Announcement of Decision to Separate AA from CDS

Post by mkhandr »

The Al Andalus community met in two separate meetings on July 21, 2010. Approximately 30 unique individuals attended the meetings, from both AA and CDS. The majority wanted to separate the sims, some strongly and some with some regret. A few individuals want to stay in the merger.

Virtual Democracy Inc, owner of the Al Andalus Estates, hereby notifies the government of the Confederation of Democratic Sims that it is electing to separate its territories from the CDS. AA will work with CDS to assure a smooth transition and proper accounting.

Transcripts of the meetings will be distributed on the Al Andalus Group Notices.

Where ever you go, there you are.
Your luggage is another story.

Thank you Micael.

I've locked the tier boxes in Al Andalus pending the final accounting and request the CDS executive team to take whatever information they need for this in the next few days. We will do the same in Al Andalus and hope to come to mutual agreement regarding remaining financial issues between the projects. While CDS was given an extra week of credit when the transfer was made, I think given the climate in the respective projects, it only makes sense to make the cut off effective July 22, and account on a per diem basis.

Please also take whatever prims you have in Al Andalus (land scanners, etc) at your earliest convenience.

If there are CDS citizens who wish to be part of the AA group and are not, please let us know and we will add you. Your opinions and participation will always be welcome in Al Andalus, but cross posting in the groups as a matter of course will no longer occur. Likewise, Al Andalus citizens who wish to remain CDS friends should ask for an invitation to the CDS group.

Many people are grieving the end of this merger, and I respectfully request that the negativity that has pervaded the CDS forums about the merger for the past several months, please cease.

I had doubts about placing this link here, but then I thought that doing so would help to boost this announcement up in the forum listings. It's already dropped down to where it's hard to find, and some people may have missed it.

My blog post about the demerger is here:

I'd suggest that reactions (if any) be posted as comments on the blog, rather than to this forum thread.
