[2022/01/22 10:07] Almut Brunswick: Honorable Chancellor, dear member of the SC and people of the CDS, dear fellow RA members, hereby I welcome you all and call this fourth RA meeting of the 36th term to order (10:07 AM SLT).
[2022/01/22 10:07] Jerry McNally: Hello again Mizou
[2022/01/22 10:08] Almut Brunswick: Since somebody has "borrowed" the agenda dispenser, I sent it to all of you "afoot".
[2022/01/22 10:08] Almut Brunswick: 1. Administrative Business

1.1 Approval of the Agenda
[2022/01/22 10:08] Rosie Gray: I don't have it, Almut
[2022/01/22 10:08] Jerry McNally: Can I assume it's the same as the version on the forum?
[2022/01/22 10:08] Jerry McNally: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=9890
[2022/01/22 10:08] Tor Karlsvalt: me crime is on the rise
[2022/01/22 10:08] Almut Brunswick: Yes, it is the same version
[2022/01/22 10:08] Rosie Gray: oop, it just showed up
[2022/01/22 10:09] Almut Brunswick: Everybody is supplied now, no?
[2022/01/22 10:09] Jerry McNally: yep
[2022/01/22 10:09] Tor Karlsvalt: yes
[2022/01/22 10:09] Rosie Gray: yes thank you
[2022/01/22 10:09] Agatha Macbeth: /me is supplied
[2022/01/22 10:11] Almut Brunswick: Any comments, mistakes found, wishes for additions? I'm sorry that I was so late with publishing. Rosie has reminded me though.
[2022/01/22 10:11] Rosie Gray: looks good to me
[2022/01/22 10:11] Jerry McNally: just to note that the numbering is wrong again - there are two item 3s
[2022/01/22 10:11] Rosie Gray: oh you have a sharp eye, Jerry
[2022/01/22 10:11] Almut Brunswick: ooups...let's change it quickly
[2022/01/22 10:12] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): I'd like to postpone the MoCA curator for okone more meting, unless you have news
[2022/01/22 10:12] Almut Brunswick: Thank you, Jerry!
[2022/01/22 10:12] Almut Brunswick: ok
[2022/01/22 10:12] Almut Brunswick: We'll leave it in the agenda, but with the note that it will be tabled.
[2022/01/22 10:13] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): thanks
[2022/01/22 10:13] Rosie Gray: perhaps we could address that when the time comes?
[2022/01/22 10:13] Lilith Ivory: /me wonders if any citizen has the right to request an aganda item being postphoned
[2022/01/22 10:14] Rosie Gray: no, actually
[2022/01/22 10:14] Lilith Ivory: /me smiles softly
[2022/01/22 10:14] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): well then I withdraw that
[2022/01/22 10:14] Almut Brunswick: But de facto we would exactly do that when we don't have any news.
[2022/01/22 10:15] Almut Brunswick: therefore I said: We leave it on the agenda, but we'll table it.
[2022/01/22 10:15] Rosie Gray: Almut, some of us might not want to table it
[2022/01/22 10:15] Rosie Gray: you cannot decide this right now
[2022/01/22 10:15] Rosie Gray: sorry... that's how it works
[2022/01/22 10:16] Almut Brunswick: Then you misunderstood me
[2022/01/22 10:16] Almut Brunswick: We will come to the point, we will not have any news and then I will propose to vote for tabling it.
[2022/01/22 10:17] Almut Brunswick: I will send out a new version now
[2022/01/22 10:18] Almut Brunswick: Ok, the same game agian
[2022/01/22 10:19] Rosie Gray: Motion to adopt the Agenda as revised
[2022/01/22 10:19] Cathy Sabre: second
[2022/01/22 10:19] Almut Brunswick: any further need to discuss it?
[2022/01/22 10:19] Almut Brunswick: If not, let's vote
[2022/01/22 10:19] Cathy Sabre: call the question
[2022/01/22 10:20] Rosie Gray: aye
[2022/01/22 10:20] Almut Brunswick: I did
[2022/01/22 10:20] Almut Brunswick: aye
[2022/01/22 10:20] Cathy Sabre: aye
[2022/01/22 10:20] Jerry McNally: aye
[2022/01/22 10:20] Almut Brunswick: Thank you
[2022/01/22 10:20] Almut Brunswick: 1.2 Review and approval of the Minutes of the Third RA Meeting of the 36th Term, Jan. 8, 2022
https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=9887
[2022/01/22 10:21] Cathy Sabre: I move to approve.
