Intriguing: thank you for finding and posting that. I have just written to correct them on their error about there being no lawyers in SecondLife... ;-)

While you're at it Ash...

You might want to head over to Ed Castronova's recent blog entry on chains of contracts in VWs. He argues for common law within VWs. Surely this is something you'd want to comment on. :)

The BBC

After writing to the BBC yesterday about our project here, I have been asked to give an interview for the next edition of that same radio programme, "Law in Action", which is broadcast next Tuesday.

Are you sure the title isn't "Law Inaction"? :D

Any chance it will be available for download or streaming?

Yes, it will be - the BBC make all of their radio programmes available this way.

It starts at about 18:18 if you want to jump ahead to the interview.

Well done explanation, Ashcroft. I'm glad you pursued this.

Great job, Ashcroft. And you dealt splendidly with some tough questions, like "is this really law, or just the rules of a club", and "why do you need such a complex legal system ".
