The CDS political graph

Post by Claude Desmoulins »

Some time ago Aimee Weber produced a graph of the SL grid wide political spectrum. I'll link if I can ever find the SLOG entry. It occurs to me that CDS has begun to develop a similar pair of dichotomies.

On one axis put complexity and the other direct citizen involvement.

I'd put both current factions high on the complexity scale. At the low end I would put Rudy, Ranma, Aliasi , Rubaiyat and others who argue for simpler government. Apologies to anyone I left out.

The citizen involvement issue is more complex. The DPU has proposed direct elections of the executive branch and devolution of authority to local subunits. The CSDF seems to prefer a more centralized approach with appointment rather than election. On the other hand, the CSDF proposed planning festival is a big package of direct democracy.

I'll talk about these two continua in other threads.
