I feel guilty that it’s taken me this long to post this thank you note but RL has been quite busy this week. This thank you note is for the Mardi Gras concert the CDS hosted in New Toulouse on Saturday, February 18th. Rose Springvale, the host of Mardi Gras extended an invitation to the CDS to partake in the festivities. As a token of our appreciation I brought in AMFORTE Clarity, a very popular (1700+ members in her group) SL musician to perform from 3 to 4pm SLT.
I’d like to thank Anna Toussaint’s gift of a copy of the Minerva Itch float from last year’s Mardi Gras. Anna also helped me make the necessary modifications so we could use it this year in the parade. I’d like to thank both Edward Ballinger and Satir Decuir for helping me modify the stage for the concert.
A VERY BIG THANK YOU goes out to Pip Torok for his gift to the CDS of an Intan Solo Dance System, Intan Solo Dance Ball loaded with dances and an Intan Dance Anywhere set-up. Along the same lines I also have to thank Gabrielle Riel for the use of her Couples Dance Ball because the one purchased for the CDS didn’t arrive in time. If I have missed anyone in my thank you list I truly apologize.
A thank you goes out to Rose Springvale who allowed the CDS use of Dutchess Square for our concert and the setting of the stream. This came in very helpful considering the turn-out would have been quite uncomfortable in the CDS Embassy in New Toulouse.
On a less cheerful note I find it rather disheartening that in a community of 70+ citizens I had to go outside our group and hire for L$ 1,000 a professional greeter/hostess. I had placed an in-world notice to the CDS Group with a call out for 2 or 3 volunteers to act as a greeter/hostess and I received no response.
Thankfully Arabelle Gravois did a wonderful job hosting and greeting. I made up a thank you note card for her to give to each of the guests that arrived giving a brief background on both New Toulouse and the CDS along with a LM for the CDS and a link to our website. There were close to 50 people in attendance at this concert and AMFORTE put on a wonderful concert for all.
