GMP Work-group

Hello all,

This thread will be reserved to the work-group that will dedicate to completing the General Master Plan of the CDS. Work on this has been carried already for some time now, but we need to re-gather and re-analyse the work done so far, and complete the process. GMP is essential for the expansion of the CDS, so this is a very important project.

As defined on the last NG meeting, this work-group will be lead by me directly. I am calling all interested to help on this matter to join this WG by answering this thread, please.
The launching of the WG will take place at the next Board meeting, on 10th Aug 2010, by 2PM SLT, at the School in NFS.

There was an expansion plan, both at close range and an overall map for nearby sims (8 x 8 or 10 x 10), in place before the AA relocation. It was a source of possible guidance for things like general terrain, (e.g., hillsto the west of NFS, possible continuation of the valley or sea space to the east of AM, a cap to the east side of the NFS hill, etc.)
I think the RA of the time approved them, as well.
Are these to be used, or re-assessed, or scrapped?

Jamie, Moon reviewed those plans with the group at our last meeting. It seems that some of the plans have to be put on hold or revised regarding terrain, because of being unsure about the AA sims. It was my understanding from the meeting that we are tentatively planning for the east-NFS sim.

As far as I know, there is no WG for NFS East sim and the place on the GMP where the new sim will be set has not been yet decided. Who is planning this meeting ? Is it public ?

Well Arria, you were at the same meeting I was at, so how would you answer Jamie's question?

I have understood different things in this meeting. We did not decide that the next sim is NFS East. We have to work on the GMP first. We were adviced to expand in the lower areas of CDS, because it is easier to do. I think that currently the place where we expand is still open.

That is why I said "tentatively planning" as it was a discussion not a decision, and mostly around the need for a new schloss. We talked about making provision for either spanning 2 sims (thus the reference to NFS east), or utilizing the already designated schloss area.

As for working on the GMP, well, that is what this group is for.
