The Candidates for Chancellor and the 19th RA

Post by Callipygian »

No challenges were received to the Census to establish the right to run for office, nor to the Citizen List to establish the right to vote, therefore both lists are declared as official and the Citizen List will be sent to Jon Seattle for poll creation.

Five candidates have declared for five seats on the 19th RA, therefore no voting will be required and the 19th RA will consist of:

Tanoujin Milestone, Ranma Tardis, Nolligan Nino, Shep Titian, and Moonrise Azalee

There are three declared candidates for Chancellor:

Tor Karlsvalt, Bagheera Kristan and anti Wirefly.

Relevant dates are as follows:
Campaign officially starts: May 4
Polls open : 12 noon SLT May 11
Polls close: 12 noon SLT May 18

Campaigning may now begin. Candidates, please ensure that you follow the campaign rules as given in the Constitution (since this still refers to factions that are no longer relevant, I interpret the wording to currently mean 'only 2 e-mails per candidate):

Section 4 – Campaigning
Campaigning for election in CDS can be done in-world only by means of unscripted items or simple notecard givers that are placed in traditional, predetermined central CDS locations, or by discourse between two avatars directly. No spamming of any kind is allowed, including the dropping of items on avatars without permission, sending messages by Second Life group IM (other than one’s own faction group), or by shouting messages to large groups. Only two emails are allowed in a given election by any faction or representative of a faction.

Thank you to all who have declared as candidates for your willingness to serve.

People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote -- a very different thing.
