found the CDS doing a search for Alpine Mountain Lands and discovered the sim Alpine Meadow. Kudos to all the builders and developers of Alpine Meadow and the other sims for that matter. So after discovering Alpine Meadow I explored the world around it and discovered the concept of the CDS. Every citizen I've met in world has been quite friendly and helpful. Trying not to get to personal about my RL. Due to the downturn in the economy I decided to go back to school after 20 years. I've earned my AA in accounting at the end of last year and am pursuing my BA. I've been in and out of the family business, an independent retail store, since I was young. My last stint was from 2001 to 2008. I am currently in the banking industry but not at an actual bank.
Most of my RL time is spent at work and doing my school work. I look forward to participating in the CDS society. While exploring the forums I've discovered some pretty cool ideas that I don't know if they've come to fruitation. Having to be at work in less than 2 hours I don't have the time currently to go into great detail. I hope to bring a positive, can do attitude to the table. I enjoy interacting with others and contributing to the discussion. I'll give you a quick view of my general attitude towards things. The company I work for has close to 200 branches. There is a manager at one branch who is very difficult to work with. I was informed by my district manager that I was being transferred to this branch. Listening to all the nightmare stories from my coworkers at my than current branch I made the decision to go into the branch with an open mind and not prejudge the manager. My very first day my general impression of the manager was that he/she was totally stressed out and that seemed to be the reason why he/she was so difficult to work with. So from that day forward I took the attitude of "what can I do in my position to make his/her life at work less stressful?" I approached this challenge with a positive, can-do attitude, and a good dose of humor. Over time the manager did become more tolerable to work with and even commented on the way I approached different situations.
I've noticed there are some meetings over the next few days. I have one more final to take (Intermediate Accounting III) and a quick business plan for the internet paper to write. I hope to attend at least one or two of the meetings, probably on Friday and Sunday. For the one's I can't attend I look forward to reading the transcripts in the forums. Thank you to all I've met in world so far I look forward to meeting and interacting with you all.
