PCA: Terms of Office

Post by Claude Desmoulins »

I propose that the provisions of the Election Scheduling Act become part of the constitution.

-----------------------

Explanation:

It is, IMO, not enough to state that we have elections. The question of when elections occur is also of the utmost importance. I haven't done much research ,but I cannot offhand think of any RL entities that don't specify at least an election scheduling mechanism in their base documents.

I agree. Indeed, the election scheduling provisions ought be an [i:97yc5ed1]entrenched[/i:97yc5ed1] part of the constitution, as with the current entrenchment proposal.

(Incidentally, where exactly in the constitution did you propose inserting this amendment? It is always helpful, for the clarity of the written document, to have that set out precisely by the bills.)

Sorry. The wiki's down at the moment. Based on the out of date constitution copy on the main site, it would be a change to Article V, Section 1.

I agree that it would be fine to do this.