[2022/01/22 10:21] Rosie Gray: Motion to adopt the Minutes as presented
[2022/01/22 10:21] Jerry McNally: second
[2022/01/22 10:21] Cathy Sabre: second
[2022/01/22 10:21] Almut Brunswick: I second this and want to thank Jerry for the superb summaries
[2022/01/22 10:22] Almut Brunswick: Any need to discuss or comment it? If not, let's approve it
[2022/01/22 10:22] Cathy Sabre: I agree.
[2022/01/22 10:22] Jerry McNally: no problem
[2022/01/22 10:22] Cathy Sabre: aye
[2022/01/22 10:22] Almut Brunswick: aye
[2022/01/22 10:22] Rosie Gray: aye
[2022/01/22 10:22] Jerry McNally: aye
[2022/01/22 10:22] Almut Brunswick: Thank you
[2022/01/22 10:22] Almut Brunswick: 1.3 Status/Result of the By-Election
[2022/01/22 10:23] Almut Brunswick: The due date for the by-election has meanwhile expired
[2022/01/22 10:23] Almut Brunswick: Lilith, can you tell us something about the result of the by-election for the RA?
[2022/01/22 10:24] Jerry McNally: Just to note Delia's post on the forum https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=9885
[2022/01/22 10:24] Lilith Ivory: we didn´t get any candidate for the vacant seat
[2022/01/22 10:24] Lilith Ivory: so the RA will have to work with only 4 members this term
[2022/01/22 10:24] Lilith Ivory: done
[2022/01/22 10:24] Almut Brunswick: Thank you.
[2022/01/22 10:25] Almut Brunswick: (Then I need to activate my split personality :D)
[2022/01/22 10:25] Rosie Gray: hehe
[2022/01/22 10:25] Lilith Ivory: as long as all of your get only one vote together I am fine with that lol
[2022/01/22 10:25] Almut Brunswick: Well, that also means that any changes on the Constitution would be impossible this term.
[2022/01/22 10:26] Rosie Gray: no, I disagree with that
[2022/01/22 10:26] Rosie Gray: if we vote 100%, we could make a change
[2022/01/22 10:27] Almut Brunswick: Ok
[2022/01/22 10:27] Lilith Ivory: yes you need a 2/3 vote and that would be 4 of 5
[2022/01/22 10:27] Almut Brunswick: Good, then I'm glad we are not blocked this way, so the reformation of the SC articles could be performed.
[2022/01/22 10:28] Rosie Gray: absolutely
[2022/01/22 10:28] Almut Brunswick: We will hear about your SC proposals in two weeks, I assume.
[2022/01/22 10:28] Almut Brunswick: But...let's continue
[2022/01/22 10:28] Almut Brunswick: 2. Executive Report (Tor)
[2022/01/22 10:28] Almut Brunswick: Mr Chancellor, you have the stage
[2022/01/22 10:29] Almut Brunswick: /me puts out her knitting stuff and listens
[2022/01/22 10:29] Sylvia Tamalyn: /me nudges tor
[2022/01/22 10:30] Rosie Gray: /me reaches waaay, out with her magic finger to poke Tor
[2022/01/22 10:30] Almut Brunswick: I assume he is distracted by playing "battleships" with Mizou
[2022/01/22 10:30] Rosie Gray: hehe
[2022/01/22 10:30] Cathy Sabre: Sombody wave your hand in front of his face.
[2022/01/22 10:31] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): LOL
[2022/01/22 10:31] Sylvia Tamalyn: /me kicks harder
[2022/01/22 10:31] Rosie Gray: there he is
[2022/01/22 10:31] Tor Karlsvalt: sorry i am slow and one handed.
[2022/01/22 10:31] Almut Brunswick: Captain Morgan roleplay!
[2022/01/22 10:32] Tor Karlsvalt: Thank you madam LRA.

RL requires I be brief. As many of you know, last January 9th, I slipped on ice, took a nasty fall, and broke my right upper arm. I has surgery for this only last Thursday. So I have been a bit hobbled and limited myself to basic duties.

But, thanks to Rosie the kiosks have been updated to include the Casper website. Sylvia and I have updated the parcel descriptions to include LI information. This listing will be a big help to us while selling land as well as provide an easy way for buyers to look for parcels. Jerry, I understand, will link egis listing to our website.

We welcome Tandra Jupiter back to CDS. She recently bought a parcel in the LA village and I am told today purchased a large parcel in LA. Tandra was very active with events some years ago.

