Congratulations Tor.

I wish you and the incoming RA members a peaceful and productive term of office.

People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote -- a very different thing.

It is an honor to be elected the Chancellor of CDS and even a greater honor to be the first Chancellor directly elected by the people. In a true demonstration of democracy our community came forth and participated. This is essential in order to keep our Confederation a robust Democracy.

First I would like to thank Arria for her dedication to CDS and her willingness to serve. She was an admirable opponent in this election. I am better for her candidacy. I wish her the best in her future endeavors here in CDS and elsewhere. I look forward to her advice and assistance in the coming months.

Thanks to all who supported me. I am especially thankful for all the work some of you have done in getting the word out, placing signs and of course, your words of encouragement.

Much work remains to be done. We must move forward to keep our Confederation in step with the times in Second Life, to reform where necessary, to become competitive with other sims, to put CDS in the forefront of estates and to give our citizens a beautiful well run sim that can be a back drop for their fun and creativity.
To that end we must all pull together, realize that we all have CDS at heart and focus on what unites us--a conviction that a citizen owned and democratically governed sim can flourish in Second Life.
