Dear Friends and Citizens,
In another thread, Tanoujin makes mention of an alt she created, RemisFargo which Nooligan and I have been invited to use towards turning Locus Amoenus into a "Destination" with a capital "D". Under RemisFargo's name, Nooligan has been working on the Hobo Camp (which I'll let him tell you about) and I have been creating the Bibliotheca Historia. The Bibliotheca Historia was inspired by a thread Sudane started last year to begin collecting a history of CDS. I am seeking permissions to put the histories found into notecards and making them available in bookshelves in the Bibliotheca. The building is more than just a library, it is also a social space with places to sit and drink coffee, a tabletop derby game for up to 4 players, and out on the patio overlooking the Monastery Lake, there are a couple chessboards and a Go board game which anyone can play.
In another effort, I had an inspiration this morning to begin hosting chariot races on the roads of Locus Amoenus and Colonia Nova. I had originally intended to keep them on a single sim but the game I acquired needs the start and finish line to be in the same place, and the only way to make a complete circuit following the roads was by using both sims. My goal is to host 2 race sessions a week. If you have events or other things happening that you want me to schedule around so they don't disrupt you, please please please let me know (for example, I know there are belly dancing classes down by the beach and I want to be sure I am not running the races at the same time as those classes) I'll be talking more about that later.
For now, if you want to participate, I invite you to start practicing with the two chariots I have left down on the beach in Locus Amoenus. The horses are copiable, take a copy and WEAR them. Then click on one of the chariots (not the poseball but the chariot itself) and select DRIVE...and away you go ! After you are done with your practice, please return the chariots to the beach where you found them. The horses are yours to keep or delete out of your inventory (the horses are fairly high prim so I don't recommend putting them on your land, but you are welcome to do so if you have the prims to spare).
Here is a cut and paste from the notecard of the instructions for the chariots:
...Right click on the main body (not the poseball) and choose "Drive", to drive the chariot.
The poseball is available for one aditional passenger that can fight (CCS, DCS, GM, GLM) backwards.
The chariots has three different speeds that the driver can choose by pressing pageup and pagedown.
Also the wheels are equiped with sensors, and when ever they are hit with and obstacle, or attacked with a bow or spear, they take damage (the driver is being informed about that).
After a certain amount of hitting, the wheel breaks and the chariot stops functioning.A pair of animated horses also are given with the set. The horses must be attached on the driver's pelvis for the full effect.