My arm is improving.
[2022/01/22 10:32] Jerry McNally: sorry to hear about your arm Tor
[2022/01/22 10:33] Sylvia Tamalyn: good to hear the surgery went well :)
[2022/01/22 10:33] Almut Brunswick: Get well soon, Tor!
[2022/01/22 10:33] Tor Karlsvalt: i am able to move my arm a bit more today, but need about four days before i can type well
[2022/01/22 10:33] Tor Karlsvalt: thanks for all the good wishes
[2022/01/22 10:33] Tor Karlsvalt: done
[2022/01/22 10:34] Lilith Ivory: /me raises her hand
[2022/01/22 10:34] Almut Brunswick: Thank you for all the good news. In this context, I like to thank also Rosie and Sylvia for their support, and I'm happy we could win back Tandra as citizen.
[2022/01/22 10:35] Rosie Gray: yay
[2022/01/22 10:35] Almut Brunswick: Are there any further questions to Tor?
[2022/01/22 10:35] Lilith Ivory: /me looks at her hand in the air :)
[2022/01/22 10:35] Almut Brunswick: Lilith please
[2022/01/22 10:36] Lilith Ivory: I would like to ask Tor if it is possible to pass out the new rules for setting land descriptions to the EM team so we know how to set parcels from now on
[2022/01/22 10:36] Lilith Ivory: I am still working with the NC that is several years old :)
[2022/01/22 10:36] Lilith Ivory: done
[2022/01/22 10:37] Tor Karlsvalt: ok, i will address that before the next meeting
[2022/01/22 10:37] Almut Brunswick: Thank you
[2022/01/22 10:37] Jerry McNally: /me raises his hand
[2022/01/22 10:37] Almut Brunswick: Jerry please
[2022/01/22 10:37] Almut Brunswick: (Lilith you can lower your arm now...)
[2022/01/22 10:37] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): Just to note that the original cards were done by Sylvia ;)
[2022/01/22 10:38] Rosie Gray: yes
[2022/01/22 10:38] Rosie Gray: and there are some more things now to pay attention to
[2022/01/22 10:38] Delia Lake: is online.
[2022/01/22 10:38] Sylvia Tamalyn: i will be happy to revise them if tor would like me to :)
[2022/01/22 10:38] Almut Brunswick: Tor, that sounds like a volunteer
[2022/01/22 10:39] Tor Karlsvalt: hehe
[2022/01/22 10:39] Jerry McNally: I'd just like to add that I have the Casper website code and will soon incorporate it into our website
[2022/01/22 10:39] Almut Brunswick: Great, Jerry
[2022/01/22 10:39] Tor Karlsvalt: I agree, we'll look at them and update them if necessary and post them
[2022/01/22 10:40] Almut Brunswick: You may report us on our next meeting about it again
[2022/01/22 10:41] Almut Brunswick: Thank you. I propose to continue now.
[2022/01/22 10:41] Almut Brunswick: 3. Land-Use Commission Report (Cathy)
[2022/01/22 10:41] Cathy Sabre: Mizou is Pres., Lilith is Sec., I will fill in for either. We will be meeting next Sun. at 9:30 amslt, then once a month, unless needs arise.
[2022/01/22 10:42] Almut Brunswick: Ok, then we are looking forward for your next report.
[2022/01/22 10:42] Almut Brunswick: Are you done for now?
[2022/01/22 10:43] Cathy Sabre: yes
[2022/01/22 10:43] Almut Brunswick: Thank you.
[2022/01/22 10:43] Almut Brunswick: 4. Old Business

4.1 Call for a MoCa Curator
[2022/01/22 10:43] Rosie Gray: hi Delia
[2022/01/22 10:43] Delia Lake: Hi :)
[2022/01/22 10:43] Almut Brunswick: Like we were told earlier today, there is apparently no volunteer found so far.
[2022/01/22 10:43] Almut Brunswick: Hello Delia
[2022/01/22 10:44] Lilith Ivory: Hi Delia
[2022/01/22 10:45] Almut Brunswick: You just showed up right in time for "your" topic 4.2 :D
[2022/01/22 10:46] Almut Brunswick: but regarding the MoCa curator, shall we discuss it here today?
