Rogue's Gallery

Post by Sudane Erato »

Work on the Schloss is moving along. I won't say that it's near completion, but its going well, and both Rosie and I feel that we'll make the deadline of the new inauguration.

We thought that in the hallway from the throne room up to the ballroom, we would display pictures of CDS citizens who contributed in some special way to the community. One set of pictures might be founders, those from before the move to our own sim. Another might be of the members of the RAs and the Leaders of the RAs. Another might be pictures of the Chancellors and/or pictures of the members and Deans of the SC. Lots of ideas.

I've put up some panels with pictures of the founders from the days in Anzere. You can see who each is by touching the pictures. Our idea is to collect pictures and assemble them into a wall texture, along with names, so the final form would not be as displayed there now. But I wanted to give some idea of how "portraits" would look in that hallway.

Please offer your ideas. There are so many people who have contributed to the CDS, and it would be nice to find a system to display their names, and pictures, to the public. Any and all ideas of how to do this will be gratefully heard.

What a marvellous idea, Sudane! 8)

And explicitly calling it the Rogues Gallery would certainly put us in our place, and keep us there.

I just hope our entertainers will figure in it as well. We all need a laugh from time to time!

A portrait gallery representing the history of the CDS - from the start to "modern times" - stands for continuity, unity and identity. A brilliant idea  !

Sudane has found images, some from profiles, others she had in inventory, of the old 'founders'; but we are still looking for one of Catfart Grayson (god I just love that name!) :D Would any of you have one of him/her? If you do, would you please either give it to me inworld, or email to [email protected] so that I can include it in the rogues gallery montage?

If there's someone of the old founders that should be included other than those represented on the wall already, plus Catfart, would you please let either Sudane or I know so that they can be included - or if you have a better portrait of any of them please also pass those on. This is a little piece of history that I am so happy to include in the new Schloss.

After this Rogues' Gallery is done, I want to do something similar for all of the past Chancellor's and the past RA's and SC's, so if anyone has portraits of those folks - or even better a handy list of their names - I would greatly appreciate them as well.

Many thanks!

Just to add a bit to Rosie's request...

The images on the wall now are people who were involved with "Neualtenberg" (now the CDS) when it was in Anzere, before we got our own sim. There now are:

Ulrika
Kendra
Pendari Lorentz
Gwyn
Talen Morgan
Satchmo Prototype
Urusula Zapata
and me

Talen's image is from his profile. It's not a portrait, so if anyone has any picture of him, that would be great.
As Rosie mentioned, Catfart's account is closed. So any picture of him would be great.
Gwyn, if you have a picture from that era that you're willing to show :), that would be great.

The membership in Neualtenberg before the move, when we were forming the system of government, was I think in the 50's, but almost all were hardly active (Ulrika was a great recruiter). The cutoff here is totally arbitrary, as after the move there soon joined many new and active people, MANY who are still with us (that's 2005!!)!!. The reason for mentioning this is to ask if anyone can think of someone I've forgotten, who was active before the move. I have a blurry suspicion that I've forgotten some folks. And, of course, portraits would be nice too.

As Rosie mentioned, we'd like to perhaps display other groups of folks who've played prominent roles, like Chancellors and RA members and SC members. I think we should include their dates of arrival, if possible.

I think this is a superb idea. We have such a rich history in CDS that we really ought to celebrate it.

Am happy there will be no portraits of me on the wall. Compared to these pioneers am just another nOOb!

The first panel of '2004 activists' is done - just wondering if anyone would know where there is a list of the first Chancellors, RA's, SC's?
