If I am posting this in the wrong place, my apologies. As some of you may know, I own one of the CN skybox plots. Because these have the most open covenant in the sim, (not finalized I believe), I've chosen to develop it in a period, but non-Roman style; specifically, Egyptian. In due course, I hope to open my garden to my friends and neighbours. However, while I can plant trees, my building skills and resources are not up to constructing the waterfall and pool that I think would look well on my plot. I do not wish to inflict a sub-standard build on the sim, so this is an appeal for skilled builders in CDS to assist and teach me. I am particularly concerned that the rocks I use match the sim terrain, and that the water textures are of a high standard - like those in our Thermae. Anyone who can assist, please respond or contact me.

Carolyn --
Mizou has built several great buildings in CN on commission. Jon Seattle has also done great work, as have others.
Antonius came in as a new, apprentice (or journeyman) builder and built the baths (which are great). I think that he may be underemployed (unless he is busy with RL exams) atm.
Also Diderot is involved in an outfit called the "Waterfall Society" -- his showcase is in CN -- doubling as Simplicity Party headquarters. He has some good displays and some better ideas if you meet him in person.

[quote="Aliasi Stonebender":yim8uy6l]For water, I suggest looking into Margot Abattoir's Academy of Water Design. She's not a CDS citizen, but she does teach classes in SL on fountain and waterfall design, and the Academy has many good example s to examine on premises.[/quote:yim8uy6l]
Thank you Aliasi. Margot has already been recommended to me by Leon Ash. Alas, she is rather expensive, even by my spendthrift standards, but it seems she offers group rates. If we could assemble a CDS group of inexperienced builders to split the cost, it might be worthwhile to book a few hours of her time. However, I think our resident builders are equal to the task.
Oh, by the way Aliasi, I've adopted your quote as a signature because I like it. No insult is intended.

I trust you got my IM reply to this query? As I hinted at I manage a group called the Waterfall Society, which organises some of the best waterfall designers in SL including Margot. The group also holds a number of aspiring designers, who would be very interested I'm sure to work with your project at reasonable rates to get experience and a reference.
As mentioned in the IM I am available for a discussion of the needs anytime I'm in world. Do feel free to IM me to arrange a meeting if you still consider it relevant.