[2022/01/22 10:46] Rosie Gray: /me raises a hand
[2022/01/22 10:46] Almut Brunswick: Rosie please
[2022/01/22 10:46] Rosie Gray: thanks
[2022/01/22 10:46] Rosie Gray: just to say that I added a sign into the building with the application process to become a curator there
[2022/01/22 10:47] Rosie Gray: just in case a visitor who might be interested, might see it
[2022/01/22 10:47] Rosie Gray: done
[2022/01/22 10:47] Almut Brunswick: Thank you
[2022/01/22 10:48] Jerry McNally: I don't know much about the main SL forums, but might something go there too?
[2022/01/22 10:49] Rosie Gray: wouldn't hurt I guess
[2022/01/22 10:50] Almut Brunswick: I think the conditions for this position might scare off potential "outsiders". We have, however, discussed it here excessively.
[2022/01/22 10:51] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): raises her hand
[2022/01/22 10:51] Almut Brunswick: Kyoko please
[2022/01/22 10:51] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): Thank you
[2022/01/22 10:51] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): One of the reasons I resigned as MoCA curator was because I was told that I was basically an employee
[2022/01/22 10:52] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): and that my job was just do do exhibits.
[2022/01/22 10:53] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): it was only part of it tho. I just needed a break as I was also chancellor
[2022/01/22 10:53] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): done
[2022/01/22 10:54] Cathy Sabre: raises hand
[2022/01/22 10:54] Almut Brunswick: Hmm, Cathy please
[2022/01/22 10:54] Cathy Sabre: I would ad that her events there were spectacular.
[2022/01/22 10:54] Cathy Sabre: done
[2022/01/22 10:54] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): thank you Cathy
[2022/01/22 10:55] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): I wasn't going to ever share the other part.
[2022/01/22 10:55] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): But it seemed relevant at this point
[2022/01/22 10:55] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): I think the SL forum/blog is a good idea
[2022/01/22 10:56] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): but with the lack of abilty tom examine the bigger issues is a blocking element
[2022/01/22 10:57] Almut Brunswick: Well, Kyoko left big shoes (or should I say: a precious kimono *g*) somebody else still needs to proof worthy and capable to wear them. That will become hard to find a successor.
[2022/01/22 10:58] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): Really it was a question of feelingf respected as a contributer to museum plans
[2022/01/22 10:58] Kyoko Barzane (samara.barzane): done
[2022/01/22 10:58] Almut Brunswick: Thank you
[2022/01/22 10:58] Almut Brunswick: Any further comments at this point?
[2022/01/22 10:59] Almut Brunswick: If not, I would like to move forward to the next top
[2022/01/22 10:59] Almut Brunswick: 4.2 Constitution Review Article III, Sections 1 and 2, and CDSL 16-07 Scientific Council Affirmation Procedures Act to bring them into Alignment
* Note: The SC asked for a period of four weeks to prepare their proposal, so it is suggested to table this topic another two weeks.
[2022/01/22 11:00] Almut Brunswick: Maybe the SC could give us a brief interim report
[2022/01/22 11:00] Cathy Sabre: I so move.
[2022/01/22 11:00] Delia Lake: /me raises her hand
[2022/01/22 11:00] Almut Brunswick: Delia please
[2022/01/22 11:01] Delia Lake: The SC is working on this and as Calli said and as we said in our early Jan SC meeting, we will post to the Forum in early Feb
[2022/01/22 11:02] Cathy Sabre: There is a motion on the floor
[2022/01/22 11:02] Rosie Gray: what motion?
[2022/01/22 11:02] Almut Brunswick: Ants?
[2022/01/22 11:02] Cathy Sabre: table this topic another two weeks.
[2022/01/22 11:03] Rosie Gray: I don't see any motion
[2022/01/22 11:03] Almut Brunswick: Ah yes, so it was proposed in the agenda.
[2022/01/22 11:03] Almut Brunswick: Second to table it till next meeting.
[2022/01/22 11:04] Cathy Sabre: I moved just after it was suggested
[2022/01/22 11:04] Jerry McNally: A suggestion is not an explicit motion, I guess
[2022/01/22 11:04] Rosie Gray: I see no specific motion
[2022/01/22 11:04] Jerry McNally: "for the record" and so on
[2022/01/22 11:04] Rosie Gray: you can't just say 'so moved', unless it has been specifically stated already
[2022/01/22 11:04] Almut Brunswick: Right. So let's just wait for next meeting.
[2022/01/22 11:05] Almut Brunswick: There is no vote necessary
[2022/01/22 11:05] Almut Brunswick: Shall we continue?
