Official Insula Papers for Review

Post by Trebor Warcliffe »

The link above is to the contest/proposal approved by the 15th RA for the insula concept in Locus Amoenus. I’ve saved the file as an Office 97-2003 compatible file so readers with older Office programs can access it also. This is what I’d like to make as the official paperwork for the contest so please review it and provide me with some feedback. My plans are to post this on the forums as well as make contact to various building groups or individual builders to give them the official paperwork and hopefully get a strong response.

Thank you,
Trebor Warcliffe

A couple questions/clarifications:

1. I went and measured between the markers and came up with a dimension of 52x56 meters (not 56x60 as described). Are the markers in the right places or do the listed dimensions needs to be modified, please?

2. Subdividing parcels has to be done in 4meter increments, so the proposal to make a building 23x11 (or other odd shape not divisible by 4) would only be feasible if these are going to be managed by rental boxes as opposed to turning the land parcel over to the residents as landowners. Are these going to be rentals? or subdivided as parcels to be held by the landowners?

Thank you.

Right after Bags made this post we happened to meet in-world. My plot measurements were done by calculation while Bags’ measurements were physically done in world. Bags took her time to teach me how she performed the measurements so I will have and be able to use this knowledge in the future. Her post on subdividing parcels having to be done in 4 meter increments was also very educational. I don’t believe we want the insula’s to be managed by rental boxes. To the best of my knowledge our plans still involve turning the land parcel over to the residents as landowners. So before this proposal becomes an official post I will correct what Bell’s has pointed out. Bell’s thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with me.

I think you meant to be thanking Bags, rather than Bells here Trebor. ;-)

I'm embarrased now :( while both these fine ladies have helped and advised me on different matters in this instance yes I meant Bags. Thank you Rosie for bringing this to my attention I'm sure everyone realizes it as an innocent mistake.
