Here's the thread for budget discussion.
Pat proposes putting Lindens away to fund expansion. He mentions that the budget should reflect our priorities, and expansion certainly is one.
What I wonder is, "Will it really make a financial difference?" A new sim development will cost around $L500K. At the rate we would be saving ,even if we took all the discretionary and put it toward expansion savings, we'd have to wait three years before we'd have the cash on hand. The borrow all of it model worked well with CN. Unless we foresee a problem filling the new sim quickly, what do we really get for not spending some of that discretionary money on projects with more immediate benefit? Maybe that financial insurance is enough of a benefit, but if so, why didn't we do it that way last time?