[2022/01/22 11:05] Rosie Gray: /me nods
[2022/01/22 11:05] Almut Brunswick: 5. New Business
[2022/01/22 11:06] Almut Brunswick: In fact there isn't any so far.
[2022/01/22 11:06] Almut Brunswick: 6. Citizen Concerns

6.1 Status Media Prim Nuisance
[2022/01/22 11:06] Almut Brunswick: I think it would be good to hear from Tor if this problem could be worked out.
[2022/01/22 11:07] Tor Karlsvalt: sure
[2022/01/22 11:07] Tor Karlsvalt: I spoke with the individule who thinks she handled the matter
[2022/01/22 11:08] Tor Karlsvalt: i havent heard the media since
[2022/01/22 11:08] Tor Karlsvalt: so monitioring it
[2022/01/22 11:08] Rosie Gray: yay
[2022/01/22 11:08] Jerry McNally: /me raises a hand
[2022/01/22 11:09] Almut Brunswick: Jerry please
[2022/01/22 11:09] Jerry McNally: Thanks. In the minutes it was "suggested that Estate Managers could be empowered to send appropriate notecards to rulebreakers in the first instance." Any progress on that?
[2022/01/22 11:11] Tor Karlsvalt: I have not pushed that as yet.
[2022/01/22 11:12] Tor Karlsvalt: i think the there isnt an L glitch.
[2022/01/22 11:12] Almut Brunswick: What does it mean?
[2022/01/22 11:12] Tor Karlsvalt: sorry about the typing
[2022/01/22 11:12] Rosie Gray: take your time, Tor
[2022/01/22 11:13] Tor Karlsvalt: i think there is an sl glitch
[2022/01/22 11:13] Almut Brunswick: ah
[2022/01/22 11:13] Tor Karlsvalt: there isn't an intent to break the rules.
[2022/01/22 11:13] Tor Karlsvalt: i prefer to move gently
[2022/01/22 11:14] Tor Karlsvalt: it is serious tho
[2022/01/22 11:15] Tor Karlsvalt: and even affects our attractiveness to visitors
[2022/01/22 11:15] Tor Karlsvalt: done
[2022/01/22 11:15] Almut Brunswick: Thank you
[2022/01/22 11:15] Almut Brunswick: Any further comments to this topic?
[2022/01/22 11:15] Rosie Gray: not from me
[2022/01/22 11:15] Jerry McNally: nope
[2022/01/22 11:16] Cathy Sabre: no
[2022/01/22 11:17] Almut Brunswick: Thank you, so let's switch to a kind of "new business" which is, however, more a private initiative
[2022/01/22 11:17] Almut Brunswick: 6.2 CDS Book Club
* Note: Not really a concern than more a proposal, Rosie and Almut would like to introduce their idea to found a CDS Book Club with a focus on both native and non-native English speakers/readers: https://forums.slcds.info/viewtopic.php?t=9889
[2022/01/22 11:17] Almut Brunswick: I propose not to go into details here too much
[2022/01/22 11:19] Almut Brunswick: It is just more intended as making it public here in this audience - with the side effect to support Kyoko's and Jerry's activities to make our CDS community attractive for other "edu heads", too.
[2022/01/22 11:19] Almut Brunswick: I think that we will schedule an initial meeting next or the coming Friday at 12 PM.
[2022/01/22 11:19] Cathy Sabre: Form an NGO?
[2022/01/22 11:21] Rosie Gray: good lord no
[2022/01/22 11:21] Rosie Gray: haha
[2022/01/22 11:21] Almut Brunswick: Hmm that is a big word for that circle
[2022/01/22 11:21] Almut Brunswick: When Almut proposes something, it is always endangered to become an authority :D
[2022/01/22 11:22] Almut Brunswick: No, no, it is just meant as an informal circle of book lovers with and without native English speaking background.
[2022/01/22 11:23] Jerry McNally: Sounds good, not sure it needs any legislative input here though
[2022/01/22 11:23] Cathy Sabre: I agree, then.
[2022/01/22 11:24] Almut Brunswick: No, Jerry, it doesn't. I just "hijacked" the Citizen's Concerns for that annoncement
[2022/01/22 11:25] Almut Brunswick: because though it is a new informal activity, it has hopefully also a positive impact on the CDS' social and cultural life
[2022/01/22 11:25] Almut Brunswick: Done.
[2022/01/22 11:26] Almut Brunswick: When there aren't any further questions, I propose to move to 7. RA Member Concerns
[2022/01/22 11:27] Cathy Sabre: None from me.
