Movies and the popular media love to show images of clean-headed monks sitting hours on the same spot, silently, wearing their simple but impeccable clothing. We may admire or even envy them for that — but realize it's not for us, with our daily, busy routine. So we discard meditation as being merely something New Age-esque or "Eastern" with little bearing with our Western culture and civilization, and only fit for people who have nothing else to do. In reality, teachers over the past 2,600 years have developed thousands of different techniques to bring the benefits of meditation to pretty much anyone, no matter how "busy" one is.
In this series of meditation sessions, we will learn what meditation is *really* about, what it's good for, and how anyone, even on a 16-hour work day, can train the mind in exactly the same way, and gather the same kind of benefits, without the need of shaving one's head and living in isolation.
Join us to learn some simple techniques and practice a bit together!
