10 December 2011 RA Actions

The 16th RA met on 10 December 2011 in the Praetorium, Colonia Nova.

Actions:

  • 1. The RA approved the budget proposed by Chancellor Trebor Warcliffe.
    Ayes - Anna, Pat, Rosie, Shep. Beathan gets to vote after the meeting within 7 days.

    2. The RA voted to establish a 'Citizenship Transparency Commission'
    Ayes - Anna, Pat, Rosie, Shep. Beathan has a 7 day vote.

    3. The RA voted Patroklus Murakami to chair the Citizenship Commission
    Ayes - Anna, Rosie, Shep. Abstain - Pat. Beathan has a 7 day vote.

    4. The RA voted to refer Gwyn's proposals on Citizenship to the Commission
    Ayes - Anna, Pat, Rosie, Shep. Beathan has a 7 day vote.

    5. The RA voted to set up a commission to study what type of new sim the citizenship would like to see and to create models that can be looked at before proceeding and that the commission work with the New Guild on its findings.
    Ayes - Anna, Pat, Rosie, Shep. Beathan has a 7 day vote.

    6. The RA voted Rosie Gray to chair the new sim commission
    Ayes - Anna, Pat, Rosie. Nays - Shep. Beathan has a 7 day vote.

I vote aye on items 1-3 and 5 and 6. I vote nay on item 4 because I think that at least one, probably two, of Gwynn's proposals are sufficiently framed and defined for immediate RA action without the delay of the commission process. However, I acknowledge that this is a symbolic "nay." That said, I believe that the RA can and should take up Gwynn's proposal on its own without waiting for the Commission report, or after receiving preliminary reports (as the Commission should be able to come to some early assessment of Gwyn'n's proposals given how fleshed out they are already).
